Love that dog, the Ernie ending. Butter, Jam, Cream 100 percent old School eating. Lovely views and all the fun! I think Ernie enjoyed the run in the long grass, they do when it tickles their belly, like a belly rub for them!
He loves running in long grass unfortunately I think that's where he picked up a tick but soon spotted and removed so hopefully no ill effect. Yes to your scone methods. 😉😊
Ellesmere....a wonderful little town with lovely people........The first Mrs Webb and I had a great time there back in the 80s............ I will never forget the market,,,,they were selling 80% guaranteed double yolked eggs! All were! Something to do with first time layers,,,,,,, Just, a lovely little town......As always, thanks for the video

Hi guys! Well done Paul for helping those boaters your right we all had to start somewhere boating. I liked the way you calmed them down and were kind to em, nothing worse than seing someone no enjoying boating because they arn't sure about what to do. Liz your right some boaters are miserable buggers, but majority are great and will always smile and say ello :) The car is the biggest pain in the backside for boaters, spend more time moving the thing than you actually need it. You'd be better ditching the car and just use buses and trains if needed. Love the new sofabed goes well in the boat :) Paul if you had to make a living as a comedian....Yerd starve to death haha! :) I just had a thought, I hope you tried the bakers just by the bridge in Langollen they make a massive pastie and pies that will blow your mind. I think they call em a Stogie? Loved the vlog as always, can't wait for next week :) ps: Liz was right butter, jam, then cream, stop being a heathen Paul lol :)
Yes with the scone method 🙌 Those poor people on the boat bless them they were so panicked and not sure on what to do..couldn't have been a great start to their boating adventure, hopefully they soon picked it up and enjoyed the rest of their holiday. Moving the car can be a right pain but for now we kind of need it incase of family emergencies or anything but maybe oneday we will consider ditching it. No, we didn't try that bakers, what a shame I do love a good bakery, maybe next time. 😊
Thanks Jayne and so glad you enjoy the videos. I've got a huge art project underway on the boat at the moment but unfortunately you'll have too wait a few weeks for the reveal 😉😊
Great help for the newies Paul, they must have been so stressed. Yeh Liz some baoters are so ignorant. They pass us, stare into the boat windows, I wave and they look away! Well don't nose if you want to be ignorant! Glad Paul got the bus ok 👍 Love your new sofa. We need new lounge seats, no room for a sofa, we have Benny's crate up front for when I shop and we leave him to sleep in his bed. Keep to the crate so we know he's safe and can't chew anything. He has been a chewer, but one day we went out with him in his crate, got back and I hadn't locked it, but he was still there asleep!
Argh bless little Benny..staying in his crate, his comfy space regardless of door being open or closed, that's a good sign that he was in there, means he's comfortable doesn't it in that space. 😊

Brilliant vlog, guys! Always the adventure but always happy to help others. Love that and fabulous scenery and Ellesmere is such a quaint village. Glad you could drop off the car in a safe spot so you can save a lot of time now. Congrats with the new, all inclusive sofa! Now you can turn it into a big bed for cozy winter tv evenings! But no sign of the roof boxes yet… lol! ❤🦮♥️
Ellesmere and Chirk are beautiful places aren't they. Yes it's nice at times to not have to worry about moving the car. No, still no roof boxes Eric..I've still not convinced Paul to build them 😉😊
@ i’ll need to talk to him then! Heidi has them and so do Julie and Martin, they are really very practical and you can use the solar panels on gas struts as doors so you can angle them for more direct solar. Plus you have less clutter on the decks and a very much needed art room! Fingers crossed, Liz, i’m rooting!
