Cavill is a CLASS. ACT. With so many actors AND actresses kinda being rather snooty now it seems, it's just nice and refreshing to see a big name actor still radiate kindness and heart. Henry absolutely deserved better. I wish him nothing but the best.
That's because he doesn't only respects the fans, he HIMSELF is a fan. The guy is a geek and he understands how much these characters mean to us, which is rather unique these days
Not only that but to go out with an eloquent send off to the fans and character itself when so many others could’ve been petty and rightly so- I would have been and ran my mouth, but nope. He was smart and did the classy thing, and wish the fans and character well in the future and thankful for the opportunity. Damn.. they should really hire that man to play some sorta superhero or something …
He really does get to do projects he’s passionate about. It’s kinda become his thing and that’s rad! Also, he’s a gorgeous, rich, and charming. I imagine he’ll be fine.
I hope it’s good, I honestly feel it’s unlikely it’ll be as good as the Astartes shorts tho. Like the first ep of the Witcher, it could be easy to fall into over explaining the lore rather than naturally exploring the world
I doubt it will be good, not because I don't trust Cavill, but because I don't trust Amazon. Those execs are gonna be shoving their dicks down his throat the whole time and making all kinds of "creative decisions" on the writing. Plus, I don't think they have the budget to really do it justice.
James Gunn is going to have to be surgical when it comes to casting every new actor in this new DCU. Comparisons will always be made with previous versions, but in this case the level of REQUIREMENT will be much higher.
@@redmangoose182 That’s how I see it. The only one people kept asking to return was Cavill. Gadot warn out her welcome after 1984, and Ben Affleck didn’t win most people over.
@@redmangoose182 while at first I didn’t care about Margot Robbie Harley Quinn, after birds of prey and James Gunn suicide squad, it’s hard to picture anyone else in the role. The iron man = RDJ situation.
Let's be honest here. They will probably forget about most of them once the casting is done. The ceiling is not even that high. No. It's not even high at all. Especially Ezra Miller.
The thumbnail pretty much sums up my feelings. After years of begging for him to return they finally have him return as Superman in Black Adam. And then not even two months later they tell him to screw off.
And to add insult to injury, I remember hearing that they actually did have a Superman sequel in early development with Cavill involved, hence his early post about returning.
@@stormtraitor6545 yeah he did say that they had negotiated future plans for the character. He was so excited to return people were so happy and interviewers were delightedly asking him about Superman. And now it comes crashing down. I’m never getting my hopes for DC again. @@fastforwardvideos2752 yeah, and the other person was saying their opinion Edit: actually, no, on an analytical level, it's a horrible movie. You can enjoy watching it, but it's cinematography, script, and probably many other parts of the movie, are just bad by any normal objective analysis.
The DC does need an overhaul, but the way things are happening are tactless and idiotic. I hope Henry gets something else apart from a franchise and fandom. He's a great actor. I would love for people to properly see that.
James Gunn needed to rip the band-aid off and commit to a total relaunch of the DC film franchise rather than pussyfooting around it and trying to fix things through bullshit like time travel and alternate universes
I feel like Gunn was setup to go to fire Henry being that WB executive actively protested having Superman in Black Adam but the Rock dragged him into the cameo to a movie that flopped in the eyes of WB
That's because none of the decisions are being made with any thought behind them outside of "How much can we claim in Tax exemption for killing these projects, and what dates do our competitors have slated so we can force releases into the empty spots to avoid competition"
Calling Superman boring is weird because if he was boring his comics wouldn't be selling that well. That said, his villains are what a make his values stand out and intriguing
Yeah, for some reason, hollywood writers tend to focus more on his powers than his actual character. They all wear michael bay-shaped glasses and can't distinguish the forest from the trees.
@@demisor9701 considering how people seem to like the constant sludge that comes out of Disney, and other mass media corporations. It's not Superman fans with bad taste.
Honestly...this is the best outcome. If Henry playing Geralt and/or Superman had to be sacrificed so he can helm a 40k universe production at Amazon then I consider it a fair trade. Super excited.
