    Very nice pistol. PTR has pretty much mastered the roller lock. I have the PTR 91 and love it. You're gonna have a ball with that one. Stay frosty.

    I really want one of these, but they are expensive. I went the cheaper route for a 9mm sub gun and bought a Palmetto State Armory AK V, a clone of the Russian Vityaz Special Forces sub gun. Very impressed with and it was only $850. Works like an AK and first 100 rounds had no hiccups.

    I have had one for over a year. Never any problems with it. Thank you for the excellent video. Mine seems to work well with 124 grain fmj ammo. I agree about the roller locking systems. My HK91 is a smooth operating rifle. I put the heavy buffer and an FSC91 compensator and the recoil now is less than an AK. I also like the Midwest Industries handguards that came on my 9CT. Though they aren't the originals, I prefer the utility of the M-Loc slots.

    Remind s me of the MP5 I used in the Tire City Range on the compound at FT Bragg, NC. Good Shooter. But I found an outstanding very accurate 9mm carbine Rifle the Ruger PC 9 Carbine.I put a 4x scope on it and out to 200 yards can keep the rounds in the kill zone with the standard FBI Targets. At 100 yard shots on clay targets placed on the backstop, Dirt mounds are no problem, when the round hits they turn to dust. I had a PTR Rifle in 5.56/.223 kinda like my old G3 Style H&K 91 in.308 they are made here locally and are very hard to get.

    The MP5 and the MP7 are phenomenal! I like This PTR and may pick one up if I can find one. I was actually able to find a SP5 in stock at my local gun store and was shocked lol. Their are so many people say that the MP5 and its clones are so outdated for today but honestly I feel like slapping them because obviously they haven't ever shot one they are still perfection in the PCC market. My PTR91 is my primary rifle, I really like the delayed roller a lot. That hard wall trigger is something to get used to, but once you master it the rifle will shoot very well. Hoping that the price will come down to the same as a PTR91 at some point, ~$1,600 for a pistol caliber carbine, even at high quality, is enough to make a man flinch. Thanks for making these videos.

    I have to say I had shot the UZI in the USMC back in the early 90s then we went to MP-5 man pull the trigger and 30rnds in a tiny hole very controllable . I have never shot it semi but I can say this I have an HK93 and 91 both have min recoil especially the HK93 that had almost no recoil. The roller lock guns is just training you need time with this system to get use to the manual of arms.

    • @hrfunk
      @hrfunk  4 роки тому +2

      Thanks for the comment Todd. I think the only drawback to the roller lock system is it's expensive to manufacture. That's why HK came out with the UMP which, in my opinion, is an inferior firearm to the MP-5.

    • @todd2048
      @todd2048 4 роки тому +2

      Yeah their are some cons for sure one for me is no bolt lock back after last shot, Charging handle is to forward can be a pain on the HK91 & 93 series and if you don,t have a paddle mag release it can be a pain to remove the magazine. On my C93 it was such a pain with no paddle mag release that I finally broke down had them installed on my two roller lock 93 guns. Oh and anything that has HK is a Million dollars! Now with that out of the way they are very accurate very low recoil guns I prefer shooting my HK93 guns to my AR15s.

    • @todd2048
      @todd2048 4 роки тому

      @@hrfunk Oh I agree if you ever shot a UMP on full auto its a very up and down recoil very nasty compared to the MP-5 series and I believe that's why the UMP wound up a commercial failure and why most LEO dept's / military kept the MP-5 series. HK was going to end the MP-5 series in 2018 but the push back from Law enforcement and Military communities forced HK to keep the MP-5 series going while they ended the G-3 or HK91 and HK33/53 or HK93 series back in 2017.

      It's a KAK "Flash Can".

    Are there any NFA problems one could inadvertently run into while adding that brace or a similar one?

    • @hrfunk
      @hrfunk  4 роки тому +1

      Not that I know of. It’s classified as a pistol, and the brace is legal, so I think everything is OK.

      No, the PTR ran like a sewing machine.

      No problem. It worked quite well and I liked the reticle. I also like the idea of the dual power source.

      @@hrfunk Yes, I like it for that reason too, can still use the HK irons. BTW, Damn, you really were on the money with it at a fair distance. Impressive shooting after a minor optics adjustment. Surprising accuracy for a smg variant-short barrel in my opinion.

    Why is it considered a rifle and not a carbine? It's under 16 inches and fires a pistol sized cartridge.. classifies it as a carbine, no?

    • @hrfunk
      @hrfunk  Рік тому +1

      Actually, I think this one is classified as a pistol.

    • @Bearzerk330
      @Bearzerk330 Рік тому

      @hrfunk Thanks for your reply! I was under the impression that the barrel length and cartridge size is what classifies something as a rifle/carbine/pistol. I'll have to refresh on the "rules". Have a good day and keep up the awesome content 🇺🇸

    • @hrfunk
      @hrfunk  Рік тому +1

      The rules are sometimes confusing even to those of us who are familiar with them. It doesn’t help matters when some people use improper terminology (like calling a rifle a carbine). That lust adds to the confusion.