Those poor holiday makers. I can't believe that the hire company just let them go with practically no training! Well done in stepping in with help and advice 👍
Hi Ann, there was about 5 people onboard so it could have been he case that a new person was trying the tiller or something but I agree horrifying for them to be put in charge of a vessel that they aren't confident controlling bless them, I hope they got the hang of it and started enjoying their holiday. 😊
Dear Liz, Paul and Captain Ernie Paul I love your sense of humor, you cheeky sod, lol. Hey guys. A couple of close calls there Carlos you done well with that 70 footer or should I say 69 and half😂 Well you both certainly got us talking 😂about the scone situation. Have a fantastic week x❤
The newbies really needed a hand (that'd be me if I ever got on a narrowboat!). Well done with your help Paul. BTW, toss the jam and cream...try butter and vegemite on a plain scone...yum! Thanks for another entertaining vlog guys. Cheers.
Some people pick up handling the tiller quickly and some don't...don't forget I'm still not confident with it after 15months 🤣 but hopefully one day I'll be able to help people just like Paul did then 😉😊
Your a Hero Paul or should I say Carlos the way you took control of the situation. Another great vlog. Hand yes I like your new sofa . Until next week. Bob
Thanks Bob, I'll pass on your worshipping to Carlos 🤣😉😊 no, seriously though thank you for joining us again and watching, we really appreciate you watching us weekly 😀
Hi guys well done Paul helping that boater. We hired a boat many years ago from Blackwater marina and they gave us a comprehensive hand over including coming out with us for a while until we felt confident. Not sure why those guys headed off on their own. Not good. Great vlog as always ❤
They may have been given a good talk too but there was about 4 or 5 onboard so maybe some else who hadn't done it yet wanted to give the tiller a go or something, I just hope their holiday got better for them and they all enjoyed it as I'd hate to think they were that nervous throughout. 😊
@ luckily my husband took to the tiller like a duck to water I on the other hand still prefer to just do the locks. Enjoying your Llangollen trip, we’ll be heading that way in March♥️
Woof to Ernie Good night to Liz andPaul I love watching your you tube videos on your you tube channel I hope every one is well and enjoying your adventures on your narrow boat whatbdo you say to duck that wont move out of your way ? please keep safe and warm and please keep up your good work on your you tube channel well done Paul for helping other boat people woof woof to Ernie
Oh you are a tease Liz, keeping me in suspense! Anyway, the Walsh version of a pastie, from the bakers on the left just before the top T junction, is called an "Oggie". As you can guess its base is minced lamb, what else would it be in Wales 🤣 The "Stotie", as mentioned before, is a North East roll which is twice the size of a normal one. Lived in Northumberland for 11yrs, we have got around 🤓
I suppose eventually some sort of proficiency test will evolve to be in charge of 20tons of boat .Nice of you to lend a hand.Still enjoying the trip bringing back memories of my mother trying to jump on the boat whilst crossing the Pontcycillite aqueduct 😂
What can I say except a very good video once again. Thank goodness Paul helped the other boat, you were lucky. Ernie certainly enjoyed running free in the long grass. Liz I'm with you on the topic of scones, jam then cream. Thank you for sharing. Take care and stay safe 😊x

Hi there David, thanks so much. The pontcysyllte..yes you'll get to see that mammoth aqueduct next week eeekkk Solar has been awful bit at past it's been fairly dry though 😊
Heh heh, I had one of those Bond class boats with my friends on the Llangollen this summer for our first time narrowboating. We did numerous cock ups and panics, but luckily we weren't filmed. I think they get battered around by us Hire boaters, heh.
Everyone has to learn somewhere don't they bless them, some people take to the tiller straight away..I'm not one of those people and I'm still leaning over a year later. I just hope those holiday makers enjoyed their holiday despite their rough start 😊

Ha ha Carlos 😂 Hi Andrea, that was a close call but they'll soon pick up the tiller control only takes a day or so before you kind of get the just of it...or a year or 2 in my case 🤣 Chirk and Ellesmere are beautiful places, and the little independent shops just make it all the better 😀 Hope you are well 😊
Hi Mick, the big big aqueduct was quite something, looking forward to you seeing it and counting how many times I say 'oh my god' 🤣 Thanks for watching 😄
Good evening guys thanks again for a lovely vlog 😊. When you mentioned about the bridge number having a W for wales , and some thing said thats wrong I'm sure it was directional so l googled it and l was right. "Bridges on the Llangollen Canal are numbered in two directions, starting from Frankton Junction in Shropshire. The 'E' numbers count eastwards and 'W' numbers go westwards. Gledrid Bridge marks the start of the World Heritage Site and is number 19W". Beautiful towpaths and great scenery. Till next week bye guys keep up the great work .