I agree. I’ve been saying this since the beginning, those mundane situations won’t work in the post dark knight era where everything has to be “realistic” and dark. Honestly, they need to make the movies campy again and make metropolis more wacky kinda like in the animated series, if that makes sense
I'm pretty curious to see what Gunn can do with Supes and the DCEU as a whole, but I'm more cautiously optimistic. I have faith in Gunn but not Zaslav or the other higher ups. I just have a feeling that sometime next year we're gonna be reading a headline saying "Gunn out as DC Films Creative Director."
I feel really bad for Cavill but as much as I’ve liked this universe, it was a mess. The plans kept changing, and Cavill returning would’ve been great, but who says that actually would’ve happened?
@@jturner2577lmao no it didn’t. It was the same old disjointed one and with Zack not coming back it would have been other people picking up the pieces. This universe needed a reset ages ago.
This is the first time I’ve come across your excellent channel, and from this video alone, which has a clear cut title that’s not meant to create any intentional conflict, your very laid back, nuanced approach to the subject matter is refreshing. It’s hard to explain, but as a person that wants to see both DC and Marvel succeed, this is pretty rare to find on UA-cam. The retro intermissions you have sound amazing too. It’s evident that all you want to see is a quality set of films. After seeing this video, I watched your previous video about the chaos at WB with the DC Universe. The cancellation of Batman Beyond with Michael Keaton that you mentioned there is definitely such a lost opportunity, and like The Batman 2022, it could’ve existed as its own self contained franchise given how it takes place in the distant future. It would’ve also been a nice homage to the beloved, late, great Kevin Conroy, who played an integral part in the childhood my friends and I shared as we grew up in the early 90s.
the behind the scenes explains a bit of this. Warner Bros. was bought out by Discovery right before Black Adam. This resulted in James Gunn being hired by the head of discovery shortly after to helm the role of head of DC and create a new DCU, one to at is fully connected in all mediums. It also explains what happened with Black Adam and the Cavill cameo. The plans hadn’t been laid out yet and had Black Adam been a smash hit we likely would have seen a completely different DCU with many of the people we know reprising their roles
This is what I think happened exactly. Black Adam was testing the waters of the old DCU, trying to see if it would work, but with the underperformance, it was likely seen as the final straw for the old way of doing things.
@@NoahRJitil Absolutely, liked the way you put this and couldn't agree more! For better or for worst they've hit the reboot switch, fingers crossed it's for the better
Damn and I just went back to watch the last DC video only to get this update out of nowhere. Now even though he wasn't my favorite live action Superman, he got dealt a bad hand and hope they give him something to work with. Sadly Henry and even the Rock are going to be gone.
I just don't see either of them as good as the characters they were cast as. Cavill never came close to the charming almost goofy embodiment of hope. And the rock can't even be bothered to attempt Black Adam's iconic accent.

@@jturner2577 When in doubt, you rely on your legacy characters. The characters that bring in an audience and ground your universe with credibility. Cavill was a box office draw and the embodiment of what Superman should be. Basically Christopher Reeves reincarnate but I guess the producers thought otherwise. A conclusion to everything he’s been through would’ve been the perfect segue to Clark’s younger perspective. Unfortunately, I doubt we’re getting another standalone Superman film in the next decade. It’s cruel.
@@user-vn7hp4nq6e Cavill might have been a box office draw, but he wasn't enough of a draw. Black Adam bombed, despite heavily advertising the Cavill cameo. Most of Cavill's superman movies made money, but none of them got close to the $1 billion mark that Aquaman and Joker hit, and that Marvel manages to hit all the time. Basically, Cavill's box office is decent but not great. Unfortunately his charisma alone is not enough to carry the DC's box office when everything else in the DCEU is a mess. On a more positive note, a new standalone Superman film has already been confirmed! (just not with Cavill.)
