This is a great way to make a whole meal in just a few short minutes with the Vitamix. The speed of the blades can actually heat ingredients in the container to a boil in just about 8 minutes enabling you to cook various types of soups and other hot recipes.

Soup looks good! Btw I watched a Vitamix video made by the manufacturer and they mentioned to only use the tamper tool to push items down to blades. After doing so they said to remove the tamper as it will affect the natural vortex function of the vitamix. Just wanted to share.

Simple and to the point. Good information. Try adding a small amount of corn, a little cilantro, and maybe a handful of corn chips. My daughter loves soup for lunch and she takes this to school in a thermos everyday. Thanks!

I have been using Vitamix machines for the better part of 9 years and the tamper can in fact speed up the suction of the blades when it is properly used while the machine is running. It usually works better with thicker mixtures to pull the contents down into the blades by moving the tamper in an up and down motion. As long as there are no air pockets that form in the mixture the tamper can be a very handy tool to have when using frozen ingredients.

@PapillonPower Well that's a given, the broth is raw is what I meant. The cooked chicken and beans are optional. You can throw in a raw tomato or cabbage on the low speed to get some good raw texture in the soup and keep it completely raw.

Many people doing demonstrations leave the tamper in the container -- this hinders the blending by interfering with the vortex that the container produces in order to keep the ingredients circulating to the blades properly.

I don’t doubt it’s good. But I’m not sure I would make soup. Although vitamix are used at restaurants, I wonder what a real chef would think about this method. Compared to making it in a pot; wait until breaks boil, season it, etc. Im talking about the composition of the Soup when boils on fire than the blender, that changes flavoring.(if it does) otherwise great blender though.

***WARNING***: making a soup letting the blades process the food at high
speed for minutes will leach inorganic chromium and nickel into the
food, more so if the soup is acidic (tomato), this happens also in
    normal SS cookware: (
    www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4284091/ ).
    We are
talking about hours of cooking time in this study but the high speed and
force of the blades have the potential to leach those metal faster, how
much faster idk but TITANIUM would be a far better option.
