The thing I like about the Masada 9S is that David sensibly carried it as a back-up in his encounter with Goliath, just in case his sling had a malfunction. History would have to be re-written if that happened!
I have the original Masada that I bought 2 years ago for a deal I couldn’t pass up. I’ve added suppressor height sights, but once add the threaded barrel it’s basically a tactical model. Amazing firearm
Chief, I love the way you speak in your videos. It's so natural and not over-played for media algorithms, and us real shooters know and appreciate you for it.
I picked up a Masada Tactical about 4 months ago. Saw it in my local gun shop and it jumped up and said take me home. I have not been disappointed. It's 100% reliable with a variety of 9mm factory and my reloads. It is accurate and fast to bring up on target. The Tactical is becoming my favorite polymer pistol and now with a red dot it's a hard to beat combination. Great review HR - Thanks.
Nice video. Please replace the tack with something smaller it's getting too easy for you. I was delighted to see you using the "frugal man's" optic by cyelee!!! All the best!
Good morning, HRFUNK and family. Happy Saturday to everyone there. I will have to get with my local gun range and see if they offer any of the IWI pistol. Now I'm like.... 🤔. I know for awhile now you always had something good to say about IWI brand
Nice review! You're right Chief, these seem a little difficult to find in stock. Hopefully that will improve, because this pistol is clearly up to task. 👍👍 📌
I quite like the Masada line (in case that wasn't obvious). I know there's a lot going on in the land where they're made, but hopefully their availability will improve.
Man my local gun shop is a real gem. She could hook me up with no less than 12 of the Tactical models. Bad news is they are a 7 minute drive from my house...so my bank account suffers 😂
H.R. What a great story , The Three Masada's Papa Masada , Mama Masada and Baby Masada. Maybe you are the Culprit that caused the popularity of the Masada . The Marine who loves the Masada. Semper Fi.
Great video as always. All three IWI Masada firearms are very nice. I'll be looking for a new full size 9mm in the near future and I may be looking for one of these.
As always HR! Another great review! I really like IWI firearms. I am particularly interested in the 9s. I have never handled an IWI. Going to have to check out an IWI for real. Thanks!
@@hrfunk going to check around the area as I am sure someone in the area carries IWI as their popularity in the gun world seems big. IWI has been around for awhile!
Thank you. I don't own a Massada but they seem to be excellent handguns. The range shooting was excellent and driving a tack at 7 yards with that trigger weight is impressive. P.S., your wall clock seems to be broken.
FYI, I just sent a preview of my next video to your email (marketing). In that video, I'll be covering the performance of all the gear I used in the training course I attended last week. Your optics are included in that report beginning at the 26:20 mark.
Thanks for another great review. I was ready to buy the Masada slim based on your reviews until I felt it at the gun store. I need a lot more texturing than these iwi's offer, but that is just me.
I love my Masada. I wasn't as lucky as you with the plastic optic plates and got a C+H Precision for it. Otherwise, I've run mine through two weekends of IWI-run courses here in PA without a hiccup of any kind and recommend the Masada highly. I had the opportunity to try out the Masada Slim with the metal frame (available through IWI website) when I took my second pistol course last weekend and man, that's a sweet setup. I think I might have to sell a slightly overweight Italian out of my collection and put it towards a slimmer Israeli ;)
If a green one ever is on a crazy deal I might bite...if i remember right I think I was a little Meh on the trigger & texture. The 9s I would have jumped on early but don't like they designed w a loosable pin for dissembly kind of a surprise. Would be a great summer carry for those that use a bigger 75 pattern for winter or home defense since takes those mags though.
I think its lack of popularity stems more from the fact that police agencies as well as the military, are going to stick with whomever submits the lowest bid. Volume Glock sales are priced so low per unit, people would probably revolt if they knew how cheap a Glock actually is to make and market to LE/MIL.
Another thing that enters into that are the trade in values given to the old agency firearms. And yes, they get a good deal from Glock. Many times agencies have not had to pay out of pocket for new Glocks....they have gotten an even trade. And the widely available duty holsters and accessories for Glock help as well. And that can make or break an order.
Sorry John. I had very little time to produce this video between the time I finally got this pistol and the training I attended this past week. I wanted to use the pistol in the training session, so I mounted an optic to it immediately, and then recorded the video. I didn't really have time to shoot it with iron sights first. As it was, I barely got this video finished in time to appear today.
@@hrfunk Sounds like a busy week. Hope you get time to relax this weekend. Really like my Masadas, the first polymer guns I tried. IWI customer service is good. And the legal team even sends a caveat with spare magazines that installation should be done by a qualified gunsmith.😀
Have you ever tried the Jericho? I just have this weird thing for it. I guess i have a thing for guns you have the most limited holster and mag availability. Just like to suffer i guess. Missed the live this morning, hung my record single piece of 95ft gutter on a sushi restaurant this morning in 103° "realfeel" 😂❤ hope everything has been well
Chief, some of the reasons the Masada is not more popular with law enforcement and military has little to do with the pistol's design, function and quality. It has more to do with politics, the fact that the pistol is an Israeli product, and given the state of affairs in the modern world of gun control, they do not want to deal with an Israeli company IMO. The gun's size and weight precludes it from being a very viable deep concealable EDC, CCW for civilians when you compare it to the Micro 9's. This phenomenon is NOT just with guns either! The world has been deeply politicized as I am sure you are well aware of.
Having magazine compatibility just seems obvious these days. Not doing it is a strange choice for IWI here--especially if the Masadas are ever considered for domestic military use.

Thank you for making a longer vid that combines the tabletop with range time. God Bless those who Bless Israel
Full size grips in all 3 colors are avalable now from IWI for $79 , with matching grips and take down spring too.
My Masada has been awesome...thanks for the review...

It’s really cool that at this price point you get a super bomb barrel
The Masada Tactical was my first gun. Bought soon after October 7. It’s worked well at the range, and the money stays in the family.
As you saw in the, the Tactical makes my 3rd Masada. Suffice to say, I’m a fan!
From the close-up views, the finish is beautiful. My newest pistol is a Taurus Gx4 Carry and I'm seeing signs of wear after just ten weeks.

Im a fan of IWI. I have one of their lightweight AR pistols. Question HR....It seems that ammo is Very smoky for 9mm ....Is it just me ?
No. That ammo is pretty Smokey.

So true, very sad
For what it’s worth, I think the Masada 9S is an excellent CCW option.
Mr funk what holster are you using for your Masada
I cover that in this video: ua-cam.com/video/LP5b5UCUxUE/v-deo.htmlsi=zQxlMGmEsJQhjFGs

Yes.

I don’t know. Sig has a proprietary magazines and they managed to win the military contract.
Slim is a heavy smoker
The trigger won't reset on mine. I cannot even remove the slide?
Give IWI customer service a call. I’m sure they will repair it for you.
@hrfunk thanks they got back with me fast and gave me some troubleshooting.
i don't like fully ambidextrous guns that have smaller models that are not ambidextrous
cant find a Masada slim anywhere
I think the current situation in Israel is reducing the number of IWI products coming into the US.
