Is there some kind of bonding agent you can apply to the concrete first? When I looked at stucco over a concrete wall or even existing paint that was what was recommended. Of course that will cost more and take longer so I'm sure most people painting would rather avoid it. You could always just move your pool to the South West desert where humidity gets below 10%! However at that time of year it's probably 110F or more and your plaster will crack, blister, and fail in a heart beat which leaves you stuck because it is then too hot to patch. Everyone here says never drain your pool once it gets into the high 80s or you're doomed.
Hello! My girlfriend has an upcoming job painting a pool. We can’t find enough colors of paint for the mural. Could you please suggest paints to use? Thanks!
Hi, Steve, my pool's tile which is above the water area recently failed a lot into the pool. Can I use epoxy paint to paint it to instead of re-tile it? Thanks for your advice!
Are the cement-based multi-coat systems (like SiderCrete) a realistic option against a bare concrete floor/ICF foam wall substrate? From this and the last video, I'm guessing that it is way more difficult than paint but not nearly as rugged as professionally installed plaster. I ask because all of the ICF block manufacturers seem to recommend this process.
I have seen too many sidercrete failures to promote that system. It delaminates and then you need sandblasting to remove it and use something else like plaster or tile. Large format porcelain is for sure the best option with ICF.
Awesome explanation as usual. I'm very grateful for your videos. Thank you
We just painted our pool does this help preserve & protect it?

Wish we could see some examples of the paint types and how they look and go on.

Good info, yet I wish you covered how long one can expect the different paints to last.
I will try to make one of those for you. In short 2 to 3 years for acrylic, and 5 to 7 years for epoxy.
