Champion that was..... just followed your instructions and it worked a treat. Spins much better now and makes less of a clicking noise. Thanks a bunch.
Thanks for watching happy to help 👍🏻👍🏻🚴🏻
I did this to 10 a year old wheel that had a sticky free hub. No more issues and as a bonus it makes less noise. Thanks
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Thanks for the video, I have the same wheel and my freehub screeching really badly and has alot of resistance too when frewheeling- going to try this
Glad it helped, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Cheers boss wasn't expecting the bearing preload with cover cap cheers for that
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
You should only use mineral oil to lubricate the cassette body. No other oil or grease should be used. The delrin washer will be affected and the freewheel will eventually seize.
The Morgan blue race oil is the best, which is what I used Link to Pro Lube, Morgan blue, £12, amzn.to/2QeJVHK, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
I'm having the same issue: slow hub spin, on a NEW set of Cosmic Elites. The slow hub makes for significant chain slap as the rear der has to struggle against it to take up slack. A real pill. In this video, your hub after lubing does not seem to be appreciably less sticky than before.
When riding it made a really noticeable difference thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Good info. Top tip dont put the lock nut on the wrong way around or it wont on the bike/...
Lol 😂 sounds like you talk from experience thanks for the information 👍🏻👍🏻🚲
Thanks a lot
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Music on the background is annoying to me. You might want to consider removing it or tuning it down in the future. However, thanks for the advice. Good stuff!
Noted! Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Great video but sure there was a washer that got missed out on the rebuild? It's the one that goes somewhere inside the freehub body.
Nothing Missed, Still running like a dream Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11 i am sure there is a washer that goes between the free hub and the hub bearings. I saw you take it off? Not saying you didn't put it on but i didn't see it on this video? Is that where it goes?
Yes I believe the washer was stuck to the bearing when he removed the free hub body so it goes between the two bearings
Thanks alot! I serviced my aksium rear hub and now the small free hub play is gone.
Great news🚵♀️ thanks for watching 👍🏻😂
Nice video. What tools did you use to remove the free hub?
You Need 17mm bearing spanner, £9 Link is amzn.to/2zW0Jys
and 5mm Allen key £6 Link is amzn.to/2UbYy0g , Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
aaanton11 thank you
cannot remove the spokes on my Mavik Aksium. It is the spoke on the adjacent side to the caseette
it should slip out once undone Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
What are the tools you use to adjust the non-drive side bearing tension? You said the locking nut is 17mm but what size wrench do you need to use to keep the bearing cap steady while you tighten the nut?
If I remember right that is 17mm as well, possibly a 15mm, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11 I measured the bearing cap and it's a 13mm. Thanks for the video, very helpful!
Really useful video, about to look at my own Ksyrium wheels so this helped. Taking a guess you’re East Midlands based from the accent?
+David George Leicestershire, happy to help 🚴🏻
aaanton11 I thought so, Shepshed here!
I'm ask what size bladed spokes for ksyrium
I am not sure on that one I have never needed to replace any, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
I have to guess that the little pauls did not hold up so good when someone first tried to use a forty eight tooth rear sprocket. I can just imagine how fast they failed with the increased concentrated stresses. These sites will never admit to problems with new design systems. I see the word upgrade but they never explain why it is better. Only that you need it because we are the experts and explanations are not needed.
The wheel has been spot on after service, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Does that hub require Mavic specific spokes or will any straight-pull spokes work?
I would not think do, as long as the size is correct they should be fine, thanks for the great comments 👍🏻👍🏻🛠
aaanton11 Thanks👍🏻
No idea what just happened there! I could not see anything!
😂Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
great content, but please remove your music
Thanks for the great comments 👍🏻👍🏻🛠
thanks but we can't see shit unfortunately with your camera angle...
Thanks for the great information👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11 Well that's just my point of view (no pun intended). Take that as a critic to improve camera angle & zoom for your next video. There was nothing personal or demeaning here.
