episode 1 - The Un-Men Unleashed
---
When his henchmen fail to capture Swamp Thing, Dr. Arcane uses his Transducer machine to turn them into mutants to attack Swamp Thing. Two kids, Delbert and J.T. along with a game warden, Tomahawk and Bayou Jack with the help of Arcane's step daughter Abby come to Swamp Thing's rescue.
I remember watching this when I was a child. I was really into it. Had no idea that it only lasted five episodes. I hope those three Un-Men will be in the new Swamp Thing series DC is making.
If you're interested I've written some fanfiction stories based on ideas I had for episodes (plus a Power Rangers crossover I wrote for fun). They're available on fanfiction.net in the misc. cartoons section.
I remember this cartoon. My mom used to record this show along with others like Ghostbusters, TMNT, X-Men & more. I still have them. Thanks for the upload.
I remember walking around as a kid saying "Monsters don't keep journals!" ...I don't think I even knew what a journal was... LOVE THIS UPLOAD!
i only had this episode on vhs when i was a kid, and i watched it over and over, loved it
ahhh oh my god. this is the best thing ever. i just remember sitting, glued to the tv lovin every second of swamp thing. haha i think i still have a picture i drew/tryed to draw, with swamp thing trowing a tank. thank you so much for bringing such an amazing childhood memory back to me.
Haven't seen this in more than 15 years! Ha ha I remember enjoying the show when I was a kid... haha
I never seen this show when I was a kid. I only remember seeing the toys at my friends' house. The Jimi Hendrix parody song made me laugh.
Oh man, nostalgia! Thanks uploader, not seen this show in years :D
this show had the coolest set of action figures ever.
Wow, thanks for posting this.
Loved the show when I was younger.
Cheers
Love the MAN-THING look at 7:40-7:43 always loved both characters....MAN-THING & SWAMP THING forevah!
And suddenly John Constantine pop up behind the shadows, scares the shit outta everyone: "Evenin 'Squire."
This gives me so much nostalgia! I LOVED this show when I was a kid. Thanks so much!
Can't believe they only made 5, it seemed like more when I was a kid
Nope it was Len Carlson who provided the
vocals to Swamp thing. Ironic thing though,
Carlson also voiced Senator Robert Kelly on
the X-Men(90s) show & everyone knows that
Kelly was the infamous senator who rallied
the anti-mutant lobby. And here he is doing
a great job voicing one hell of a mutant
hero!! Now, that's amazing ;)
the figures were pretty dope, the one with the extending arm that snaps back when u squeeze the legs
I guess b4 Captain planet these two boys use to hang around in swamps?
His comic series is one of the best out of DC, not a lot of people read it though...a shame.
bless you for this post. This is a time machine.
Somewhere, Allan Moore is either crying and/or laughing.
...Wow, while looking up Ken Carlson's Imbd
page, I found out he died in 2006! Very sad
news, he was only 69 :( R.I.P. Len- you will
always be amazing!!
This nostalgia is blowing my mind...
best theme song ever?
Yes.
Hey no problem. I think that it's on DVD now, you could probably find it on Ebay.
Awsome man really cool watching this brings back so many memories.
wow, even as a kid this would have been pretty unwatchable. this makes the Wes craven film look good.
gosh i miss simple cartoons like this.
DUUUUDE the voice of Arcaine is the same voice of sabertooth from the Xmen animated series!
I was at work, talking about old kid shows... I'm a bit to old I guess, no one remembered Swamp Thing.... sooo it would be a great idea for a movie.
this was much better when i was little too, no wonder my mom would turn the family room tv and make me go in her room to watch it
Swamp Thing should be president-who else knows more about Greenhouse emissions than a plant-man?
There's something out there waiting for us, and it ain't no man.
holy shit balls!! i had a vhs of that when i was 6...nice!! i haven't seen that in nearly 18 years!
Had ALL the toys loved this show to death just wished they wouldve have a crossover with the ToXic Crusaders and fight Arcane and Killemoff!! Thanks Batmitey!!
Heck yeah! That would have been awesome!
This is so many toons rolled into 1
dude i didnt even know that he had an animated series until i looked on google for the first movie and thatsd how i found this
reading the new swamp thing comics and keep hearing this theme...
I love the intro song haha
Lock them in the attic...FOREVER!
What an evil diabolical plan!
Anyone else find it amusing the swamp thing theme song is a parody of "wild thing"?
I love that! It's such a cool idea for a theme song!
I've ordered this on DVD hopefully it'll arrive in a couple of days :D
Wow. I had no idea Michael Uslan was attached to this.
