  • I've often thought that it would be a good idea to create a macro table of specifications for a file by which we can change specs in one location so the whole plan can be updated. AND I FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT!
    Check out this video to see how I create specs and can update EVERY location that specification macro is used.

    Nice time saver Tim🎉c
    How has it worked for you?

      I love it. I am still working to add to it and improve. Had the thought the other day how I could incorporate it into my macros so that I don't have to remember all the codes and go back to this sheet, but otherwise, it's nice because it does save me a lot of time and keeps my wording consistent.

      I'm continuing to add details to it and finding this so helpful for my process!

    Tim, can you help me understand what the global identifier is?

      I think you’re talking about the $. By using the dollar sign, it makes it a global variable

    Hey Tim,
    Are you planning on having these Notes as Items in the Library? That way when you add them they automatically populate the list. Then they could be grouped and then modified on the fly.
    I guess you would have a set number that you always use and additional ones could be in the library.

      Not in the library. I save the entire thing in a CAD detail in the plan. Everything is modified individually if different than the initial setting

    Do you use the notes, or are they there only for the ability to create a Note Schedule?

    • @DesignbuildsolutionsLLC
      @DesignbuildsolutionsLLC  Рік тому

      The note is the object that allows me to create the global variable AND contain the spec data. I couldn't find a similar object that allowed me to do that all in one. The note schedule is an added benefit.
