Ingredients for making 1 loaf of bread:
2 1/4 cups flour ( bread flour or all purpose both work)
1 cup water
2 Teaspoons instant yeast
2 Tablespoons honey
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
2 Tablespoons oil
Bake at 350 F for 35 to 40 minutes

OMG this absolutely turned out amazing. I never cooked homemade bread in my life. I’m 53 now and I haven’t had homemade bread since I was little when mom used to make it like this, all homemade. Boy does this bring back great memories. Mom, I made your homemade bread! RIP Mom.. Only thing I didn’t do that you said to do, was wait for it to cool completely before you slice it. I couldn’t wait because I wanted my butter to melt just like when I was a kid.

I basically followed all the directions but not exactly. When you combine the flour and yeast mix, you just use a spatula and combine the ingredients until you think everything is combined well. Pour it over a floured surface and fold it onto itself a couple times until you can move it and shape it into a ball without it sticking. Dont incorporate too much more flour. I usually only use about half of a 1/4 cup. I dont even knead. I kind of just fold it together with a dough scraper. I think too much more flour kneading makes the bread too dense from my experience. So then, Put it in greased bowl to rise. Tip: turn your oven on at 350° until you feel warmth, not heat, just warmth, then turn it off. Put your dough in the oven to rise. I usually rise it for exactly 1 hr and 30 minutes in my oven while its off ofcourse and let it rise and get all those nice bubbles. Then take it out and put it on a floured surface again and shape it exactly how it shows in the original recipe. Let it rise. That's about 45 minutes for me then bake for 35 minutes. My husband loves it and eats it fresh every other day. Still gotta watch those carbs 😁
@@tonicaldwell6656 thats actually interesting to use the oven to proof the dough like you did, instead of raising the room temperature like i did, and you said to only fold it a couple of times with a small amount of flower helps too, thanks for the advice!
I tried it, but it didn't work for me. But when I added about enough flour and oil and kneaded it to the consistency shown in the video, it came out beautifully, just like the end result in the video.
My husband used this recipe to make his very first load of homemade bread (at age 69!) and it was AWESOME!!! Oh my gosh! The best homemade bread I’ve ever eaten and I used to make bread every week! It’s the first that had a soft crust! It’s amazing 🤩

Made this with Orange Blossom honey from WinCo and added some regular sugar to it, about a third and a half a third and baked it for the full 40 mins and it was absolutely devine! I made it for my mom's birthday and she wanted to eat the whole thing in one night lol. Thank you for these clear easy instructions! ❤️

Trick photography
The recipe didn't specify which type of flour to use, so I tried it with bread flour, the dough was very wet and sticky, but I've added some more flour to the cutting board to finish with kneading. After that it turned out very delicious and super soft. Just before baking I brushed some egg wash on top and sprinkled with toasted sesame seeds. I'm going to use the same recipe to make long rolls for Italian Beef Sandwiches next time. I'm saving this recipe, tyvm for sharing.

I will be doing this one. Simple and to the point No needless talking. Totally agree with the order of mixing the ingredients. I always mix the salt well into the flour before adding liquids. I never mix yeast and salt directly together. Thank you, and I will update later...

Thanks so much for the recipe. I just made it. But instead of using the mixer to mix the dough, I knead the dough with hands without a mixer. And also instead of a loaf, I made it into small buns. 😊😊

Easiest bread ever! I love it. My girlfriend and I have been modifying the recipe by changing out the honey for sugar then using honey right before the baking process to add the honey flavor to it. Super easy

I made this with wheat flour, I was a little too hasty with the press out before you roll it up.. and so my bread came out really round on the ends and smaller in the he middle. It's still cooling and I can't wait to make a peanut butter and honey sandwich tomorrow.

If you have a dough hook there's no need to knead it by hand after the dough comes together. You just reposition the dough in the mixer and continue with the dough hook.

This method is absolutely correct... People put everything in the flour and then the bread doesn't ferment....but this is the way... Bread is supposed to be made...

Thanks for your comment, I used 351 gr Flour , 225 gr water. I proofed the dough 2 times first in the bowl and second time after I moved it to the loaf pan.
Easy and tasty bread. I tried it with both AP and Bread flour and would definitely recommend sticking with the Bread flour for this one. It was a little more dense and the honey taste came through more. Give this a try!

Tried this recipe today as it was my first attempt at making bread and I’m not sure if it’s just me but I had to add a lot more flour than this recipe called for. It was still too sticky and couldn’t be handled. It tasted great though but I don’t know about the flour measurements.
It was to sticky for me too. I added 2 teaspoons more flour on the second try, but next time I will try a tablespoon.
It's not just you. I had to add way more flour for an actual dough to form so that I could knead it. *smh* We'll see how it turns out after the dough proofs. 🤔
