I agree with not worrying about what is going into the dummy player's deck. It seems better to take what you want instead of trying to prevent certain cards/crystals going to him.
First, love your videos, huge fan. Second, a question about Plundering. You had Mana Searched which would seem to indicate you had started your turn because the effect states, "on your turn." And then you Plunder, but isn't Plunder supposed to be in between turns? You can't backtrack to before you rolled the dice so it seems the only way to Plundeer is to end your turn but then Dummy gets a turn. Do I understand the rule wrong?
right; I meant to do plunder and then use Mana Search; the plunder comes first and I should have waiting to roll the dice for Mana Search. I sometimes do things in my head before playing them out! Good spot ;) R.R.
Around 9:40, there is no extra symbol on it for ambush Does that mean that all rampaging orcs (draconum maybe as well then?), Will ambush you in this expansion?
Wouldnt the first 2 enemies (non-elementalist), placed at setup on the first 2 tiles be the only enemies to have Ambush? Not the other rampaging enemies (elementalist)? I could be misreading rules on Hidden Valley. Thank you for all your help and videos! 👍
The rampaging enemies placing on starting tiles during setup do not get Ambush, but they are still Elementalists, and defeating an Elementalist gets you a minor magical item token.
@@BoxofDelights my directions say " when placing rampaging enemies pick from the Elementalist pile. Except for those on the tiles placed during setup, these enemy tokens gain the Ambush ability." ? Either way thank you for all your help
Hi Ricky! When you were attacking the Cloud Griffons in the end of the video, wouldn't have 4 attack been enough to kill it? Anyway, thanks for feeding us with more Mage Knight gameplay! Have been enjoying this new series so far.
Hi! Very late to this video but been playing a bunch of solo Mage Knight lately. I have a question about enemies with ambush: I understand that how/when they will attack, but there is a comment in the rules that states “The rules for challenging a rampaging enemy with Ambush do not change -it can only be done from an adjacent space.” So if they attack from 2 spaces away, do you get to attack back? Or do you just need to block and you don’t get a chance to attack until you move adjacent? Thanks!
Hey Ricky, One other question. I made it all the way to the high priestess and I engaged in combat. I had the “whirlwind / tornado” spell in my hand with black mana available and a white crystal in my inventory. Tornado states “play only in the attack phase of combat. Destroy target enemy”. Does the high priestess count as a target enemy? And if I am able to block everything to get to the attack phase, can I take her out with that spell? Thanks.
@@adwatts87 great question ! It would be fine (faction leaders are considered enemy tokens for the sake of cards like Flame Wave spell) but they also have Arcane Immunity, so non Attack/Block spells like Tornado have no effect. So no, you cannot Tornado the High Priestess. Safe adventures! R.R.
Hi Ricky, I have one question: when you refresh the unit offer, why did you just shuffle regular units? Do we have to refresh all units including the elite ones and put them on the bottom deck, is it right?
Hi Ricky, i have a question. You use regular rampaging enemies, as your stack is empty. Do you have to shuffle the discarded faction enemies to a new pile (like discribe in the main rules)? Tezla rules about that said, you have to use regular enemies if all faction enemies are in play (so on the map). Tbe discarded faction enemies are not in play and should be use to form a new stack. Or i am wrong? Thx for this awesome video series
The wording is actually, "in use" rather than "in play", but as "in use" is not defined (tut tut!) you can take it as you see it. At the time I considered the ones in the discard pile as "in use". I think your interpretation is the correct one, so yes, re-shuffle the discard pile and create a new stack. Great question - thank you ! R.R.
1:37 "Who said Mage Knight was supposed to be easy." Just full of these one line zingers ;)
I did not know that about core tiles not being able to go on the coast - the things you learn from people in the know!

in this one scenario in this expansion, yes

just if he would have blocked him
Right, if I had blocked it then 4 attack would be enough, but it is elusive, so takes the higher 8 armour if I leave it unblocked.
@@BoxofDelights Ah, thanks. So I've been playing this wrong all the time.

if they attack you, then it’s just like a regular conflict so yes, you can take them out in ranged or go through blocking and then attack.
Ricky Royal thanks so much! Love the play throughs Ricky.

Yes, I did both (17:30); you do both (i.e. introduce Elite units) when you have the first core tile revealed.

Without Ricky Royal, Mage Knight would be forgotten by now.
Why does this keep reappearing? I mean, it's good, but it was good the first time... this is about the third appearance I think...
I wanted to make a change. Should be done now !
@@BoxofDelights What was the change?
I put in a banner about the rampaging enemy and the lakes. It's annoying that UA-cam have taken annotations away :(
Well, i'm not sure but you can also put some corrections in the subtitles
