We got two with the system. In our case we have rust. We soaked the used filter in iron out solution for 24 or so hours rinsed from inside out, good to go. Tech recommended that. When paper element starts separating from plastic you have to throw away.
Easy to do. 2 discrepancies between the video and the filter instructions provided: 1. The video doesn't suggest lubing the sump ring....and 2. The instructions don't mention the 2nd drain process after new filter installation. But nice to be able to do it quickly and successfully!
Thanks for the tips. I couldn't find my filter wrench so I ended up using a slip rubber belt wrench which did the job. My unit did not have the second vent valve so I had to close the main water valve and open some of the pipes to allow some of the water to flow out of the canister..
@@chuckbiehn5798 There doesn't seem to be a good alternative to the brand name filter. I recently stopped by the dealer and bought 6 filters so I didn't have to go back for a while. They're definitely gouging on price.
Check to see if the company you purchased from has an online store. I called mine and they gave me a log in to purchase filters. For reference (2021) the filters are $30

Hello, besides the dealer, where can I find this filter? It's 3x9 I think but couldn't able to locate it
Very clear instructions, Thanks
Excellent demonstration. Where can I buy a replacement cartridge?
Trying to figure that out myself. Seems to be impossible.
Thank You! Hey, where can I get one of those filters? I have the Kinetico System but can't find the filter online.
Yes, it's painfully difficult to find the replacement filter. I'm looking as well.
Did you ever find a filter? I'm in need of one and cannot find it either. Thanks.

@@chuckbiehn5798 I cleaned the old filter as best I could. It seems to be working.
