My '93 B2200 had a squealing noise for a long time, I could not figure it out, then one time the speedometer needle jumped and It finally hit me on what the noise is! A month or two later I heard a pop sound and the speedometer needled dropped and hasn't moved since. I bought a cable but that was a year ago, I didn't know how bad it was going to be to replace but you made it look easy! I'm pulling out my engine now to replace the clutch and paint the engine bay, I think it's a good time put the new cable in!
Just subscribed, I also have a UA-cam channel and I do a lot of work on my '93 B2200, I installed a '01 Kia Sportage engine and building a lot of custom stuff for it.
Thank you so much Mitch for making this video. I just swapped out my speedo and it was so easy with this video helping me. I was able to get it done in about a hour!!
Thank you, I wanted to do that work on my 1993 4×4 single cab mazda , at first I had trouble and fear to mess something, but now I see you doing it , Ready to go back out there and finish it, Im here in Texas and is hot too, I wait until sunset 🤠
Luckily my speedometer still works, but if it ever malfunctions, this vid will be very helpful👍🏼. I might copy the front of your truck, but instead of chrome, it'll be black🤔
once again, nice video! Just wondering if the cable fits both regular cab and extended cab ( which i have )? You definitely have to send me a link on the hood struts, that would really come in handy!
There is a video about the hood struts on here with a link in description. Yes the speedometer cable is the same for both standard and extra cab. There is no difference in length from the gauge cluster to the transmission on either.
Hey bud, I really dig all your videos. Looks like your truck is mint condition. I’ve got a 92’ 2600 4x4 and has been parked for nearly a year. TCM went into fail safe mode and can’t seem to get to the problem. I’ve diagnosed just about every sensor and solenoids that I can think of, but no luck man. I’m thinking I’d replacing the TCM, but can’t seem to find one. Any chance you of a place to get one?
@@MazdaMitch yeah I already got an ECU from Flagship one and no dice, still in fail-safe. I’m betting it’s the Transmission Control Module, but can’t seem to find one.
Was looking for this exact video! My 1994 Mazda B4000 SE 4WD extended cab manual speedometer starts bouncing back and forth when I hit 50 mph. The needle will usually bounce between 50-60 consistently when I hit that speed. I was told I should probably grease my speedometer cable. Would this same method work on my particular truck or should I just replace the whole cable itself? And how would I pull the whole cable out, grease it with a PTFE-type lubricant and reinsert it from the gear to the instrument panel correctly if I decide to just grease it?
Señor MazdaMitch! I recently replaced my speedometer cable and I'm happy I have a working speedometer again. My question to you is since replacement of cable does your speedometer read correctly or is it off by any amount of miles?? Mines off by 5mph . I used a digital GPS active speedometer to check my speed. Thank You in advance.
Hey Mitch, I purchased and intended on swapping in a tachometer gauge cluster on my 87 b2200, when I finished the install I realized that the odomoter was 150k miles too many, Id prefer to keep the truck exact mileage as it only has 60k original miles so ive put the old one back. Is there any way around this? Or is the swap going to tamper with milage no matter what. Thanks- Dan
You can take it apart and reset your mileage to whatever you like and there's a how to in the document section on my website. It is on my list to make a video showing how to do this soon
I don’t know how I direct message you bu I have an 87 mazda b2200 and I was wanting to see if you have the same problem I do with your truck. I have a hard time getting to 75mph and have a hard time maintaining speed while going up an incline or going against the wind and if you don’t have that issue what might I do to improve it.
It could simply be wore out. No I do not have that trouble I have a truck with 135,000 mi on it and I have a truck that's been rebuilt both of them run gray go uphill go in the wind will do a hundred miles an hour. I don't know if you're running the stock carburetor or a Weber but either way if you advance the timing you'll get a little more juice out of it
You are going to keep so many B’s on the road with all your efforts. God bless 🙏

for around the clamps you can cut a section of ??fuel rubber hose and put it in to insulate the cable housing from metal clamp
You are a hero sir

Check eBay. 90% of the time it is the ECU. The capacitors in them swell. Very common to have tons of electrical issues with the 2600.

Any chance you have a video on hydraulic lifter replacement for 1991 b2600i
No but the principals are the same.
I need coat hanger plz

Do you know how to fix the indicator of the fuel in the cluster? I need help on this.
Thanks for the videos!
Nine times out of ten it's the fuel sending unit in the tank. Replace it.

I don't know about your particular truck that model year but the principle of it all is the same.
It is possible to change the cluster without damaging the speedometer cable and which is the revolution cable. 🤔🤔🤔
Just make sure youove the speedometer cable to the left of center and it's plug and play the tach will work.
Thank you very much for the help 👍👍👍

What’s the deal with the hood struts I have seen it before but can’t remember all the details
Coming in a future video.

I put it in the video description
It's also in the video if you watched it
@@MazdaMitch ok i was at lunch lol ...i look now thank you !!! You all ways answer my post
Did a engine swap
Would I be able to use the same cable?
Should be able to. I don't know what all you did, but this cable cmgoes from stock transmission to cluster
