thanks for this lovely video. I found you searching for pink glazes. I'm on a mission to find the perfect pink glaze. This was a great help and your mugs are beautiful :-)
Awesome results! And thanks for the shout out. Those underglaze transfers get addicting, but oh so much fun. We just have the best jobs! I had great results with the rose quartz by layering winter woods under the rose quartz and pearl white on the rim. I love how we are growing such a creative pottery community on UA-cam! ❤
You said it perfectly!! Best Jobs EVAH!! One Walton to another!! And thanks for suggestion with the WW and PW! I'm going to try that!! I've got some mugs needing some glaze so I'm going to put this combo to use! You're right again! This YT Pottery Community that is growing in leaps and bounds and is just Awesome!! I love all the love everyone is giving! The encouragement and suggestions blows me away at times!! Oh and I'm so glad to hear that your husband has the green light in his healing!!! xo
Sorry Lisa! The chat ends on its own when the video finishes the premiere! Thank you for sharing your experience with the Rose Quarts and pinholes..I was wondering if it was the clay or the application..etc. any hoo! I missed getting back to the kiln for a hold which i think would have smoothed out! Anyway it was lovely chatting with you!
Hi Tegan! Thank you!! I really want to share... everything, which also means sharing and and supporting other YT'ers because it's a lot of work!! 🤪 I'm sooo happy with this growing community and I love learning and growing and paying it forward to you all! xo
Aww, thanks for the shout out Sarah! Amaryllis and the Peppered Plum are the two new glazes I got as well but haven't had a chance to experiment with them much, I'm glad you did and results are gorgeous! I've mostly used flux blossum on the inside, love it as a liner glaze. I think I used it on a peacock technique bowl and it didn't flow at all like the crystal glazes so won't do that again but.....Can't wait for the full kiln unloading!!🥰
Np Starlynn!! I just love how this YT Pottery community is growing and think it's important to lift one another up, sharing info, insights, suggestion and shout outs are always supper helpful! Kiln opening is coming, but I'm behind in the editing as Aug has been a super social month so far...and editing has been on the back burner....but I've got a ton on content to put out! As always, I love hearing from you! 💕
Hello Sarah, first thing.. we have the same exact glasses, so we both have great taste in glasses! Lately, I have been using Amaryllis on the interior of my bowls and I love it!!.. I painted 3 coats of Amaryllis over the typical peacock technique of flux 'w's' and any dotted color of stroke and coat. I have been using Mayco coral or pink gloss on the outside of the piece, just a solid, 3 coat overage . So far, my biggest seller because the interior of the bowl looks like a tie dye effect. It is stunning. Make sure to really mix the crystals in the Amaryllis! Cheers and I just love watching your videos.. you are informative and you make me laugh! Thank you!!!
Hi Carol! 🤓 Glasses Sisters!! Love it!! Your glaze combo sounds just divine! I don't have any of the stroke n coats but have them on my list ...which keeps growing 🤪. (As stated in my vid that I've got an addiction...lol! ) I'm so glad you enjoy my content and shared that with me...hearing from you is very encouraging as it can be daunting at times, and knowing that I inspire or entertain or am just company while someone is working in the studio is so motivational!!! xo
Hi Michele!! I wish it wasn't soo dang far from me because I'd love to visit! Every time i call the staff are soo helpful and friendly!! let them know how grateful I am please!! xo
Hi Sarah, My name is Liana shouting out from Redding, California. I absolutely love your videos and glaze combinations. Funny thing is I get quite different results when I try your combinations. Probably due to different clay bodies? Pearl white looks great on my black clay, eclipse from Seattle pottery supply. It has a bluish cast if on the thin side and purplish if thicker. My favorite floating Spectrum glaze is Kimchi (pink, orange, and yummy drizzles of whipped cream. Your mug with Amaryllis is my favorite and I like your black mugs with pink and Archie’s base! Stunning!!!!
Hi Liana!! I love hearing where you all are watching from!! THANK YOU 🥰 I appreciate your kind words and for all of this amazing info!! I've been thinking about getting Kimchi too🤪...clay matters fo-sho eh? (my Canadian is showing..lol) thanks for watching and for sharing! 🥰
Thanks for this advise Sondra!! I've yet to bisques fire them🤞🏼...may i ask if you've tried to leave the stoneware bottoms free from glaze with the transfers? I really like to look of bare stoneware with glaze drips. Any impact that I may need to be aware of? Thanks!
Nice results Sarah! I've seen mixed reviews on the rose quartz. And, frankly, this is the first time I've seen the peppered plum and amaryllis done where I liked the results. I usually don't care for the splotchiness of those types of glazes...but that's my personal preference. I know many people really like them. I'm so glad your gamble paid off! I can't wait for the full kiln opening! WOOHOO!
