  • If I pay $15 for a $7 lunch at a Community Cafe, I help create a sustainable local economy where those with privilege pay it forward so that others with fewer resources can enjoy delicious, nutritious local food. Restaurants operating on the pay-what-you-can model are growing in popularity around the country. I describe what a cafe in our town could look like, to supplement the emergency safety net of choice pantries and free school lunches.