Yes that's right the W stands for West.. did I not write that on there in the end..I must have missed it out then whoops. Glad you enjoyed the video Simon 😊
You can walk on the aqueduct, on one side. The side with the railings has a pavement. The other side has a concrete area but no railings so the sign may have been that side. 😊
I had to bow haul our boat through chirk the first time. We realised we had to take it slow on a second go. Bet you are away from there now but Saxon's wood at Gledrid offer fab wood at a good price, burns so well and long.
Hi there, yes I walked through the tunnel with the bow rope too, just to help it through as the flow tends to push the boat at an angle. We are away from there now but good to know about the wood for future though thank you 😊
Honeslty Sue, on this occasion we'd seen the same people a few days running and on each occasion they either looked the other way or just stared right through us..they were definitely living by cliff Richards song 🤣 😊
well done paul a few beers very nice how much did they cost you we have largars in cans its cheaper we keep them very cold if i was there it would of been 6 pints no bother .we could have been on the piss .why not indeed
I read that the W actually stands for water as when there was a problem along the cut the water repair men were going to the wrong bridges so they started putting W ,I only heard that last week off another vlogger
Oh really, we were told it meant West. I'll have to have a little Google now. Thank you so much for watching and thank you again for the coffees, we really appreciate it 😊
Hey guys. I realize bigger cities and the really nicer areas would be more expensive but, are the home prices generally around that price range ($100K - 200K) for a medium sized home in most of the UK? We just built and I hate to say how much we spent... 😲..lol. Thanks for another one. Take care.
I think those prices were really quite cheap. Not so much towns and cities that bump the prices although yes they do but connections to train lines do bump up prices considerable. Where we lived in Kent the average 3 bedroom house would be around £400 - 450k so a considerable difference to those houses. 😊
do you ever worry about the car .why do you keep a car just a thought at this time we have had some funny weather its like its raining but its not .i started work to day just after half 7 this morning .on my way to work it felt wet but it wasnt like rain .it was really very strange.wales is a great place if we had the money we would go tthere to live but one can dream .its good to see ya all its wednesday i cant believe its here again .
Don't really worry too much about the car, it's an old car and is very weathered to put it politely so I'm sure it doesn't attract to much attention. We keep it for now in case of family emergencies or anything that we need to get back for. When we looked at the weather it's going to be dry for the next week but like you said there was a very slight drizzle in the air earlier but I'd take that over the recent downpours that we've had 😊
When people anywhere don’t acknowledge a “good morning” from me, I usually say nice and loud “don’t say good morning then you miserable fart” lol. So far I haven’t had a smack in the face! 🤪
I'm sending a big hug to Julie. Bless her. Tell her I have a huge art project underway right now on the boat but unfortunately it won't be in the videos for a few weeks...I think 4 more weeks and she can see it 😀

Ha ha Carlos 😂 Hi Andrea, that was a close call but they'll soon pick up the tiller control only takes a day or so before you kind of get the just of it...or a year or 2 in my case 🤣 Chirk and Ellesmere are beautiful places, and the little independent shops just make it all the better 😀 Hope you are well 😊
@@uponreflection *All well here....i'm enjoying the warmer weather... now if only it would stay sunny every day...🙂.*
Looking forward to watching next week on the big big aquaduct great as always keep it up
Hi Mick, the big big aqueduct was quite something, looking forward to you seeing it and counting how many times I say 'oh my god' 🤣 Thanks for watching 😄
Wat a lovely cruise with lovely scenery love your vlogs and the banter between you both can't wait for your next vlogs 👌
Thanks Terrence we are so happy to hear that you enjoy the videos. Thanks so much for watching again. See you next time 😊
Good evening guys thanks again for a lovely vlog 😊.
