the way Egon awkwardly, clumsily and consistently looks down for his camera mark as he weirdly steps forwards and backwards is pitch-perfect comedic acting. combined with his 10/10 line reading and that great, great writing . . . i mean, how many different ways can i call a thing perfect? it's really, really funny AND tells you everything you need to know about the character in maybe four or five seconds. this movie is a miracle. i can't say enough good things about it this morning.
I miss Harold Ramis a lot. May he rest in peace and may God always be comforting his family. May he rest in peace also David Marguiles, the mayor and Elmer Bernstein, who did the musical orchestration of the film.
I absolutely love this movie. The comedy, the writing, the odd ability of Dan Aykroyd of being able to speedily and concisely enunciate the science, or presumed science lingo, the different personalities of all of the cast conflicting and yet melding so perfectly here, it really is an amazing show that keeps me coming back so often!
It's a visual cue because he knows how rediculous it sounds, showing off his higher intelligence and superiority, his sarcastic attitude throughout is what makes his character so great because he gives off the perfect impression that he is above all of this ridiculousness and and that the job is below him.

Costuming details were exceptional in this movie! If you look closely, all 3 lab coats still have square creases like they just came out of their packaging. It makes sense if you think about how the commercial would have been filmed in "real life" but would have been intentional in the movie's production. Those small details hardly are noticeable, but make such a difference in building the world of Ghostbusters.
Love how they had to make a certain amount of takes GHOSTBLASTERS because they still weren't sure if they could get the rights to the Ghostbusters name.
I love how this clip shows that the Ghostbusters were entrepreneurs still deciding their business model along their journey. Their goal was not to save the world, yet to make a lot of money. Such a awesome movie.
I love that Bill Murray deliberately blinks every time he steps forward to say his part. Suggests to me that his blink was deliberate rather than just a natural quirk.
It puts in perspective how much goes into creating that prefect scene, then multiply that by the number of scenes done for the movie. I would go mad myself lol.

At the south end of the Uptown is the staircase to that street corner. Once you reach street level, just do a 180°, and boom, there's the firehouse. From the Downtown platform, same direction, same 180°. You'll just be on the other side of Varick Street, next to an NYPD Horse Stable. )

@@jestube I think they were considering Ghost Smashers at one point, but yes, they had to license the name from Filmation, who had done a Ghost Busters cartoon in the '70s. Filmation later re-released the cartoon (and toys), which had two guys and a gorilla (?) fighting ghosts, but it was eclipsed by the cartoon based on the movie, called The Real Ghostbusters.
Man oh man, I love seeing stuff like this, one of my favourite parts of the movie, because of how Ramis makes Egon look so awkward in front of the camera, and barely has anything to do there, like when he looks directly down for the marker.

okay, i'm ranting. i'm so in love with the creative genius of this movie that i'm ranting. but look at how great it is how they just have Janine _standing there_ while Ray talks about their "courteous" staff. it wasn't in the movie, but it's a hilarious touch. not for nothing, but if that scene were done by Paul Fieg in _Ghostbusters 2016,_ Janine would have ad-libbed _several_ lines about her Facebook page or MySpace or wanton soup or whatever. sigh. i really don't like to compare the two movies, since one is a giant and the other hardly exists at all . . . but it needs to be a screaming reminder to the makers of that incompetent claptrap that the public _won't_ tolerate a horrible product just because we were scolded and shamed to on social media. the movie _itself_ has to be entertaining, or failing that, at least not humiliating to sit through while in a theater with other people.
