  • After going back and listening to my Raw Sound video of this I felt that it didn’t do it justice and that the Marshall didn’t show it off the best. I’ve since lowered the pickups to vintage Stratocaster spec and adjusted the tremolo. It feels just as good if not better than the MIM strat now.
My playing lends itself to a Southern Rock (countryish) type vibe but thanks to my Dad I am schooled in all classic rock as you may see on some of my vids. Enjoy!

I just got one and I love it! Playing through a Mustang GPX 50. I put .010 gauge strings on. Amazing guitar!

If I keep uploading videos I’m going to have to invest in some actual recording software because the iPhone is NOT capturing the full body sound. There’s no depth, it’s almost transistorish. Hmm...

Same guitar I have..using it with a blackstar idcore v2 along with architect, guitar rig 6 pro and amplitube 5....it's best for clean tone and crunch...i mean to say just awesome, even better than mexican strats in sound.

Yea I like the cleans for sure. I sold my 2011 maple neck mim standard after I bought this. It’s pretty awesome.

So what is your opinion of the pickups? Mine is that they're pretty bad. I'm putting in Duncan SSL-1's in the neck and middle, and a Duncan JB at the bridge.

I have debated putting a JB in the bridge as well. The bridge pickup reminds me of a coil tapped humbucker. It’s lacking some overall power. The neck pickup and middle pickup are your basic alnico sounding pickups. They are stratty. I already have a sss strat with 65 pickups in it and the lower output of the bridge of the 70s CV is making me want to put a hotter pickup in it. If vintage is your thing I think these sound fine. The bridge is a tad hotter than a normal strat bridge. If you’re wanting a hotter sound I would replace them. Hope that helped.

Also the humbucker naturally sounds fuller. Gives off a Boston vibe or an early AC/DC sound compared to the normal brittleness of a single coil bridge.

...so I have spent over a month debating whether or not to replace the humbucker mainly with a JB, Tone Zone, or Pearly Gates. After hours of listening I’m going to keep the stock pups in. I think they are great overall for what I do. If I want to play harder metal songs I’ll either use this, my Les paul or just buy a guitar more geared towards that (charvel, Kramer, etc) that has a Floyd.

Hi,Can the bridge humbucker pickup on 1St position be controlled by tone knob.?

No. The tone knobs do not effect the bridge pickup. Thanks!

You can get it wired to do that.

Just takes a half inch piece of wire.