@@litchie5836 I agree his box office numbers weren’t that great, but the only film that can truly be assessed as a traditional “Superman” movie is Man of Steel. Compared to BvS and Justice League, it actually performed decently and I’d wager with better writing etc., it would’ve performed higher. 600+ million is literally profit and despite its faults, it‘s the highest rated overall of the three. To your second point, is there an actor capable of playing a young Clark Kent that would be a bigger box office draw? Pattinson (Reeves’ Batman) is an outlier IMO. I just don’t see how a new face could bring in numbers even close to Cavill’s interpretation.
They could've completely rebooted Superman and still keep Cavill, just like he was able to salvage Robbie's Harley and even more incredible, Rick Flag.
Gunn's Suicide Squad was a soft reboot and not a hard reboot. it was mostly a change in tone from the previous movie just like thor ragnarok and thor dark world with the same cast
This literally feels like a trip to the new amusement park that just opened you're parents promised you for months, but in the end, you never got to go, because it closed after a week due to problems
I never felt like any of the criticisms were aimed at Cavel when his movies came out. It's always been the writer's shortcomings. I hope he finds other projects that are fulfilling
jack snyder doesnt understand superman. he kept doing the 'superman is jesus' dumbassery. also he doesnt understand jesus like all american religious fanatics.
I'm completely on board with Cavill as Booster Gold. He's got the jawline, and a pretty solid sense of comedic timing. I think he'd surprise a lot of people there-- especially since Nathan Fillion is probably too old to do it at this point.
@@justalonelyman994 I totally agree with you 100%! 40k is designed to be so versatile that you could tell any type of story in the setting, but I think they are going to go for the most recognizable and proven part of the setting which is the heresy and I just don't think anyone but maybe, maybe some sort of once in a generation very special and particular team could ever hope to pull that off in live action. If it was animated, sign me up and take my money yesterday. But they wont do any of that. I don't have high hopes to be honest.
Something I hope to see in this Superman reboot is Gunn using other Superman villains, besides Luthor and Zod. The villains I would love to see in trilogy are 1st film - Parasite and Metallo 2nd film - Mongul (with the introduction of Supergirl) 3rd film - Manchester Black and the Elite Lex Luthor could appear in all three films as recurring antagonist, with each movie showing the development of his rivalry with Superman (maybe adapting the President Luthor arc)
This really does make it feel like they producers of Black Adam wanted to cash in on Cavill's stardom without ever having planned on actually giving him another in the first place. It feels kinda gross. For me, the DCEU is just too messy to be excited about future projects. We don't get a conclusion to the Snyderverse Darkseid plot. Aquaman 2 and the Flash are like Black Widow, sequels to a plot that has already been canned. There was never really a connection between Birds of Prey and Shazam and anything else. Joker and The Batman were completely separate. And now there's a fifth Gunniverse? Count me out.
Imo it's not up to DC anymore, this is the second time they dump him, he would have to be really stupid if he take them back a third round, i know i wouldn’t
I think a young Superman inspired by American Alien would be fantastic. Slightly a retread of Smallville but with more personal stories about Clark instead of Superman
I would have suggested American Alien which was excellently written. But, the writer is unfortunately very problematic and I don’t think Gunn would want to step into that can of worms at all.
@@dlvnmedia I feel like we shouldn't let go of good stories just because of who the writers are or what they believe in. We would lose out on too many opportunities that way.
I knew this video would come soon right after that last video you just made. All I’m saying is I just think at this point we just need to hope they cast someone good for it and that the movie ends up well. I 100% think that the Flash movie is the main way to just do a complete reboot from scratch. It really was stupid to put him in black Adam and announce that he was back.
I doubt it would happen anytime soon but I really think Cavill could pull off an excellent Wildcat. Him switching from the center of the universe to the battle hardened street fighter mentoring younger heroes just sounds so perfect to me.
As someone who likes Cavills trilogy of DC movies (excluding the 2017 movie) I feel like hearing they were recasting just on its own would feel bitter sweet. But I’d understand and look coward to the new movie. But the fact that they very publicly announced he was coming back just to tear it away from us, had left me very pissed off. Imagine how furious fans would be if Charlie Cox had just appeared in no way home announced he was back as Daredevil and then Disney announces they are doing a complete reboot with a new actor.