Hi Pat! Firstly...Thank you!! ...Someone also said they had some challenges with RQ...but I just love the strawberry /pink colour (not what I was expecting at all)... but really love it minus the pinholes. I'm going to have to experiment with it more so I can find a winning combination or firing schedule, clay body etc. Im editing the kiln opening now, but I've had a busy social calendar this week keeping me both out of the studio and away from my office 🤭🤪 Not complaining...summer in Canada goes by soo dang fast that cottage visits, and bbq, pool parties all seem to take precedence. 🥰
Hello Colorado!! Thank you!!! I really appreciate your kind words and encouragement!! Receiving comments is so helpful that I keep at it!! So much work goes into these videos, but it's another creative medium that I'm truly enjoying and I'm glad you are too! 💕💕💕
Great video. I just ordered some Mayco stoneware glazes...so watching the video was so helpful. Love watching your think process(keep thinking out loud it's so helpful)...the glazing process and then the results. Great results on these cups...stunning! I cannot wait to try too.
Thank you so much Pat!! I'm so sorry it took me so long to respond 😵💫. I love the feedback because I don't always know what is helpful and it seems that this day in age we are all in a rush to get to the answer (myself included) so I often edit that 'brain talk' out. I will reconsider going forward...heck people can fast forward if necessary! Cheers! 🥰
Regarding the pinholing with Rose Quartz: I experience the same thing with Ivy (along with Nimbus, those 3 glazes are the same base). I haven't done a tons of pieces with Ivy yet (planning on more though, really like it and have had some fun unintended results combining it with Amaco celadons), will see if I can figure out how to avoid pinholing in the future. One way or the other it was pretty minimal, barely noticeable with the textured nature of the glaze--would obviously matter more on the inside of a vessel (have just used it on the outside thus far, inside of my mugs were nice thick glossy poured celadons--I like using little stamps at the bottom for a fun "surprise"). And while I'm here--I love your mug handles. I make mine chonky too...I like how they look/feel, added bonus of being easier to work with when attaching (omg mug handles are a pain in the ass lol).
Hi Mary!! Thanks for all this info! Since I've been having so many issues with RQ I've been reluctant to try Ivy and Nimbus for the same reason (tho I just love the colour of them). I have to say that since I've got my new kiln and control the firing so much better, the pinholes haven't been as big a problem for me...but I still need to figure RQ out. I've seen some GORGE results but have yet to have them myself. I will keep practicing, bcuz I just love the colour of it. I totally agree with you about the handles, to me, I just love em! 🥰 Cheers!
Hello from North Carolina! I love both Amaryllis and Peppered plum mugs. Honey flux is one of my faves so I am looking forward to trying the new fluxes. Also, 🙋♀ I, too, have a glaze addiction 🤦♀ Keep up the great content. I’ve only had my kiln for six weeks. I am so loving it !
What gorgeous combos!! I love the shape of those mugs too. The rose quartz can not be applied very thick or it will pinhole. I have had a heck of a time with it. I’m a heavy glazer so I tried only using 2 coats and it works much better. Can’t wait for the kiln opening!!
Thanks you!!! And for the suggestion of less coats is soo helpful! So I'll try 2 coats next time! Summer goes by so fast it seems in Canada that I can't believe that we are nearing the end of Aug...With that said my social calendar kinda took over these last couple of weeks going to cottages and bbq's and pool parties etc. so I behind im my editing!! 😬 but it's coming!! I swear! Love hearing from you!! xo

I don't think I can get that clay up here (Canada) booo! If someone knows otherwise, let me know...Pearl White is soooo beautiful so I'm just going to have to keep experimenting with the different clays avail. But your suggestion will definitely help someone out who reads these comments! Thank you for sharing!! 🥰
I believe that you can apply to bisque ware but I think it's better on greenware. more vivid results and crisper lines, but I'll have to try it both ways to see if I have a preference...🤭
I didn’t have a good experience with amyrillis. I applied three coats then particles but the piece turned out with thin and streaky color. I might try it again but I didn’t like the color anyway….
Hi Susan, may i suggest that you mix the glaze up thoroughly first and apply instead of adding the crystals at the end, you will probably get a better application and won't end up with all the particles left at the bottom of your pint when you get to the bottom. Hope that makes sense...also, I've seen dramatically different results if it's applied on it's own or in my case, applied on top of another glaze. Personally I like it on top of the Flux as it help the Amaryllis move...let me know if you get better results!! 🥰
