Its the nearest thing to flying without leaving the ground.
The power, The acceleration, The wind blast, The feeling of freedom.
Sure, you can have all this in a open top car, but there's nothing like the feeling of being out in the open, Braking for the bends, Leaning through, then, accelerating away. Beats sitting in traffic queues.
I'm 52 now and have been riding for 33 years. Another 33 to go then....

People who don’t ride just don’t understand, simple as that. People always tell me I’ll kill myself or that I’m riding an organ doner but I don’t I care. I just love bikes so much and when I’m riding i forget about all the heart breaks, stress, and worry in my life. They truly are my passion weather it’s dirt or street. I’ve made so many good memories on bikes from working on them to riding with friends and family. If you hate motorcycles or think what I said was Cliche, go swing your leg over a bike and you will know what I’m talking about. Ride safe

Jake Fejer I have every reason to not ride from losing my only brother in 2015 to a motorcycle accident and being in one myself where I fractured the c1 in my neck, had a compound femur fracture, torn achilles tendon and shattered heel.
But it was riding that helped me through losing my brother and drive I had to get back on two wheels help push me through all the physical therapy till I was able too ride again. I started riding again in late September 2017 and have already done almost 7k miles. I don't think I'd ever be able to give it up.

I had checked into my hotel. Walked outside to get my gear. Saw 2 bikes pulling in. A BMW 1600 and a Moto Guzzi 1200. Guzzi rider was in full race leathers. Very tall. I watched as he parked, got off his bike, took off his helmet. He was in his mid 80's! The other rider on the BMW was in his 50's about my age. Respect your elders!

I still remember the words he spoke about motorcycles. I miss him also on almost every ride. Also, there is a black and white picture of my dad sitting on a 60s motorcycle and holding me ( as a baby boy ) in his arms.

Lucas Kramer, The motorcycle is a wonderful meditation. They always cheer me up. A combination of excitement and adrenaline. Sometimes we get sad, boredom and loneliness are real enemies. Part of it has to do with feeling that we are stuck, worrying about the past and the future. The motorcycle is a verb,
It takes us to the now. right here, right now, this is what's going on.
Zoom, hooray, free and on the go.

I got in to a prang a year ago and my beloved VT 750 was destroyed along with my left leg. I now have a mechanical leg and a VT 750, still working out details so I can actually drive it. Working out those details, adjusting, accessorizing , polishing, and practicing the act of getting on and off are parts of the whole experience. I had no opportunity to forswear or avoid what happened, it was a vehicular sucker punch and not just anyone can fathom what was lost to my soul. Please pray with me to get it all back.

I am very touched with your story my friend. Let me tell you, that my Father also lost his right leg in 1946 when he was only 13 years old. But he always made everything that someone with 2 legs could made. He rode bicycles, motorcycles, cars. With some changes or adaptations, everything is possible. So, don't worry. It is just a matter of time to adapt. I wish you the best my friend. Thank you my friend for sharing your story. :) Cheers.

Have been riding since the late 50s. I am 69 years old now and love riding every bit as much as the first day I rode that Sears Mustang 50 cc bike. I rode 50 cc Hondas and there 55cc and 90 cc street bikes and trail bikes. I rode 250cc Ducati and Suzuki X 6 Hustler. I had fun on the Honda 160 and 305 cc Scramblers. I had a 750 cc Honda I put over 50K miles on that bike no idea how many miles I put on the other bikes. I got back into dirt bikes when I bought a Kawasaki KX 400 around 38 years old then later a Yamaha YZ490. I had an old Harley 88 flathead Indian Larry style chopper. I put a few thousand miles. It didn’t have a speedo so don’t know how many miles I put on it. Was a fun bike. I bought a 1986 Kawasaki Concourse there first year model and put 378,000 miles on it. Sold it in 2008 and bought the 2005 model Concourse and have 54,000 miles on it. Riding motorcycles is a passion to me. I hope I can ride for many more years. I believe I must have over 500,000 mile so far. Happy riding everyone.

narcosataniko666 ....I had an old Sporty back in the late 1960's and of course, I wrecked it and never had a chance to get another one. I miss the thrill of riding and wish I could have one, today. I used to work on them and later, I painted them. Some were the wildest paint schemes, airbrushed murals and many solids but, haven't been on one in 52 years but I still miss the ride, the independence, and sometimes being somewhere when I pull it off-road and spread out the sleeping bag for a night. I'm still quite energetic for my older years and perhaps, I'll get one in the near future. Live young, ride long!

Poetry is what I call this video. A word finally defines what I feel when driving a motorcycle on the road: meditation. That state of mind of profound encounter with oneself. Feel like floats in a sea of deep thoughts and sensations, while the body is in a state of strength and happiness, as the birds will feel their body while cuts through the dense air, that our lives of featherless biped creatures never fully be accomplished but in a precious moments, as is lived by paratroopers before opening his parachute fabric. Driving a motorcycle is as close to flying for long periods of time, not just down controllably as is done in a parachute, but break through the hot air of a Mexican desert or cold air in a coniferous forest before the rain. Friends and family cannot understand how after six fractures in my body, I want to go back to riding motorcycles. I remember that day, when regaining consciousness after de crash, the first thing I ask was: What about my bike? My bike and I have gone through a period of rehabilitation, both are coming out, I a little earlier. Is not my first bike and surely will not the latest, but will definitely be a bike that I'll have for the rest of my life.