I think Cavill is a great actor who got dealt way too many bad hands (especially playing Superman). It’s not his fault; it’s Snyder, DC execs, The Witcher staff, The Rock, and now Gunn & Safran who’ve screwed the guy over. Cavill just seems too nice (and a total lovable nerd) for this industry that I wouldn’t be surprised if he got taken advantage of more that we just don’t know about. He deserves to have a big, successful career and I hope he gets to play the next James Bond or have some really breakout performance in a smaller indie/non-franchise film. He’s earned it. God speed, Henry.

If I were Henry Cavill, I would decline to work with WB in the future.... simply based on the way they handled his termination. You can't tell me that they didn't know back when they told him to announce his return that they were planning on taking the character in a different direction under James Gunn. And on the slim, VERY off chance that WB _didn't_ know, and this was all a genuine, spur of the moment change of plans, it STILL looks bad, because it shows that the studio is so out of sorts and disorganized that they haven't planned even 1 step ahead of themselves. They screwed over Henry Cavill, they screwed over Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who had hyped up a Superman/Black Adam battle which will now not happen. I wouldn't be surprised if neither Cavill nor Johnson NEVER wanted to work with WB after this. Cavill basically quit his job with _The Witcher_ production to focus on Superman. Ultimately the way WB handled this was INCREDIBLY unprofessional, and you can see just how upset Cavill is by his wording in the statement he gave. Pointing out how even though he was told to announce his return a mere months earlier, he was now being told that he is FIRED. And James Gunn is the worst part in all this. Considering what he himself went through with having his job snatched away, I am shocked at the way he handled things here. I have lost SO MUCH respect for Gunn.
I mean, Momoa's got the looks of Lobo and he previously had an action film where he hunts down a group of killers around his cabin. So yeah, it's not hard to see why he's Lobo.

It's weird, I'm a massive Cavill fan but also am relieved that JG is taking a big step here. If he is prepared to challenge something as popular as Henry as superman, I think it speaks volumes for his vision going forward. I'm gutted for HC, but hopeful for DC
The copyright for the original version of Superman, the depression era version you mentioned, is going to be public domain soon. That means ANY studio could make a movie featuring Superman with that level of power and villains in the near future. So I think DC is even less inclined to go with that version.

Bringing Cavill's superman back in a couple years would be an amazing ploy. This DC drama has culminated in a ton of hype, especially for superman. Let them build their universe, re-cast superman for a prequel, bring Cavill back for a sweet cameo, and give him a great superman movie. People would lose their minds
They're not doing a prequel (how do you even do a prequel when Man Of Steel was his origin), they're just scrapping the SnyderVerse and everything connected to it. And it's about time. They should have done that after Man Of Steel barely made any money and was extremely divisive among the fans and mainstream audiences alike.
I honestly wish we had gotten a chance to see an established adult Superman in an optimistic movie. They could have kept the cinematic universe while having that film be a standalone movie like The Batman is separate from Joker. He has good stories that could easily be adapted like Superman vs. The Elite or Superman/Batman: Public Enemies where we get Batman involved and explore a President Lex Luthor plot.
… there is a difference between “the next movie takes place 15 years earlier so we need a different actor for this specific movie” and “this guy won’t be Superman again” You’ve seen movies and shows where two actors play the same character at two different ages. … or did you think that was Daniel Radcliffe as a baby in the scenes where they needed a baby actor to play Harry Potter as a baby …..
I’m glad to hear you’re not as angry as so many others are on this topic. Might as well look to the positives of the future because we are fans. Not film execs. We don’t really have a say (outside perhaps cosmetic changes) until a movie is out and we decide not to pay to see it. I would have liked to see Cavil play Superman again with a more heroic tone, but not my decision. Clearly. Anyway, thanks for the more upbeat video. ✨✅✨
I blame all the drama on WB and none on James Gunn, who I think made the tough but necessary decision. For the first time in years, I’m excited about DC films
So glad to hear from you on this. I really love hearing your official word on these. I've watched the Witcher and have fell off but I really enjoyed him as an actor. I just think they could have done him better. I wish he could sue them because they really brought down his brand and potential. I will support him more after this. Maybe be can jump off that Eola Holmes material. He deserves to stretch as an actor.
