  • Finally had a chance to rear-wheel dyno my truck after the motor was built and broken in. We were concerned about the air/fuel tuning more than power numbers, but hey, we got to see numbers, too!
    As it sits, it builds:
    143.19 lb/ft of torque @ 3,600 RPM and 120.03 hp @ 5,100 RPM at the rear tires.
Calculating for 15% drivetrain loss, its making about 169 lb/ft of torque, and 142 hp at the crank, or 43% more torque and 67% more horsepower than stock.
Calculating for 20% drivetrain loss, its making about 179 lb/ft of torque, and 150 hp at the flywheel, or 52% more torque and 76% more horsepower than stock.
From what I can tell, the drivetrain loss is probably closer to 20%. Not bad from an 8 valve N/A setup. :) Sure beats the 85 hp and 118 lb/ft of torque it came with stock at the crank! (Or 68hp and 94lb/ft @ RW @ 20%)
Thank you to Derek Stewart of D.S.R.E. in Portland, Oregon, for the amazing work you did squeezing significantly more power out of a turd! Now it's actually fun to drive :)
