- In this video I will review Glenfarclas 12 and let you know if I will keep sipping on the bottle until it's gone and replace it. Or if I will keep sipping on the bottle until it's gone and skip buying another bottle and move on to something else.

I really enjoy the entire Glenfarclas core line. The 15 has become scarce here in SoCal as well, but the 17 keeps me happy.
Agreed. The entire line up is enjoyable. I'm just waiting to get my hands on the 15. Cheers!
I bought this after your review and am really enjoying it. Thanks for the heads up on this very nice dram.
Glad you enjoy it! Cheers.
Great review Peter. I currently only drink bourbon and do not care for Scotch. However, I love hearing about whiskey’s other than bourbon, in case my palate changes.
Understandable. No judgment here. Some people are Bourbon lovers others Scotch. I'm whisk(e)y promiscuous. It's all good to me. Cheers!
Love the format! Nice video, sir!
Much appreciated. Thanks!
This is a great series. Just saw this bottle yesterday along with the 17 and 25 but never heard anybody talk about it so I didn't pull the trigger. Now I wish I picked it up. The 17 was $120 so maybe I'll wait for you to try it first. Cheers.
Thanks! I just responded to RHayes about the other Glenfarclas expressions. Take a look at what I said. I think the 12 yr. is worth the money based on what the others have to offer. Cheers!
I done a few high end , $200+ each. I can say the best Scotch I enjoy is for sure Glenfarclas 25 !!! I like the 17 as well. But for the money the 25 is worth the investment, it can last me 3-4 months.
Thanks for a helpful review. I love Glenfarclas and have bought a few over the years 10, 15, 21 and 105. Will be buying the 12 whilst on holiday in Lanzarote - only €32 for litre bottle. What's not to like? 😊 Johnnytee
Sounds like a good price for a good bottle. Still waiting to pick up the 105. Enjoy. Cheers!
Never had a Glenfarclas, good to know it's a solid pour.
It works for what it is. Easy sipping scotch with good flavor.
GET the 17 or 25 !!!!! both killer tasting and worth the investment !
@@mattbarz9538 Agreed. And if price is a concern, grab the 10 year instead of the 12. They taste identical to me.
Great review thank you
You're welcome. Cheers!
"The Dangerous Dram" 😂 Hard to stop when one gets going....a really lovely dram
It certainly is a good sipping dram. Cheers!
That's exactly how Ralfy the UA-camr described it -- "dangerously good." My bottle just arrived today, and it is darn good!
Another great one, Peter! Thanks. I’ve always been intrigued with the Glenfarclas, but never pulled the trigger. Any thoughts on how much different the older age stated versions are over this 12 year? Thanks!
Like I said in the video I think the 15 is the one to get if you can get it, but I think the others are very comparable. Glenfarclas uses ex-oloroso casks to age the scotch and I think they all have a butterscotch note to them and not the traditional dark fruit notes like dates, raisins, and figs. For me and where I would put my money...I am sticking with the 12 because I think they all taste pretty much the same. That's just my opinion.
@@whiskeyisajourney thanks!
Send me an email faspete@yahoo.com so we can talk samples.
It’s $62 in suburban Denver. As much as I like Glenfarclas, there are better 12 year options at the same price (I’m specifically thinking of Bunnahabhain 12). I gravitate more toward Glenfarclas at their 17 & 25 year offerings. Not cheap, but easy to find.
I just got the 105 and the 15 is on order from Whisky Exchange. My July First Friday Flight Fight will be all about Glenfarclas. The 105 knocked my on my butt. It's HOT! Hopefully it calms down a little before I do the video.
What is the randomizer app you use?
It's called Spin The Wheel - Random Picker I downloaded it from android Google play app.
You are lovely as well! Great review!
You're my sister. You're obligated to say that.
Is it really NCF at 43% ABV?
From the information I have it indicates non chill filtered. I thought it was strange at 43%. Other sights have it as "lightly chill filtered".
@@whiskeyisajourney What is your source? I have emailed the distillery and will let you know what they say. There is no such thing as "lightly chill filtered". If a whisky is non chill filtered, I don't see any reason to not put that on the label!
Please let me know if you find out. I'll look back through my notes and see where I picked up the information.
@@whiskeyisajourney I just read the back label and it says:
Natural Colour with a Fresh Tempting Nose that Oozes Sweetness
Full Bodied and delightfully sherried
Long and flavoursome with Lingering spicyness
That is a lot of marketing gibberish to distract us from noticing that it does not say non-chill filtered
I only found it to be have a chocolate note and not much else.
Chocolate is not a bad note to get. Butterscotch comes and goes with me. Cheers!
I think it may be filtered to a degree!😦
I thought I heard that somewhere as well, but was not exactly sure.
