I have a 3x3m with a 70cm wall on my hot pot made out of concrete with molds, should I paint it or just leave it as is with smooth concrete walls and floor?
Hi , exellent videos. Have you heard of a material called chukum, i live in México they sell this from Yucatán México its an option instead of painting more expensive than painting but less expensive than plaster and its suposed to last 5-7 years or more
Hi Steve, we are rendering an old swimming pool with ordinary sand cement mortar. I have big bags of tsp so plenty of that. After applying that and rinsing off can we paint with a good quality exterior emulsion paint? I have been told this can be used in place of expensive swimming pool paint
DO NOT use aything other than pool paint in a pool. Even paint FOR a pool is barely good enough to use in a pool - ask any concrete pool builder and they will tell you that. If you use any form of house paint in your pool you WILL have problems.
@@Swimmingpoolsteve Thanks Steve. I'm reading your instructions for bonding to old concrete online and will read your info on rendering too. Very helpful
There are a few options, but none of them are great. High build epoxy paint is what most people in your situation would do over rough concrete. There are roll on "plaster" products, but I do not endorse them. There are torch on products like ecofinish but you have to hire them to do it. Tile is the high end option but is harder to do than you would think just by looking at the job. At the end of the day you might be best to hire a plaster crew.
