Hello Andy, You do not know how happy I am when I see review of over ear cans that used with Dongles. I am not so fan of in ears as I do not like the touch and feels in my ear canal so much. And you Andy are one and maybe the only that make such good subjective reviews with over ear-dongles. Really happy and to see dongles drive correctly over ear headphones. So much space saved and enjoy music in many places in house and out of it with no worries! Have a nice day!
Great review. Aune has been making very good products recently. Personally I own an IEMs from Aune named Aune E1 which have been produced only for Polish market for the past few years and they have a lot of great reviews here and people in Poland love them a lot. Greetings :)
As a newbie, i always learn so much from watching your videos. I appreciate that you go out of your way to explain and demonstrate everything you're saying. The wide soundstage of the AR5000 sounds very appealing 😊 also i was wondering if you prefer the copper 4.4mm cable you bought separately, instead of the stock 3.5mm cable
Thanks. This means a lot to me. And yes the copper 4.4mm BAL cable is what I prefer to use more, not only it allows me to use 4.4mm BAL, it also offers refined smoothness to the overall decays and organic touch to AR5000 timbre. Thanks again
I came to the AR500 from DT700 80ohm. I'm loving the extra detail. And larger soundstage that comes with the open design. They are fantastic headphones.
i just got mine and yeah i tried it. I agree with the placement thing. Its awesome if put futher away soundstage bigger if put nearer it become narrow and intimate. Its really an awesome headphone
I've always been searching for versatile iems that can play lots of different genres. Finally found it, but at a cost. Elysian Gaea. I'm curious as to how these would fit compared to Hifiman Edition XS. My wife bought me the XS back in January, and I don't like how they sit on my head. My son and his wife love them, so I may gift the XS to them and get something more comfortable, but in the same tonal sound range. Awesome video, Andy!

Hi Andy, I love Grado SR80 for metal music in the past, is looking for a new IEM/headphone for daily use with my PC (gaming/music/movie/UA-cam). What would you recommend accordingly among: AR5000, Sivga Nightingale/Luna, HD600, Sundara. Please let me know if there’s other good options. Thanks Andy!
I used to be a Grado fan too SR60, Alessandro MS1, SR225 and SR80. If you love Grado style of sound, then I recommend either LETSHUOER S12 2024 or Hidizs MP145, for headphones, you can try FiiO FT1
I mainly listen to classical and rock. If I already have the HD6XX, Ananda (original), and FIIO FT1, do you think the AR5000 would provide an incremental benefit over the other three?
Benefit? not really since what you have is already impressive. More like different tuning of which will be suitable if you looking for something flatter and transparent, neutral and uncolored. AR5000 is the least colored compared against all the headphones you already have
@@AndyAudioVault So...some context is needed. I had actually bought the HD 600 back in 2014 and returned it because it just didn't impress me much (at the time, I had used it with an entry-level DAC/amp stack), and I went back to using my non-audiophile "consumer-grade" headphones. Then, I bought the HD 6XX in 2017 and sold it because, once again, it just didn't impress me much (at the time, I had used it with a mid-tier DAC/amp stack), and I went back to using my non-audiophile "consumer-grade" headphones. Then, in 2021, I bought the HD 800 S along with the Ananda and Arya, along with several pairs of similarly priced DAC/amp stacks, even going all out on high-end cables, because I really wanted to find something I'd fall in love with. To my surprise, the cheapest of these headphones (the Arya) plugged straight into my 2010 MacBook Pro sounded just as good to me as the Arya or the HD 800 S plugged into the expensive (to me) DAC/amp stacks. I was thoroughly confused why I couldn't tell the difference. While the Ananda absolutely did impress me, I wasn't sure if I might not be able to tell the difference between the Ananda and something even cheaper, like the Sundara. But I was exhausted of A/B testing, so I just returned or sold it all and went back to using my non-audiophile "consumer-grade" headphones. Now, in 2025, I've been wanting to give it another shot, entering at a lower price level than my last effort (since I couldn't tell the difference between the Ananda plugged straight into my laptop and the other higher-end cans paired with dedicated DACs and amps). So I once again bought the Ananda-this time heavily discounted-along with the FIIO FT1 and, because I keep hearing how good it is, the 6XX for a second time (and my third time trying the HD 600 series). I'm still waiting to receive my Ananda and FIIO FT1, but my 6XX arrived today, and while it certainly doesn't sound bad, I honestly don't really find it to sound much if at all better than my non-audiophile "consumer-grade" headphones (the most well-known of which is the AirPods Max, which I do listen to over a wired connection, though I'm not sure if it really sounds better to me that way versus over Bluetooth). I do know from my 2021 experience that I will (hopefully) find the Ananda to sound noticeably better, but I'm not sure whether the FIIO FT1 and AR5000 would lean closer to the Ananda or the HD 6XX in terms of impressing me. I'd ideally like to have two headphones-one open-back, one closed-back-so good that I'm comfortable selling the rest of my headphone collection (aside from keeping a pair of wireless earbuds and/or AirPods). So I guess my question is: If I'm satisfied with the Ananda but not the HD 6XX (I suppose mainly due to the lack of sound stage, though there may be more at play), do you think it's worth trying the AR5000? Or is it unlikely to offer something meaningful that the Ananda doesn't already offer? Sorry to dump an essay on you, but it's been a decade-long journey to try to find audiophile bliss without overpaying. 😅 I wonder if I should just splurge on a high-end headphone and call it a day, without worrying about whether my non-audiophile ears would've been equally content with something far cheaper.

Hi Andy, good day. If budget allow, Sennheiser HD600 should be a better candidate performing neutral overall while support more genre music? While I start enjoying my music with the IEM Rose Technics SC5P you introduced earlier, I kind of worried to wear IEMs for more than 2 hours per use. Is it using Headphone should be more feasible for wearing more than 2 hours? Between AR5000 and HD600, AR5000 offers flatter sound which makes it more suited for neutral monitoring and HD600 offers denser natural timbre. The $49 Aune copper 4.4mm BAL cable is fairly priced when you consider that many other HiFiMan premium cables are priced higher at over $100 and some of them are over $300, good cables are not cheap, and cheap ones tend to perform not as good - I have tried many so I know this for a fact

Very wise answer Andy, you’re right!
Thanks so much
I see, only in Amazon can send to my country that 4.4mm. Will be a little bit more expensive
Sounds to neutral for my tastes. Sivga Robin seems more like it would suit me... 🤔
May i ask if you have tested the larger Hifiman such as the Edition XS or Ananda Nano.
No i haven't
Thanks
Where would you rank the ar 5000?
Between sundara and hd600?
Also is the earcup and headband replaceable?
Yes, AR5000 bridges the gap between HD600 and Sundara. As for replacement headband or pads, will need to inquire Aune on this
Is the resolution and detail retrieval on par with the sundara and hd600? Just wondering.
Worship him err... i meant worship aune!
🤘
These headphones have a peak at 8500 hz, which ruins the sound completely for my ears. Without eq, i cannot listen to them.
Plsss tell me, how's the treble of Aune Ar5000 when using Hiby FC6? Is it gonna be lacking in treble?
No, the the Treble is highly detailed but smooth
@@AndyAudioVault thanks :) 👍
