I replaced my JL TW3-12d4 and c3 components with a DD Audio SL12d4 and DD Audio D-C6.5b and hands down the loudness and clarity vs the jl is night and day.
Jl is only 300 rms I want to run a d4s jp8 which runs at like 800-1000 rms do you think 2 of these jls will sound good and are compatible with the amp I want to run?

u 4 got the fqz -hz 4 the JL. I like JL and was a dedicated user for over 20yrs but JL is now over priced now for even there low end products they pull the price of high end lines sold by say Kicker or Rockford. thanks for sharing

I am also trying to reserve space, and also keep in mind, I am not keeping this car forever since I am in Japan, and may be returning back to the states in 2-6 years. Do you know anything about the underseat subwoofers?
zero experience with any of thsese but i'd love to try the rockfords, always loved rockfords. I do have experience with the kicker cvt 12 and they were pretty decent aswell. any recommendations for a small box in a small car?

I'm incredibly torn. I really appreciate anyone, be it manufacturer, retailer or industry 'tuber bothering to put out aftermarket ICE content. The market is just so small that I find it difficult to believe it's worth the effort. That being said, I'm uncomfortable with a video that presents itself as a product tour and then becomes a sort of review, but some of the information contained inside it is borderline at best, and flat out misleading at worst. Chiefly: Saying that a sub that can play up to 600hz is somehow superior to one that only plays up to 250hz. Any car audio sub should be crossed over at 80-100hz *absolute max* so the frequency response above that is of no interest whatsoever. Covering the mounting depths while omitting the recommended enclosure size is missing the point. For example, while the JL sub is deeper than the JBL, it actually requires a smaller box, so may be *more* suitable in applications where you have less space! I'm sure that someone in the CAS team knows all this - they must have forgotten more about car audio than I'll ever know! Please keep putting out this kind of content, but people will take your word as gospel so maybe get one of the tech boys to review the script before filming? Looking forward to the TW3 video - they *are* monsters!

I have shallow mount L7T kicker subs. The shallow mount squares pound and are amazing

One platform tested the jl against audio mobile and audio mobile did much better for a little cheaper price and handled more watts as well.
I like these kinds of videos, but I think the X-max of the subwoofer should also be showed because that also has a lot to do with the output.

JL tw3 all the way, but unfortunately you can probably build a whole JBL or RF system for the cost of 2 JL subs alone lol. Still love JL!

Usually not able to dive too much deep like 30-40hz with authority

For the sub, yes. But when you factor in air space for your enclosure, they are definitely shallow.

Most rated shallow I’ve found is the sundown SML @ 500 rms
