Satisfying refret on an acoustic guitar
Вставка

- In this video, I refret an acoustic Ibanez, with the fretboard defect corrected. The customer had a problem with the sound and quiestionable setup of the guitar. The reason was worn frets.
Old and worn frets can significantly affect the sound of the guitar and make it difficult to play the instrument, as it will be impossible to adjust the strings to the right distance above the neck.
Refret with the correction of defects of the fretboard will help to improve the convenience of playing the guitar, preserve the sound quality and make playing the guitar more comfortable. - Розваги
!!!! ATTENTION !!!!
We have a huge YT scam activity, so I remind you again - I do not hold any giveaways or contests, moreover, I do not have a public telegram channel, if someone try to contact with you like this - block them!
Be careful and don't fall for such scams.
I watch a lot of luthier and guitar tech channels but I have to say, the way you quickly get after the job at hand, with techniques born out of the confidence that true experience (performing many tasks over and over and discovering what works best) brings is so refreshing. I imagine you get HUNDREDS of keyboard 'experts' telling you you're 'doing it wrong' . No, you don't do things the way 'other techs do it'. Yet, here you are. Still working. Still pumping out the product. Still 'doing it'. If you weren't able to satisfy the musicians whose instruments they trust you with, you wouldn't be here, right? 😎👍
I watched different luthiers on UA-cam. Some, like Ted Wodford, approach a job in a very meticulous way, and some, like Jerry Rosa, will scare the hell out of you in the way he'll hack away at an old instrument, though in the end, both achieve remarkable results. Tanya has her own style and knows what works for her. Very impressive.
Tanya seeing you working with you great care and passion is relaxing and you are a great teacher for all of us.
Great work. Not sure why I enjoy watching fret work so much.
That is a fantastic job!
Thankyou for showing the process so well, it's incredible watching a skilled person do what they do :)
She’s really great at this - and it’s not as easy as she makes it look
You are incredible. The mastery he possesses in his hands is unique. This gift has a name, a work made with love!
simp
I would give Tania a guitar for repair without a second thought. Tania works professionally and very carefully...At this moment, Tania is the best guitar repairer on UA-cam
The pull tab ripping on a fresh set of d'addarios 😂 I felt that in my soul
Que trabalho incrível de restauração! Parabéns 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Nice job. Crazy how some people wind the entire string around the tuner posts. BTW (for those who may not know), the little notch on the plastic string winder is designed to be a bridge pin puller. Works great. 🙂
It looks to me, she has the same passion for this job as Ted Woodford. It‘s so pleasing to watch her and she is funny 😀
Ted is much more careful and planned & methodical about the things he does though. Like after nipping the tangs. There's still a burr there that needs to be filed down. She skips that step and tears up binding & fretboards in the process. Ted doesn't. They, aren't alike at all.
Shes better than Jerry Rosa for sure. But nowhere near Ted. Not even close. Ted's been doing it for like 30 years or something. It looks to me like she just rushes through it, trying to get done as soon as possible. She doesn't even take time to protect the fretboard when sanding frets. Oh no. Let's just sand scratches all over the fretboard too. Yea....no. Not like Ted. Not even close. Having passion isn't all of it. She needs the skills to go with that passion. She needs the patience. She needs to work on a lot.
You could have said nothing and it wouldn’t change a thing! But you chose to be a “Richard”
@@J_____Cshe is a dedicated luthier and fixed hundreds of guitars so this is probably the fastest way for her, anyway she is better than me and i only salivate at the thought of a hot ukranian chick (that knows what she is doing) fixing my guitars.
P.S i don't like that she sands the fretboard either but hell, could you tell that she did it? i couldn't.
Ehhhh.....she's an amateur. Ted is a magician. He's a seasoned, professional luthier who can build a high end acoustic from total scratch. Sorry but there is just a massive difference between the 2 of them.
Tanya is every bit the skilled person Ted is with perhaps less experience on the real difficult broken up guitars......not to say Tanya can't repair anything thrown at her. She truly is a master in the craft.
Просто вау!))
Залюбки відновив би свою стареньку гітару сам, але бачу, що це не тільки кропітка робота, а ще й робота, яка потребує інструменту) дякую за контент! Приємно дивитися!
Wish she was closer. What a talented craftsperson.
A pleasure to watch an artist at work on a masterpiece !
You do some incredible work I must say. I hope that you continue to make a name for your self. I enjoy just simply living vicariously through your videos. It’s truly an incredible thing to see an ok dingy guitar transform into a shiny beautiful work of art.
I love watching skilled people, great video, thank you. 🙂👍
Suggestion for you. Showing someone playing the guitar after the work is highly recommended.
Very captured by this young ladies work. So much attention to detail. Great job!
These are great videos! Please keep them coming, I've been building and repairing guitars for 15 years and these vidoes are wonderful to watch!
Thank you! Will try to make more)
You are blessed with a skill I only wish I had. I know this kind of work can be taxing, but to see the end product must be very rewarding. I admire your beautiful hands! I hope you and your family stay safe!
Beautiful work, very well done. Absolutely flawless!
Beautiful instrument once again, like magic only harder.
Watching your deliberate delicate touch it becomes evident how much time can be saved (less clean up - less damage) in the end. Your videos are very soothing and joyful to watch. Like Ted Woodford, you are someone that shows amazing passion and focus on your craft! Keep up the outstanding work!
❤ seeing your work and stay safe in Kyiv!
looks amazing! thanks for keeping these old instruments alive
Thanks :)
Ive been a pro luthier for 40 years, great job Tanya!