They've already shown us how to make Superman not boring with Superman & Lois. Just take that and translate it into the big screen. It's that simple. He's not that hard to understand you need to be Zack Snyder level of cynical world view to misunderstand Superman.
What pisses me the hell off is the fact that they’re rebooting Superman to do the whole young reporter clark kent thing again….WE’VE SEEN THAT A THOUSAND TIMES ALREADY
Yeah I was a huge fan of Cavill. Was rooting for his comeback. Supported him in the first Superman and thought we'd get a trilogy but never happened. WB did him dirty asking to announce his comeback and then kicking him to the curb. It's hard to blame James Gunn too as he was just brought in and wants a reset.
DC has taught me not to get excited for any of their properties. Because they are good as often as a broken clock is right and don't have any staying power. They also just don't seem to know what to do with the characters, and instead, it feels like they want to just do a MCU Avengers mash up as soon as possible and make all that money.
This one stings for me. I always though Superman was a lame superhero (bc I only looked at the surface of the character). Then I watched Man of Steel, and Henry Cavill showed me the humanity in the character, embodying the noble symbol on his chest which means hope.
Honestly I've been on board with whatever James Gunn decides to do since it was announced he would be the new head of DC. Dude literally does not miss when it comes to comic book movies and tv
Dude Suicide Squad was a box office flop. He's not a perfect director. No one is. Except maybe James Cameron everything that man touches is gold what the hell lol.

2:05 That would have been the smartest thing to do considering how old this universe is. And how it was picking up steam again especially with ZSJL setting records internationally and being either the 4th ot 8th most streamed film of 2021. Seriously that and Todd Philips Joker Duology could make DC Black a legitimate branch.
I'm excited to see what Gunn does, I think he can give us a genuinely great Superman, and give us a balance of Snyder's edge and Donner's hopeful optimism, a more comic accurate Superman, mirroring the current Superman of the comics, or even the post-Crisis era of Superman. As disappointing as it was to learn that Cavill had been ousted a second time, I think it's for the best that DC/WB just starts over from scratch entirely, the DCEU has been too messy and poorly received, and leaving any potential connections alive would be a mistake. Gunn taking over is, imo, the first beacon of light for the DCEU in, well, since its creation, because we have a man in charge who makes films that almost everyone loves, who clearly has a love of these characters and wants to tell their stories as accurately to the characters themselves as possible.
James Gunn is not gonna make a successful Superman movie. His potty humor is not good for the DCU. Zack Snyder was miscast as a Superman director but so is James Gunn. Watch as Superman Legacy flops.
@Droselover-hu1gt Gunn doesn't use strictly potty humor, and if you think he isn't capable of not using that kind of humor then idk what to tell you. You aren't omniscient or clairvoyant. You don't know for a fact that Gunn's Superman will fail any more than we know whether Snyder's would or not. Pretending you know it'll fail just makes you look sad and angry. I prefer to be optimistic and go into the DCU with an open mind. If all you have to share is pessimism and claims you know what's what, I don't care to hear it. Keep it to yourself. Gunn's track record speaks positively, so I'm giving him a shot. You do you.
2:51 You're far more kind-hearted than I. I'm cynical enough to think that Warner Bros. needed a boost to publicity for Black Adam, so they got Henry to excitedly announce his 'return to the cape' publicly, _omitting_ to tell him that his new tenure would be short, and used, simply for Black Adam's marketing. They then called him into a private meeting, and asked him to announce his own firing - publicly again - on his way out. I don't have enough faith to believe Warner Bros. didn't string Cavill along, using his excitement at actually being able to play this iconic character on screen again. All the while, knowing they were going to sack him after Black Adam had earned most of it's box office takings.
This hurts me to say cause I genuinely like Henry Cavil a lot but I don’t think there has been a time where I actually enjoyed his portrayal of Superman. I don’t think it’s his fault or anything I mostly blame the writing and directing, but because of this I really don’t care a ton about getting a new actor for the part.
