It’d be nice if PSA provided some kind of breakdown like other grading companies as to why the card received the grade it did.

I was thinking the same thing..
People have been asking for it for many years. On the higher value levels PSA will be rolling that out at the top tiers, then I believe as an added fee they will add the option at submitting screen to choose. However, as we have seen the hobby over the past few years it is one big roller-coaster.
They’ve announced they’re adding grading notes in the near future. No date given yet

Nice submission. I stopped grading due to biases and no explanation as to why cards get the grade they get. You obviously have a great eye for cards.
I know SGC is not the prefered grader, but that's who I go with. I think they are super fair and consistent with their grades. They also have a 10 day turn around time! They are cheap at only $15 per slab and $9/ on promos.(currently 2023 Topps Chrome) They show your grade online as soon as they're done and provide beautiful "seller ready" pics of the cards that you can use for listing before your cards even get back. And no B.S. up charges!!! I know PSA slabs usually fetch a higher premium, but not always. I think SGCs stock will continue to rise 🤔

Dont worry about the back centering on the julio. As long as a card is centered on the front then its good. PSA puts very little weight on badk centering. It would need to be 70/30 for them to knock it down.

Your strategy of breaking up the duplicates into 2 separate orders is super sound. In my submissions, I have a Patreon who collects Matt Judon rainbows and when he has like 8 or 9 in a sub from the same set he always gets 50/50 on them. When I look at them, they all should be 10s.
Them Judons are why I had to stop watching. Got sick of fast forwarding to when they stopped😂

its no surprise how well you do with the grades.With you being so meticulous and picky which is how you should be with grading. The borderless cards have seemed to be a tougher task to get a higher grade. nice selection.
Good luck on the Ohoppe. Awesome card hopefully it gets a 10. Also, 2023 series 1-2 for me this year was absolute trash except for the fact that I got a bunch of decent Vaughn Grissom cards. Hopefully he gets some playing time.

I would like to know if even a 20 card order is done by all the same grader. I would guess so? who knows. Love to see a behind the scenes at PSA documentary. 75% is a great gem rate, you got the skills. I was always above 70 until recently. You would think I would be getting better at it but ive had some rough returns lately.

The Shohei Babe Ruth SP is so awesome.
I really love that Ohtani/Babe card. I asked this before in one of your streams, but I wanted to get your thoughts on other cards that are similar but don't get any attention. Like the Ted Williams SP from 2022 Topps Update. Isn't that technically a Julio SP? Why doesn't the hobby treat that the same way as the Ohtani/Babe? Great gem rate btw!
Someone figured it out a couple years ago what it was. Initially when they thought it was a ssp they tried to corner the market and buy all of them up. After realizing it was an sp with a few more printed they gave up on that idea, however when they went to shows they brought up the card whenever Ohtani was mentioned. Slowly the word has gotten around over time. I'd say just mention it and bring it up as often as possible and the hobby will most likely come around. Just will take some time, I have that Ted William's sp as well that I pulled but never checked the #s in checklist to see who it was sp of so thank you. Best of luck. 👍
Also forgot to add that when Stryker pulled it, it added alot more attention to it and spread alot faster. So I think he had alot to do with it as well

I've never graded any cards and thinking about sending some off but I'm a newbie.. When it comes to centering is there a tool you use to check and if so what would you recommend?

Kind of sucks having a guess on what’s wrong with the card if it’s not a 10. I’m gonna start using Beckett services cause I like the way they put it on the slab of the card and I personally think there’s looks better.

I also have a Carroll HFA that will probably grade a 9. definitely unfortunate, but i may sub it as well.
Vast majority of the HFAs I've seen are 9s
of 4718 HFA's from 2022 only 11% got 10's, and 66% got 9's. It seems like 2023 is no different.
I'd send any of the big names if you were confident it will 9 or better, especially the big RC's

I got a batch of cards back from PSA recently and several of them got an 8. I was extremely picky and made sure every one of them were centered, had perfect corners, and absolutely NO surface issues. They were all ultra modern straight from the pack to the sleeve. I am completely mystified as to why they got 8's! I cracked open one of the slabs and I’m sending the card to TAG to see what they give it. Btw the card I’m re-sending is a 2023 Topps Cosmic Adley (Black Eclipse). I’m 99% sure TAG will give it a 9 or 10.
I’d be happy with a 9. Psa gave me a 4 on a card I won on a break. They sent it to me in a one touch and I set it straight out to psa. Idk if there where fingerprints or what on it. So disappointed.