Absolute master of your craft. 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼
I always thought you have to put in the glue before installing the fret, but now I know there are several ways to go about it.
Fantastic video, thank you for sharing, Tanya!
Awesome. Well done. No irritating, chatter just quality craft work. Thanks !
Thank you :)
Beautiful Ibanez and work too
Thank you!
happy to see another luthier who approaches refrets the same way I do!
too much extra work is normally put into a refret doing it the hard and slow way. looks great!
Master level craftsmanship!
Always wanted to know how modern electric guitars are made/restored; Fascinating, high quality work in every step, enjoyed it, subbed
So nice, lots and lots of hours of dedicated love, can you imagine workers having your chamber as this awesome work
This just took some stress out of my day. Thank you.
Tanya, thank you for sharing your knowledge with these videos. I have have learned some new techniques from you. I agree with using the dead blow hammer.
I am just totally amazed of your talent and Your workmanship is totally incredible I enjoy watching your videos❤😊
Beautiful work. Great to watch
Great close ups to show the very skilful work 👍
These are great how-to videos. I haven’t been confident enough to attempt a re-fret yet, but you’ve demystified most of the process here.
Thanks! But there is a lot of practice needed in this work. So if its your first refret - better practise on some junk guitars :)
@@TanyaShpachuk I will make sure to do that. Great suggestion!
love the work and you do a great job! A couple tips I have, lower the soldering iron temperature or dont heat them up as much so you dont burn the binding. and after sanding the fretboard, before you clean the fret slots out you should paste wax, so you dont get pastewax in the slots. you will get better adhesion.
Yes, I was going to suggest the same, but ?
That shine! Gorgeous work!!
Brilliant video. Great angles. No music or superfluous chitchat. Keep them coming
Very nice work Tanya, I enjoy watching your videos. I look forward to more. much Love from the UK. 🎸👌🥰

Hi Tanya, great video, I just subscribed, I was undecided whether to do so or not but having seen a few of your videos now, I really like the no talking and commentary on-screen approach, thank you, and keep up the good work!
I found this talented gifted young lady on Tiktok. Very impressive work she does.

Gran trabajo. gracias por el video. saludos desde ESPAÑA.
Thats such an incredible job!! Very nice and well done . Im sure it plays better than the day it came in brand new out of the box
Thank you!
Good to hear, great to watch even better to learn
Nice work. I’m going to use your technique of stringing the guitar up on my next change out. I never thought of doing it the way you install them.
Really nice. I learned a bunch of basic thing watching, can't even imagine what I missed. After realizing you are working on some really high end guitars I had to subscribe.
People don't regret low end guitars. Surprising, I know.
ASMR meets Guitars. These videos are not only interesting to watch, they're super soothing. The disappointing groan when you didn't successfully open the string package in one pull cracked me up too.
You do absolutely amazing work 👍💯💯💯🙂🙂🙂
Thank you!
Good video, good pace with the editing too. You make it look easy, I bet it plays great now!
Really wish we had someone that good where I live 😢
Hey !!! 😃🙋🏻♂️🇧🇷 Your work is always incredible! Big hug 🤗❤️🇧🇷🇧🇷

My first fret Job was on a Custom shop E.S.P.Jeff Hanneman , 20 years ago , of course I Studied before I did it and had attended the Guitar Hospital In Big Rapids Michigan .
With all the Videos out there , you can do this your self if you are good at working with tools and problem solving .
Read and study all the Material you can , get the necessary tools and have at it .
Hello Tanya, I love your videos as you display your fabulous skills. Please stay safe.

Top quality ASMR video, thanks!
Awesome video and very nice work..
I have started using the U.F.O.s, by Hosco for fret crowning. It has made me sell off all my other crowning files. This episode was relaxing to watch.
Very Nice...thanks
Vid should be intitled:

your work is amazing, greetings from chile c:
Muito inteligente essa menina. 😮
Pulling frets next to those inlays always scares the heck out of me (I hate having to pit it back). Nice Job.
It is good to see you are still working with all the troubles in your country.
Thank you!
You make it look easy 👍🏼 subbed
Beautiful. I dont play so I cant understand from that side. But as a craftsman and a hardwood refinisher I can really appreciate this. You are very talented.
Tanya, tour transcript notes are a delight.