Henry Cavill was my personal favorite Superman. I will miss him dearly. I wanted Man of Steel 2 so badly. James Gunn better do good with these movies moving forward.
Great content and breakdown. It would have been awesome to see Superman as a father. I know they did something like that with Superman and Lois but it would have been fun to see Gunn to do a rendition on the comics where Superman’s son reacts with Batman’s son Damien Wayne. They could have passed the torch that way and developed a new future Justice league down the road.
Henry made for the perfect superman and was Not boring, I'm out and tired of superman reboots tbh. I'm just done, will be getting into Warhammer now since I cannot get enough of Henry Cavill.
The hard reset is realistically the best idea. Yea, some people will get butt hurt, but they'll be able to build the general fan base much easier. You dont want your multi billion dollar franchise built on controversy.
I feel bad for cavill, but glad for DC. If they're getting rid of all the actors, they're doing exactly what this universe needs: burning it all down. A clean slate will lead to better movies unburdened by the older terrible movies, and much less confusion for the average audience member who wasn't sure if Venom was in the MCU
"DC wants a complete clean break from the past" Except for Margot Robbie, apparently, who is a great actress but is NOT a great Harley Quinn. I hope Gunn knows what he's doing.
It sucks that Henry is leaving but let’s be honest here the DCEU has needed a HARD reset for almost a decade. It’s been failure *cough (Green lantern) cough* after failure (WW84). I’m honestly excited for the first time in years about what’s coming for DC. I grew up in the golden era of DC in the 90’s/2000’s and what’s been going on the last 10 years is not what I grew up loving.
It's not that he's just all good, it's that he's all good and all-powerful that makes him difficult to write conflicts for. He can be either all good and not all-powerful, or all-powerful and not (always) good. That gives writers space to work with.
James Gunn firing Henry Cavill might be honestly one of the most dumbest and biggest mistakes of all time, the man is still in perfect shape, passionate and young enough to continue the role. What's even more heartbreaking is that we could've easily had a different version of Henry's Superman that comes much closer to the comics with a soft reboot thanks to The Flash movie. And the best thing is that he would've still taken place in the new DCU that James Gunn wants to build, which would've allowed the transition of the old fans into the new universe much faster and easier, without losing any trust in James Gunn. *Yet they freaking FIRED HIM* :)
Nothing against Cavill or Momoa but seeing them possibly play new roles in the new DCU after being in the DCEU would feel awkward and bizarre, especially Momoa as Lobo (I would go with someone like Ryan Hurst or Karl Urban personally).
Henry Cavill seems to be a likeable person. sad that this was never translated to superman. i guess its the fault of the directors and screen writers. in conclusion; i will not miss cavills superman and wont miss cavill in genreral because he will get other chances to shine. i love the idea of him playing boostergold
Here's the thing about Superman. he's not a dark character, he's not insecure or flippant. He's 100% dedicated and pure hearted, he's everything you would hope to find in a god or a being of such immense power. How do you think a person like that would make you feel? Inspired or inferior? If you want to make a dark superman story that's how you come at it, not by making Superman angry or edgy, but by having him be the pure light in a world so accustomed to the half-light and the grey that they can't even look at him. That from the perspective of the world he's not that easily distinguishable from the deepest dark of Lex Luthor. Put the ideal, untarnished and unbent, into a world of grays and you'll end up with a very compelling story. Maybe Superman will be the light to lead us to be better, maybe the human spirit is too twisted or too young or too selfish for that kind of future. If you want to make a good Superman film then you don't make a movie about Superman at all, you make a movie about what kind of soul truly lives in the human heart.
Honestly the old Superman cartoons highlighted this theme, and writers just need to go through those materials to understand how to properly write Superman without holding onto the crutches of being edgy.
@@tkraid2575 The Animated series of the 90s and early 20s was absolutely fantastic. That's basically all I want from a DC Cinematic Universe. It was, in my opinion, perfect.
