The reason most players overthink in any sport is because they’re not being themselves. Trainers and coaches are teaching a uniform style which lead to players not being able to discover who they truly are. Magic, Bird, Jordan and Isiah never copied each other and all are equally great. Now it’s a Kyrie/Curry factory no matter the movement or size. Study players that naturally move like you and watch the overthinking disappear. No matter how much we teach the mental game and practice, players will never reach their potential until they find themselves.
Wooow you cannot believe how perfect this is. I just had two of the worst games of my life this weekend. One was a bad scoring game. I couldn't make a layup to save my life then the second one was just bad overall game from playmaking as the point guard to contributimg offensively in any way. This is just perfect💯💯
I had that problem sometimes growing up in high-level soccer. Nowadays as a basketball player I don't give af and I have a really good natural feel for the game because of soccer. But now I lack a little bit of skill. But I'm getting there.
I love all the different clips that you use, especially from the nbl. I may be biased as an Australian, but I think it’s such an exciting, yet underrated league.
Fast Thinking Brain=Instincts/Subconscious Slow Thinking Brain=Conscious(controlled) Thoughts You train your "subconscious" with skill training, habits, and mindsets. Takes a long time to reprogram your instincts (like fixing the mechanics of your jumper), but its possible with consistent work! You train your slow thinking brain with maturity, perspective, EQ, and less focus on feelings.. Focus on your jobs, focus on the team, and focus on winning!!
I really like what you said about how in a lot of cases there is no right or wrong read/decision, unlike football where there's almost always a right and wrong read/decision. This will help to loosen me up.
Dropping gems my man. I’ve been following you for quite some time and I always find something great at one point or another. Keep doing what you’re doing. Love the content. God bless and much love from a fellow hooper.
hi coach, can you make a guide on veteran who play casually ? I follow this channel like religion when I was in college, but since I don't become pro I only play every now and then. Please if you think it's a good idea, make a guide on conditioning, warmup, and drills for a veteran (25-35years old) who just play after not playing for a long time. I played a pickup games, and my knee makes a pop sound when I defend someone, went to traditional massage and luckily it's not acl tear or anything serious. I hope this idea or story helps someone, train 'crab walk' (defensive slide) if you havent play basketball in a long time.
Bro I started basketball a yea4 ago and I've improved so much but one thing my peers keep telling me is that my moves are slow and predictable please how can I be faster coach?
😊go to the court every morning, shot the ball with left hand then right hand 10x each, at the side of the ring then front and under the rim. Then try to go a little far until u reach the 3 point line. Front to sides
The last reason it's my problem. Because, I know a lot of different moves, passes, a a lot of things. But my coach says me showing off, and i don't know what should I do? But I definitely not showing off🥲
my love for competing outweighed my overthinking and allowed me to shine
💯‼️

Overthinking is from anxiety, anxiety can only be cured by the Lord Jesus Christ. I tried everything for years and He was the one that set me free.

Ive been playing seriously for 2 months, and I say Im really struggling with shooting I was wondering if anyone had any tips or advice

Watch great shooters , emulate , reps on reps
