Jantelle, I’ve sung in choirs since I was a young boy. It was the joy of my life. Covid came and shut it all down. Now I am old and I am not the singers I was, but I listen to these marvelous young singers and I sing along with them and through them with great joy.
Absolutely stunning. I miss choral singing and it took me years to train my first soprano voice. Sadly my vocal chords were damaged from being intubated with my pregnancy and have not been able to sing like I used to. I've lost my range and it saddens me so much. Feeling nostalgic after listening to this performance.
My friend has also suffered damage through an illness, but she can still sing better than the rest of us without trying. Even if you only sing what you can it at home with family or friends it will lift your heart. Consider others who may not even be able to speak or are deaf, and be thankful for what you can still do.
On holiday and just happened to wander into the church where Shakespeare is buried and came across these amazing people who where singing,so lucky,over an hour of wonderful, beautiful music,thank you all so much.

An interesting fact: Ola Gjeilo certainly had the natural phenomenon called "aurora borealis" in mind when he composed this piece, but he used the lyrics from the biblical book Song of Songs (Chapter 6, verses 4 and 5). Christian literature often applies this passage from the Song of Songs to the beauty of Our Lady. I frequently use this piece for my personal prayer. Congrats to everyone involved in this!
This video just gave me peace. It's wonderful how you harmonize (musically as well as personal interactions while singing) and the video has beautifully rounded up the sensation of peace that Northern Lights carries. I especially love how every voice had space to be heard in the mix. That is not the case with all recordings of this piece. Thanks for taking the time to do so well. 🙏
The composition itself is of a staggering, deeply stirring beauty and eloquence. Which is at least doubled by this performance of this superbly singing choir. A magyar tud énekelni, és JÓÓÓÓÓ!!!
