    You've retraumatized me by reminding me of Gen III milotic.

    I remember seeing charizards for $250 at card shops back in 2000. That would be like $700-$800 by todays standards with inflation. I feel like pokemon cards have always been expensive. My parents would try to buy me cards but scalpers made it impossible to find them. This is ALWAYS how its been.

      Good point. I remember seeing a magazine showing 1999 1st Ed being over $100 USD as well!

      yeah i agree aswell Charizard always been like a 100 dollar card here and with inflation that's pretty much the same price it's now.
      Expect if you have a really good condition one and grade it you make alot more. Don't think grading was a thing back then?

    I think its just a matter of waiting. Sets and singles being printed today, if the value of collectibles holds, will become a return on investment in around 20/25 years. But nothing will ever be comparable to old sets and everything before the bubble started. Also cause much more cards are printed today and many more people are keeping cards in mint conditions.

  • @newjones1754
    @newjones1754 25 днів тому +2

    I really like that when i opened 151 i didn't lose a crap load of money like with some other sets. The cards i had double i could sell and buy other sealed products.
    That was a great experience and i really miss that when i open temporal forces or other sets. Like the other day both 2 etb's and only got 2 ex cards. Yeah i know it's bad luck but, for that price i could have bought a nice vintage card. I'm glad i can watch your channel i'm so done with those endless sword and shield alt or booster box video's.
    It's always a blast to watch your video's and almost 4k subs! Keep it going bro! Pokeoz said he earn about 1000 a month with 10k subs. So would be nice that you can earn some extra money for your familiy soon.

    For Yu-Gi-Oh, this problem specifically exists in the west since in Japan (the OCG) they print cards in multiple rarities like in Pokémon. All things considered, Pokémon TCG players have it very good when compared to other TCGs.

    This is crazy! I had the exact same reaction to Milotic! I went looking all over the old Internet to find how to have one. I went fishing with my little kid heart racing for hours and finally got me my Feebas. Milotic is still dear to my heart to this day. Lapras is still my favorite but Milo is in my tops and always will be. Same story with the Dratini family and many others.

    valuable is a word that has a different meaning for everyone. For me, gold is worth more than platinum because I like the color much more and that's how it is for me. I collect a lot of holo cards and there are a lot of holo cards that look much cooler as the lv.x or ex or even a few full art cards (my opinion) Take a look at the Steam Siege set of cards i love the set I don't care how much it gets hated...

And then on top of that finding lugia in silver was always a dream of mine. Maybe the people who make that argument are using a poor choice of words. Instead, I think it’s more accurate to say that Pokemon cards were better before a large majority of people started seeing them as investments or quick flips for profit. Up until now, the last couple years were really difficult for players to get new product, at least on the Japanese side of things.

    BROOO THANK YOU… I never understood why people wanna spend so much on opening for the cards to be worthless like why don’t you want your cards worth money?!?! And also with all collectibles nobody appreciates anything when it’s right in front of them and you can get it anywhere but soon as it’s all gone and it’s no easy to get people always realize what they had at that time was really good they just didn’t appreciate it well it was available to anybody and didn’t have any exclusivity

    Only a minute into the video and I do like chasing high value cards but Pokémon was never meant to be an investment or money grab and people buy cars that always depreciate no matter what so ppl would do the same if Pokémon boxes did the same thing I would assume

    They definitely weren't better before, and they have always been worth money. If they were all cheap and never gained any value they wouldn't have even 1/100th of the interest from people as they do now. I enjoy looking at my cards, but I also enjoy knowing that they are rare and valuable, and that I had to work to get them and that they will continue to increase in value as long as I have them. The only people who think it would be better if they were worth nothing are the ones who missed out on rare cards that are now very expensive and are jealous FOMO loser cry babies. I'm sorry you didn't collect pokemon cards in the sun and moon era people, don't blame the rest of us for that these cards were cheap BACK THEN, you had your chance boo.
