- Just a reminder that the conditional order deadline for our TTC Gloucester subway cars is coming up on April 15, 2024. We're almost at our target so let's get it over the hump and celebrate the 70th anniversary of Canada's first subway system in style! And remember, orders placed before April 15 also get the 5% early-bird discount. We'll still be taking orders after the 15th, but if you want to save a yourself a bit of change, don't delay!

Amazing!!!! Really excited for these!!!! Hopefully at some point, Rapido Trains will do the G2 aluminum body Glouester cars because even though they were quite a temporary era of TTC trains, their cool and unique design are undeniable. Fingers crossed, but shoutout to you either way! 🫡🫡👍👌
P.S. One day, I would love to see not just your usual amazing fully lit model trains, but possibly also a lit up station diorama (like the new St. Clair station display but lit up the way the real life station lights were) Maybe a G2 aluminum Gloucester car, two- car set with a light-powered Rosedale Station display? (just an idea 😀)

Light-flickering indeed. And the cars were not level with the station floor. So, seriously, we all had to mind the gap, both horizontally and vertically. I "enjoyed" riding it on the Yonge and University lines (none of the "Line 1" nonsense yet) in 1981. The grinding of the rails were even louder near Union Station at that time than it is now, if that is even possible.

I can pretty much guarantee some wonderful person is already griping about the gauge being too narrow. They are sharp looking, no need on my layout but I think I'll get the display model for nostalgia sakes. Took many a trip on those back in the late 60's and early 70's. Lived a couple blocks from the Jane St station. Great location as it was a short bike ride to the CP Lambton or West Toronto yards. Got chased out of there many times as a little kid. Update, ordered the display set, gonna look great in my man cave.
Memories of going to the Gardens, or visiting grandma at Simpsons...

this is so nice that I almost want one set but this does not match my plans for a small layout of a very small town with a very short track and more buses than cars and people.

We have a number of steam locomotives on the way including the CP 4-6-4 Hudson (in production) and the CNR H6 4-6-0!
They need graffiti and ageing . Very prototypical cars