Beat'em down Swamp Thing!
who would win in a fight? Swamp Thing or Man-Thing? that would be a bad ass fight.
Tobad it never got a real chance, it was one of the cooler and different heroes.
you gotta admit the artwork is good though
I can’t believe Swamp Thing endorses littering. Where did he throw that steering wheel?
@mastermonarch
Swamp Thing is alread an acclaimed Comic Book series by Alan Moore. Running in the mid 80's, it pretty much created the Vertigo imprint and proved to an audience that mainstream comics could be poignant, poetic and dark.
And Alan Moore didn't even created the character!
This is loud, brash, cheesy. But at least it's a little fun.
8:51-8:54, Abby is so adorable.
i love the theme
wooow swamp thing song that shit is hilarious! 'swamp thing, you are amazing'
dont diss i loved this program :P
Weedkiller looks like a non-cannibalistic CHUD.
when i was little i got some green shit out of the pond poored hair lotions and stuff on it and hoped it would turn into swamp thing. lol.
I'm guessing they never did an adaptation of Alan Moore's 'The Anatomy Lession' or had John Constantine in this cartoon.
I remember when i got food stains on my glow in the dark swamp thing action figure!!!! I was displeased to say the least :(!!!!
I can't stop laughing...no wonder they never made more than five episodes. The half-assed theme song...the poor voice acting...the childish plots...the shameless merchandising plugs...I can't stop laughing XD
dude, this show was not started in 2007. I watched when I was like 5 years old and I'm 22 now. it was like early 90s
it was added to youtube in 07, the actual series is from the early 90s
Hey, I had a few toys from this. Cool.
I think......I like this cartoon.
I didn't know that Billy from Predator was personal friends with Swamp Thing
@CaptainKirkC the kid's hand is doing the "devil horn/rock on" symbol with his left hand....most people think it just means ROCK AND ROLL! but it is originally an old occult symbol basically representing satan. just thought it was interesting that it was in a kids show...also it's more like 7:15 ha
Nice of them to give Len Wein and Berni Wrightson a creators credit here,
Too bad this show was such a cheeseball toy commercial that it's something of a badge of shame for both gentlemen here.
3:26 best part of the episode, lol
@DirtyRobot3 Which one? The first one, or the Return of Swamp Thing? I like the second one best.
That theme song is awesome as shit. Cheesiest thing ever.
Too bad, I guess the Swapy/Abby lovemaking bit might have been intense for a kiddie cartoon trying to peddle their Swampthing toys, The Moore stories were the best apart from Wein and Wrightson's work but you really couldn't get something to equal them in a conventional cartoon anyways, I notice they used (stole) some elements of Steve Bissette's artwork just on the surface, of course they did the same thing in that eyesore film
'Return Of The Swampthing'
@DeusExAngelo It's cool, he may have not created him but he fleshed out the story.
I have a feeling they planned to make a killing off the toys...I bought em, but when the series failed you feel kinda gyped in a way.
epic comics....
I had this on VHS
This show began in the early 90s
@DeusExAngelo seeing as how Swamp Thing wasn't created by him and he left DC, divorcing himself from something he did create, I highly doubt it.
@CineRecon
same here i even remember having basically all the figures and they only made 5?
are you all nuts thinking that swamp things sucks??
just read the comic books.
theyre so cool
Wait, how rare are frogs in the part of the world they're in?
Or are those rare mutant frogs or something?
the bat guy in the inro looks alot like man-bat from batman
SCRAMBULLLLL!!!
@CineRecon, I know! I remember watching a lot more than this! That's selective memory for you.
lock them in the attic...Forever!
WoW 7:41 - man-thing?
@KikumaruKaidoh That's what I was thinking - Optimus!
@DeusExAngelo So is Jimi Hendrix... And if Moore thinks V for Vendetta is a disapointment...
@sneezle92 Oh...My mistake.
I guess I thought he did because he did do an excellent run with Swamp Thing.
Hello childhood..
At least the live action show was darker
I used to think this was the coolest movie Ever. Or show, I rented it from video warehouse so it was just one movie.
it was already a movie in 81'
lock them in the attic..... FOREVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@jorgepetrucci i had the same thing....do you remember the commercials in the tape? what were they for?
Obviously, the black kid is going to be dessert. Who wouldn't want a little bit of chocolate after their meal? ;D
nope. they stayed the hell away from any Alan Moore stories
nice
The stearing wheel NOOOOOOO OHHH OHHH
SWAMP THING YEAH
Is swamp thing from marvel because i saw it at my hulk comic book.
so is this based off of alan moore's version or the original?
Was that Kwame of the Planeteers
Why do they need a big car-thing to catch frogs?