❤
Thank you so much for watching 😊
Another great vid 🤘🏻I noticed don't walk signs on the aquaduct I walked on there lol wouldn't now thow lol
You can walk on the aqueduct, on one side. The side with the railings has a pavement. The other side has a concrete area but no railings so the sign may have been that side. 😊
Oh dear. Scones. Cream first then Jam the Devon way of course. Those across the border do jam then cream xx
How do you spread the jam over the cream though Marianne?😊
@uponreflection you don't you put a big dob on top 🤣 normally don't have the butter the cream replaces it 👍
I had to bow haul our boat through chirk the first time.
We are away from there now but good to know about the wood for future though thank you 😊
We always say people that don't speak.....Cliff Richard (song) We don't talk anymore.
Butter,Jam and lovey cream.
Honeslty Sue, on this occasion we'd seen the same people a few days running and on each occasion they either looked the other way or just stared right through us..they were definitely living by cliff Richards song 🤣 😊
👌👍
Thanks so much for watching 😊
Bus car whatever as long as I get a beer when I get back ;^)
A reward at the end. Perfect 😊
Loved the vlog, who did the artwork on your boat
Hi Tina, which artwork are you referring too? I do the artwork (liz) 😊
well done paul a few beers very nice how much did they cost you we have largars in cans its cheaper we keep them very cold if i was there it would of been 6 pints no bother .we could have been on the piss .why not indeed
A pint of larger in that pub was about £4.80 I think. It's a treat every now and again 😉😊
@@uponreflection bloody hell paul i get 4 pints for 5.99 thats pint cans of course but i only have 1 before i go to sleep to many i wouldnt get up
I read that the W actually stands for water as when there was a problem along the cut the water repair men were going to the wrong bridges so they started putting W ,I only heard that last week off another vlogger
Oh really, we were told it meant West. I'll have to have a little Google now. Thank you so much for watching and thank you again for the coffees, we really appreciate it 😊
Love the colour of your new sofa. Just interested if it's a sofa bed and where is it from. Planning to get a new one for our boat. Thanks x
Hi there Karen the back folds down into a small double, it's second hand but originally I believe it was front Very. 😊
Hi Liz did you look at the cleaning bags for Ernie. Bob
I did but I could only find cleaning towell and then this like blow up thing that goes around them 🤣
do you ever worry about the car .why do you keep a car just a thought at this time we have had some funny weather its like its raining but its not .i started work to day just after half 7 this morning .on my way to work it felt wet but it wasnt like rain .it was really very strange.wales is a great place if we had the money we would go tthere to live but one can dream .its good to see ya all its wednesday i cant believe its here again .
Don't really worry too much about the car, it's an old car and is very weathered to put it politely so I'm sure it doesn't attract to much attention. We keep it for now in case of family emergencies or anything that we need to get back for. When we looked at the weather it's going to be dry for the next week but like you said there was a very slight drizzle in the air earlier but I'd take that over the recent downpours that we've had 😊
hello LPE whats going on there oh dear .still you have to learn dont ya .good to se you all.
Bless them, they had only just got the boat so didn't know how to move it, they were very grateful for Paul's assistance 😊
@@uponreflection yea pauls a good man you can see this on screen
The ones that dont make eye contact are probably from London lol.
Oi, we from London ish 🤣🤣 we polite and have manners I'll have you know 🤣😉
When people anywhere don’t acknowledge a “good morning” from me, I usually say nice and loud “don’t say good morning then you miserable fart” lol. So far I haven’t had a smack in the face! 🤪
🤣🤣 this made me chuckle..I might try this one 🤣😉😊
The answer is you shout orange sauce to them then they will move
🤣🤣
Xx
Thank you so much for watching 😁
The person who I got the information off thought the W was for WALES 😂 please left me know which of us is correct 😂😂
According to Google it is how we worded on ours, meaning that the numbers go westwards. 😊
Cheers for clearing that up ❤
liz your like me i dont do buses legs or bike
🤣 if you can't get there by car or boat then I don't get there 🤣 well unless I'm walking the gorgeous Ernie of course 😊
