- Ron got given this ST90-powered Extra RC plane, what a catch! Today he got ready to fly it, started the engine for the first time in many years and was all set to go when the wind got up -- not good for a maiden flight. However, it is all sorted and ready to fly as soon as we get a calmer fine day so stay tuned, it will be flown!

What a engine! Great dive at the end there.
I had a 300 Extra Electric, never got it to fly as it insisted on crashing on take off and turned its self to scrap. I rebuilt it and sold it. No loss. I was happy to see it go. I wasnt ready for it yet anyways.

What does "full throttle, model vertical up" procedure do? Air bubbles elimination?
It is to make sure that the engine will still draw fuel when there is maximum vertical distance between the engine and the tank. Since these engines have no fuel pump they rely on the ventur effect to "suck" fuel from the tank so changes in fuel-head can have a significant effect.
@@xjet I have always thought that main fuel drive is thanks to overpressure in tank created from exhaust line. Have never thought about ventur. Thank you for answer!

Ron you could have just moved the caddy closer to the plane. Its a oldy, the plane not Ron, I remember seeing these ages ago.
The Supertigre engines were among the best in the world, if I'm not mistaken that Ron is a 7.5 or at least a 10 CC ..... they were, I said, because now the factory is gone, swallowed up by the various Picco, Ops and all the other oriental.
