- Hi guys, this flight review video is about my recent flight from New York JFK to Hong Kong on Cathay Pacific's Boeing 777-300ER in business class , this flight departed at 09:00 (NYC time) and arrived at 14:00 (HKG time).
This was the second time that I took CX841 this year, I also took it in April and that flight was far from good. Cold flight attendants who acted like they wanted to do as less as possible, bad food and the lack of a mattress pad also contributed..
However, this flight turned out to be one of my best business class flights ever...!
Everything on this flight was just good, the flight attendants, the food, the seat and amenities.
Cathay Pacific introduced the new mattress padding and new blanket back in October and also introduced slippers.
The only thing I didn't like on this flight was the fact that the floor around my seat was soaken wet as the cart with the ice cubes was leaking on the previous flight.
However the FA's put a plastic sheet and thick blankets on the floor so my feet didn't get wet.
It will take a while for Cathay Pacific to be as good as they were before, but I have no doubt that they will be back on the top with airlines like Singapore Airlines, EVA and ANA if they keep this up!
The plane, the seat, the flight attendants and the food, I would rate it a solid 9.

Hong Kong is truly a beautiful place, growing up my father worked for Cathay pacific so we would always travel. Unfortunately we moved to America but whenever we go to HongKong my heart fills with joy
Long time ago, I flew from Hong Kong to Seoul via Cathay. Bumped up to the business class, must have overbooked the economy. Lucky me, it was the flight of my life. Three plus hour flight went pretty fast. Food and drinks were great. Inflight service was unbelievable! Now I can afford business class, but it doesn't feel as same as that memorable flight. I was young, poor and got to taste what good life can be.

If you were to add music, might as well use Gran Turismo-style jazz or lounge because it's soothing enough to feel like as if you're traveling the world. Either way, this video was great. Hoping Covid is over so that we can all travel again
I much prefer the videos without music unless there's a voiceover as well (and talking to the camera on the flight - usually in the toilet haha). In those cases music can set the tone for the non speaking portions

God, I miss traveling. I miss planes. I miss the way my stomach flips a bit during takeoff. I even miss the TSA!
My favorite thing when flying is always the take off part. It always amazes me how we are able to take flight. Some small gratitude always takes place during that short moment for me. Watching how you always capture the them, makes it very enjoyable to me. It’s like I’m feeling flying together there with you. Thanks for the great video

I flew London from Auckland in August 2019. Being a code share, it was Air New Zealand to Hong Kong and then Cathay from HK to London. 16a was a good seat, but the aircraft was showing signs of wear, the crew very discreet and not very visible after the initial cabin service. I flew Air New Zealand on the Auckland to Hong Kong leg and they were outstanding. The business class service was so much better with Air NZ.
My favorite part 5:28 engine start and checking flaps.. and the take-off so cool, you see the shadow of the plane in some of the clouds.
Wow the quality in this video also the takeoff you filmed was amazing !!
Imagine someone telling Orville and Wilbur, "Hey, man. Someday your invention will stay airborne for 16 hours, have bathrooms, seats that turn into beds, and you can fly from NYC to Hong Kong in one shot

I flew on CX last year from JKF to HKG. They have a very fast on board service. The cabin crew nailed the attention all the way. I loved the entire flight.
Really, one of the best lounge JFK.

Nice review. I'm flying CX841 for the first time in business tomorrow. Good to hear that the Cathay experience looks to be improving, after steadily declining service on CX830/831 over the last couple of years I've been flying to the US from Asia on Qatar who have been amazing, particularly with the service. Hopefully the FAs tomorrow are just as good as on your flight!

Thoroughly enjoyed this flight vlog, mate! It does seem Cathay has slipped in the past, but is now reclaiming their place among the elite airlines once again. I haven't been on Cathay in a while but would love to give them another go, especially after watching this video.
As for ipods....yes they still serve a purpose, believe it or not LoL. Sometimes it's just preferable to have a different device play music, for example during exercise. An ipod is significantly smaller and weighs significantly less as well. If I'm out running I'd rather not have to lug around my phone.
But anyway, again, great job on the video!