Today, my doctor after seeing my x-ray plates, told me that the in most serious fracture I have a 60 percent recovery. I wrote my usual weekly collaboration before going to the hospital and write this back in my home. I'm officially on medical leave for another month, he told me that I have to follow my physical therapy sessions “by the book” and last but not least, yesterday we weld definitely some of the mayor changes in the perimetral frame of my motorcycle to fit the project. The point of no return. Jose Duque is an inspirational figure for all. I can only add my respect and admiration for him. Is for me a “Cuauhtli” or an eagle warrior in the old Aztec tradition and remember that eagles were soldiers and symbols of the Sun. Saludos

I started riding bikes at 9, started proper road racing at 19, quit racing at 49. When your skimming walls, telegraph poles and hedges at 150 mph+ your so close to death but at the time iv never felt more alive. Motorcycles purge the sole, lift the spirit and the most important thing is.....they make us smile. Are we weird just because we fall in love and talk to these animated mechanical objects!? I hope so, wouldn't it just be so boring to be normal. What a lovely video....

This is a feeling that no amount of words can describe, bikes just have such an allure and a feeling all of their own, I'm 29 now and I can't work out for the life of me why it has taken until this year to get my licence but I can't put into words the sheer pleasure of just riding along at 30mph looking around at the world but when you want to press on they give you such a rush that is simply impossible in a car, being part of something, being connected to the bike it's incredible. Just like mentioned in this video the maintenance isn't a choir, it's all part of being more involved with a bike than you can ever be with a car. Thank you for this beautiful video :)

It is to me Nirvana on two wheels! I have ridden since I was 18 from 1979 and it has been part of my life all that time. Coming out on a warm sunny morning really early, the roads are quiet. Ten minutes on the road winding down country lanes. I gently breathe in the sweet fresh air from the rain hours earlier, I feel so relaxed it's euphoric! My baby seems to know where she wants to go. Riding is the one time in my day when my senses feel optimally heightened and when I feel completely alive! I will never stop until the day I die.

Me fez lembrar da minha primeira moto RD135. Eu tirava o cachimbo da vela para não ser roubada, mas a chave na verdade era um canivete na ignição. Espero ser como o Sr.José com uma Hayabusa. E como sempre: Até semana que vem.

i bought a 200cc joke of a bike last summer. i fell in love. 2 wheels feels like, well, home. nothing else can bring me the feeling my bike does. even tho i can barely touch 80 mph, i feel as free as a bird in the sky. it is a feeling i cannot explain. its ALMOST spiritual. i have a very very real appreciation for riding and a deep respect for my fellow rider, solely for choosing this 2 wheeled life, despite all the risk, despite the money, despite family members saying it may not be a good idea. i have many years and many bikes to experience as i am only beginning my journey. i look forward to them as i learn. enjoy the ride folks, and never look back.

Having returned to riding after 40 years away this video really touched me. When riding I feel like I am looking through my eyes when I was in my 20's. Not in the same physical shape but you don't need to be for city and highway riding. My balance and coordination as good as if I never left the saddle. Eyesight and reflexes I doubt are as good but wisdom I hope fills the gap. My first bike for a short time was a 441 BSA Victor. Thought for years of a replacement. I came upon the Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Classic- perfect for me to start again. Brings a smile to my face when I walk into the garage and realize a part of me I put on hold for 4 decades is back. Will likely need a bigger bike for highway travel. Speed limits once out of town are very high, 75 mph and town is very small. Distance between towns very long in Wyoming. Thanks, you do a good job with your videos and you voice is a welcome relief from the videos that have people riding like mad men.

    I just got a Valkyrie 6 cylinder. It's a flat 6 Honda motorcycle that's over 100hp.
But my old small Yamaha route 66 250 vtwin with only 17ci does things in my heart that the Valkyrie will never do.
I love the smaller and Simpler bikes. You feel everything. From the engine sparking to life, to the bumps in the road, to the vibrations all over your body.
And I believe it should be that way.
My Yamaha will always be my first bike. And it will be the last bike I ever ride as well.

As you said, riding a motorcycle is not something we have to do and by definition, a car is much more comfortable. But in a car we "sit" and in a motorcycle we "ride". So from this perspective, the motorcycle is always challenging who we are.

I am 61 years old and have been riding since before my 5th birthday, my wife is 9 years my junior and been riding since age 6. Moved to New Zealand so I could ride year round ( we are from Canada ) I can whole heartedly agree that riding is more an exercise of mind and spirit than any other thing that I have done for pleasure. I ride to add joy to each and every day. Back in Canada now after 18 years and live retired on HWY 6 in BC the season is 1/2 as long but the rides are twice as good

I’ve loved motorcycles since I was 3. I’m 45 now. Seeing this older gent riding is awesome. I hope I can still do that if I make it that long.

for many "bikers" ride on small 70cc bike is uncool and suks they do not understand main reason

In a certain way they are right. It sucks when all our friends have much powerful motorcycles. But when we ride all together with small bikes, that's where the real fun is. Unfortunatly, only a few Bikers know this. :) Cheers.

I’ve just let a small tear run down my cheek. Thanks for sharing this film with us. Recalling feelings like, just waiting at the red light, feeling the calm vibration from my old Guzzi, the light twitch to the right when turning the throttle, the smell of the warm engine and from the leather of my jacket ........ This helps me to bridge the Swiss winter.
    A big fan

There is difficulty in my relationships with close people.it made me so lonely. I meditate. That helps a lot. but sometime I ride my MC, in low speed,in lonely roads after sunset, alone. And there is a different feeling. Like " this beautiful world is not gonna end and a new day is coming tomorrow. I can make things good. God will help me"

Of all your films/videos this is one of my favourites . It really does convey the essence of riding a bike. Sometimes trying to explain it to non bikers is almost like explaining the punch line of a joke...If it needs explaining you don't get it. Every now and then I'll watch this and just think YEAH, spot on. Keep up the excellent work, and cheers.