You have to remember. The reason why Cavill was back is because Dwayne Johnson convinced the old DC higher ups during this spring and summer. All of these people are gone now and Gunn and Safran run the ship. Henry Cavill announced the movie literally THE DAY BEFORE James Gunn and Peter Safran started at DC. Gunn never announced a Henry Cavill Superman film. He never even considered it. This was a decision that people made who are now longer at DC. James Gunn therefore cancelled a film that he never wanted to make in the first place and that he never announced. This was a big mistake from the previous higher ups, not Gunn's and Safran's.

The only thing that softens this blow is knowing that Henry Cavill will be moving forward with a Warhammer 40k film. I'm honestly stoked for that

I believe it's a show
I hope it’s good, I honestly feel it’s unlikely it’ll be as good as the Astartes shorts tho.
For Superman yes. Everyone else, eh. Replaceable.

Nah, this is the first good decision they've made in years. A completely fresh slate is a great idea.

At Least Johnson has his legacy of playing Black Adam for nearly 15 years to fall back on. What a great ride.
I laughed. You got me. Good one.

Legacy for 15 years for this movie 🤣
Watch anomaly inc video about rock , u will see the who the real johnson is
Lol true
the behind the scenes explains a bit of this.

I would have suggested American Alien which was excellently written. But, the writer is unfortunately very problematic and I don’t think Gunn would want to step into that can of worms at all.

And with that headline, the witcher is definitely going to be awful
Henry Cavill was my personal favorite Superman. I will miss him dearly. I wanted Man of Steel 2 so badly. James Gunn better do good with these movies moving forward.
Great content and breakdown. It would have been awesome to see Superman as a father. I know they did something like that with Superman and Lois but it would have been fun to see Gunn to do a rendition on the comics where Superman’s son reacts with Batman’s son Damien Wayne. They could have passed the torch that way and developed a new future Justice league down the road.
No.
Maybe domestically, but not internationally.
Man I am tired of reboots. One of the best things about the MCU is that it just keeps continuing the central timeline.
I just want a Superman movie.
Hopefully he joins marvel and gets to play sentry or the beyonder
I would have killed to see Henry do Kings Up In The Sky arc - he would have killed in an adaptation of that one.
I still hopes DC takes over this decade
Because I'm sick of the MCU
Both will flop
"DC wants a complete clean break from the past"
Except for Margot Robbie, apparently, who is a great actress but is NOT a great Harley Quinn.
The moment I heard the news I knew I had to hear what Captain Midnight thinks about all this! It’s a downright shame, poor Henry Cavill…😭
No Black Adam sequel now either. This is fantastic! Can't wait for a legit DC Film Universe. DCFU!
WBD took their only good PR of the year and ruined it.
Hit me up, I have something for you 🎁🎁🎁
Honestly the old Superman cartoons highlighted this theme, and writers just need to go through those materials to understand how to properly write Superman without holding onto the crutches of being edgy.
@@tkraid2575 The Animated series of the 90s and early 20s was absolutely fantastic. That's basically all I want from a DC Cinematic Universe. It was, in my opinion, perfect.
This needed to happen. Everyone needs to accept the split and move on.
If you knew how ZSJL performed worldwide, you'd know you're wrong.
Hit me up, I have something for you 🎁🎁🎁
And they STILL wont get rid of Amber Heard and Ezra Miller.
Amber Heard is hot.
@@Carloszavalalol Oh my god your right shes so hot lets forget that she abused her husband looks are more important
Honestly as much as it hurts that Cavill is gone, I'm somewhat alright with this. The DCEU had many chances to get it right but WB squandered all of it. It's time to start with a clean slate
Superman is gonna have a really tough time in this Homelander Omni man era... it's gonna be so hard to make him stand out and be admirable.
After having so many “Superman but evil” characters around, it will definitely be a breath of fresh air to see a pure Boy Scout Superman
If the MCU could make Captain America cool, it shouldn't be so hard to do the same for Superman.
@@ShadowSonic2 except Captain America had the benefit of not having to live up to a previous cinematic take and even then he was toned down a lot to make him less alienating to international audiences. And that's not even getting to the fact that Steve is cut far, FAR more slack than Clark is.
