  • Dan is an absolute training aid addict, if it's out there he probably owns it.
In this video Dan looks at one of his absolute favourite training aids, the Swingyde. This lightweight, inexpensive piece of kit can do an awful lot to help your backswing…

I've watched about 12 video tutorials for this device and this video is THE best one! It's explained clearly and perfectly how to set up this device and use it. It's dummy proof......if you watch this video you CANNOT screw it up! Trust me, if it were possible to screw up, I would have done it🤣🤣

Just purchased one of these from Amazon and tried it out today. I normally hit a high cut / fade with my irons with poor weight transfer with an average 7 iron of 130 yards. Now I hit 40 to 50 balls today with this, all at around a 60% swing length / speed and I am getting a lower draw, with 60% power dropping at 110 to 120 yards, nearly every shot having that nice thwack that you get when you compress the ball. This is without a doubt the best golf aid I have ever bought and used. Absolutely brilliant. My dispersion was so much better as well.

Great video mate. I have this training aid have no problem with short to medium irons but with long irons and woods I tend to end up with an open club face at the top of the back swing (must be something to do with the way I hinge with having a flatter swing plain with longer shafts) I end up flipping more at impact to square the club face because of this and in a result end up with weak high shots and no consistency, would this training aid work with a driver? any feed back would be great.

I think you're onto a winning formula, everyone does club reviews, but no one good that reviews training aids. Would've been good to put a link in where to buy, I don't know why you didn't put an affiliate link. how about affordable launch monitors , like skytrak? Also those devices that u put into the end of your clubs to calculated swing path and speed, do they really work , you could test them against your track man and give your thoughts. Swing recording apps, advice on how to film your swing.

Does it seem possible that you could practice with the swingyde and still not get the toe facing up towards the sky in the back swing? Is there anyway that I could be cheating it? When making an swing without the swingyde I have a closed club face. I have been told to try to hook the ball to get the feeling of opening and closing the club face. Any thought or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Dan, I have a fake one of these. It seems to be OK as the original is really pricey for a bit of plastic. Anyway my question is: are you meant to have the wrists set in the follow-through as it does in the backswing? When you hit the shot I noticed that the "C" comes inside your left forearm. Also, you said you line it up with the bottom groove and not the top line of the club head right? Just confirming!

Should it still be set parallel to the leading edge if you have a strong grip. I have heard Zach Johnson has it set at 1 o'clock to allow for his strong grip. What are your thoughts?
