Yah, but I've never been a fan of vertical grips, I think I only have one on an M4 because it came with a Magpul Kit.

Is it possible to get the old broomhandle barrel shroud for this like you could for the HK 94?
I think they should fit, I remember those, I had one, OG HK, sold it a long time ago.
You may already know of this, but MFI make a nice barrel shroud for this firearm.

Can the barrel be swapped for a shorter one?
Yes, but…. If you go under 16”, this will become an SBR and will fall under the NFA. please follow local and federal laws.
Also,
Changing a barrel on an HK pattern riddle is not easy..
