@@MrSoichoro All good mate, I k=only knew it because I 100%'ed both the main game and Cars and Bikes DLC's so it is kind of engrained in my mind.
My first guess was Test Drive Unlimited 2. Atari put hella pressure on the developer, launched with a bunch of bugs and lacked polish, and lackluster sales led Atari to shut down the developer. Shame too, because the game and the franchise had a lot of underrated good going for it too.
First we got Raycevik and LGR, now Whitelight talking about amazing nostalgic racing games and I AM FUCKING HERE FOR IT

I freaking loved this game. It was super fun to play even offline
so now the microsoft has bought this. they can make a part two of it
First video from this bloke I've watched and what a masterpiece it is! But I must say his voice reminds me of the one friend in the pub meetup who always has a bizarre and disturbing story to tell

I couldn't understand why he called the game like that
Now can we have a burnout paradise analysis?
It's the third jewel of the crown of arcade mayhem games (alongside blur and split-second).
Burnout series was great. Midnight Club LA was criminally underrated as well... that was like a mini GTA V ahead of its time. Test driving cars before buying them, huge customization. Start / stop car. Driver looking back when reversing. Cockpit cam (!!!!!) in like 2008!!! NFS didn't care about that for yeeeeeears
Yeah, but paradise didn't fail. Its DLC content alone did better than blur and split second
@@ileutur6863 But he isn't analyzing them because they failed.
@@RakastanPorkkanakakkua He's doing this because the games were unique and offered a unique take on the racing genre, they fell short in sales and became underrated gems. Burnout Paradise is just Burnout with a need for speed open world which isn't unique and also did fairly well as a racing game. It's arguably not even the best burnout game, I still think Burnout 3 takedown was better.
id argue for motorstorm more than split second
It's still extremely fun. Never played it properly back when it came, but I still play Blur PC in LAN with my friends often. It's sad that the company was closed, the game was clearly under appreciated for it's time.
A friend mentioned this game to me literally last week and it made me smile to know that people remember it!
'Getting a Steam key of Blur' is one of the things on my bucket list.
How much money you got lol
Good luck. February 2020, I stumbled upon a sealed copy of Blur PC DVD at Walmart on clearance for $4. I couldn't believe it. I did not hesitate to buy it.
I'm actually bought the game as (Gift) for 1100$
I have a giftable copy. Kept it to hopefully one day fund my retirement.
An underrated gem that was provided countless nights of fun back in the day. This was a great video and I hope it inspires some people to pick it back up
Biggest mistake was releasing this as the same year as the hp 2010. Because i myself remember being split between the two at the shops and ultimately picking hp. And it was so good that i didnt even need to return to the blur untill years later when it had already failed
Why couldn't you have chosen both?
@@hotel_arcadia idk i never buy more than one example of smt. Wouldnt play the two at the same time anyways
I need part two. Now that Microsoft owns the studio, they can make it happen.
The studio closed shortly after the game's release
@@amac203 bummer, somebody needs to revive this game.
This game was a hidden gem, I remember none of my friends had ever heard of it but I spent so much time on it.
I also love playing Blur much like WipEout HD and Omega Collection. My favourite car in Blur is of course, the Lancer EVO X.
@@purwantiallan5089 Wait, I don't remember there being a Lancer in Blur. What class?

"How fast do you wanna go?"
Next Video : Driveclub
I was thinking that or Wipeout.
@@Havok16 Yeah, Wipeout seems like it would fit nicely. One powerup-based racing game to another.
@@Havok16 "How Fast do you Wanna Go?" Is Driveclubs catch-phrase. It plays everytime when you load up the game. So probably Driveclub
@@TheJZsweep ah fair enough I never played Driveclub. But that phrase was also used in marketing material for Wipeout and I believe one of the songs on the soundtrack was also called that?
@@Havok16 I have played much more driveclub than Wipeout (about 200 hours lol) so you would know more than me about that. But considering he also mentions how the game killed it's studio and was a commercial failure, pretty safe to say it's driveclub he's talking about.
It's a shame too. Driveclub is actually an excellent racing game with LOADS of content. But it's launch was just ass. Hopefully this next video can give so more insight into that.
I swear, this man could sell me on anything. He could start a religion and I’d probably convert.
Same and I don't really see myself as a religious guy
The amount of fun I had back in middle school playing this at my friends house was insane. This was our split screen go-to for awhile I wish it was able to get a remake or something. Great video as always
I remember playing this at my grandpas about 7 years ago with my 2 cousins when we used to bring our consoles, my Xbox 360, and their ps2... Good ol' days, I miss em... R.I.P Grandpa
Do MotorStorm next, another classic
I feel like Split second 2 would be called "Split the Second"
"how to kill a blur" is a missed opportunity for "blurder she wrote"
Agatha's Christies: Bluroit
This video was incredible, music choices, in depth analysis, the passion in the voice, the intro just loved it
The actual underrated arcade racing game that I’ve loved is Split Second Velocity

37:25 imagine going from playing Blur as a Maxim model to marrying AEW Executive Vice President Cody Rhodes of all people.
I did a double take when I saw her
38:31 - Honestly, I remember when blur and modnation racers came out, I was deciding one of the two to get because I viewed both as kart racers. In the end, I chose Modnation Racers because that game had the ability to build your own tracks which I really loved.
I would love for you to take a look at Modnation Racers. I'm curious to know how the game holds up now that United Front Games is closed.
Modnation Racers deserves to be resurrected
@@NFSBeast2365 It does. The ability to build tracks would work really well on PS5 hardware. Assuming the game has PS3 graphics that is. lol
A genuinely incredible game that still outclasses most of its successors today
This is unlocking some deep memories, this and Onimusha were some of my favorite games that I feel are underrated.
When i write this, its 2022, i love blur as a single/split screen player game and i started playing multiplayer with a community made mod. When i see drifters i dont rage, but i try too. I want only 1 thing: Blur 2. But i know 1 thing: it will never come out.

One of the last 4 player split screen game I played with my homies
This reminded me of a memory that almost faded away. The flashbacks to split racing came running as soon as I saw those power ups. The most played game during my college days.
The car boosting as the beat drops at 10:31 was dope as hell. Great work as usual Mr Light
I see James May was too busy doing cooking shows to join you this time
Splitsecond and Blur, the game that murdered its maker.
Split Second's sequel would have been called "Split Second" and we would have used their release dates to indicate which one we meant, since that is the most infuriating marketing trend.
We miss you, Blur. We really do.
Why nobody mentions the Chaotic arrangement of credits names even if they state "in Alphebetical order"? I loved that and Its literally the entire video
ODESZA's A Moment Apart is in this around 32 minutes in. Should that also be in the Music Credit sections?

Is that mysterious racer Motorstorm : Apocalypse? Absolutely loved that game
I don't know about Apocalypse, but I god damn LOVE Pacific Rift. What a fantastic masterpiece. Still playing it split screen with a friend. Amazing game!!
