Man, I never owned this game, but hold fond memories of split-screen with friends to this day. Really glad you delved into the depth of the power-ups and their usage across various modes, too often conversation of this game is just summarized as Mario Kart, not that I blame them considering the marketing.

Part of the problem is that the company that held the rights and the licenses for the vehicles just no longer exists. I don't know who right now would even hold the rights to the game. I am wondering if somehow it could be picked up as abandon ware, but I think a game has to be older than Blur is.

@@NFSBeast2365 I didn't say that any car brands didn't exist. I said the company that made the game no longer exists. That studio doesn't exist. So the rights to the game and all the licenses to use the cars expired with the company. So, even if another company came along and did manage to get the rights somehow (who even holds them?) to re-release the game, that new company would have to go back and re-negotiate the licensing rights to the vehicles in the game, or create brand new generic car models.

Some game releases in May 2010, the same month Blur released:
    -Red Dead Redemption
    -Super Mario Galaxy 2
    -Alan Wake
    -Skate 3
    -Split/Second
-ModNation Racers (another racing game I spent a lot of time on, also releasing on the same fucking day as Blur)
Such a shame Activision had to ruin this game. Same thing with Disney ruining Split/Second. I like how they keep getting mentioned together, like two orphans left by their parents, sticking together through the years. Because both of them were fantastic ideas and both of them deserved so much more.

Ended up getting bigger and bigger as I found out more and more until it became something that unusually covered development as much as everything else. Tried a lot of new things. Hope you like it, and these recent racing game vids. I've been working on a few bigger projects in the meantime that I'm excited to share as the year goes on. Huge thanks gotta go out to the Blur community again for their knowledge and help. I remember playing this game online for free, I think over Steam. I generally stay away from multiplayer, but I think that was the only free mode available. I got in and I unlocked the classic '69 Camaro muscle car. It had good acceleration, good top speed, but the handling was pretty god awful. In the class I was racing I would usually pull out ahead, then hit a few corners and would lose my head of steam. I would generally regain my way back to lower end of the top 5.
But, in one race. On the very last corner of the last lap I was head to head with another racer. I knew my car couldn't handle worth a darn so I threw my car into a drift, and I pulled off the most amazing, perfect, power sliding drift around the whole corner, holding the line perfectly, and blowing by the other racer and to cross the finish line in first. I could hardly believe I pulled it off. I was very new to the game. But, something even better happened. The top 4-5 racers that were behind me and saw me pull it off shot me a message all saying how epic that move was.
I tried several times to pull that move off again with limited success. Nothing as epic as that race winning one. Even though I might not have been amazing at this game, it was very fun and I felt like playing it over and over again...until the day it simply disappeared. :(

I stand by Onrush as being the "Blur" of it's generation. Brilliant, well designed, combat focused racing game sent to die by it's publisher.

So glad to have seen this view shared outside of my own head, very true in a lot of ways, gutted they left it to die. Needs a patch on xbox one to even play online at all :(

I watched this back before I got the game and I forgot you said biovirgininfinitecelibacy and it was like hearing it for the first time. I'm playing Blur right now and this is a solid review.
