@@strugglinoutdoors I agree...I was in stitches cause that is exactly how I felt when I went Chukar hunting. That was before the misfire...that was crazy and just flat Sh** luck!!
F Me To Hell And Back!!! That is some really tough hunting/shooting in some insane terrain! WOW! Brutal! Sometimes it goes like that. I would clean that barrel really well and use some different ammo next time. You'll get 'em next time.
I'm not sure you know how lucky you were. That wad was in the barrel from the first shot, which must have been a light load because the powder either drew some moisture or the brass was cracked. The wad must have been in the chamber just enough to stop the second shell from seeding well enough, which is why it didn't go off the second time. If that wad would have traveled an inch or two farther the gun would have probably exploded in your face. Major inconvenience to have to end your hunt for the day but less of an issue than blowing up your gun and sustaining injuries which would end the hunt too.
What amazing terrain, views, and bad luck. I have had that happen to others in my parties over the years. You didn't get a good burn on the powder and it didn't provide enough "umph" to exit the payload. Keep the videos coming. I am headed to MT in 2 days. Maybe I'll get something worth posting.
This will probably be the last case of federal I buy for a long time. I'm starting to become a big fan of bioammo. They shoot really well for me and they are biodegradable which is nice when I can't find all my empties
You said there was powder in the gun right when it happened. I had that happen once. The primer goes off and that is enough to get the wad up the barrel part way. The heat from that expands the wad like it should do seal the gas. Just bad luck that the shell either didn't get a full load of powder or the powder didn't burn. Mine was the latter.
Oh yeah. It's a beautiful place and I'm happy to have found birds. Part of the fun in all this is the challenge, the struggle, and the failure. Can't wait to get back out. Thanks for watching
You have convinced me to bring tools when I get to chukar hunting! Thank you for sharing this crucial lesson.
Man, if you could sum up chukar hunting in a video this one hits all the points
The agony and disappointment is what makes it so much fun. Lol.
@@strugglinoutdoors lol, that is for sure
You commentary is cracking me up! LMAO!! Exactly how I feel!! Keep up the vids man!!!
Thanks. It's funny to go back and watch some of these disasters.

That's exactly what happened. Out of the 100s of thousands of rounds I've shot it just had to happen then
Man I feel your pain, was just up there. Love the commentary
It just wouldn't be as fun if I didn't suck lol
We've had issues with federal shells too. I'm 100 on the Winchester super x.
This will probably be the last case of federal I buy for a long time. I'm starting to become a big fan of bioammo. They shoot really well for me and they are biodegradable which is nice when I can't find all my empties
For future reference, cut a shell in half, primer only, and fire it. This will remove the wad from your barrel, and not harm the barrel.
No shit? Good to know. I would have tried just about anything that day

What shells were you shooting when the wad got jammed?
Federal speed shok. I have a couple cases of them and that's the first issue I've had. I've been shooting them since without anything weird
bummer deal man. At least you got into some birds before disaster came through though!

Living up to your sn. Could have been worse though
The pain keeps me coming back lol
That’s a bummer man , I’ve had days like that too , all ya can do is go have a beer and try again next time/
Thanks. Struggling and failure is all part of the game and only motivates me to get back out. Thanks for watching
