Nate’s personality has come out so much more this year than ever before and it seems like you both are genuinely enjoying yourselves. It’s been so enjoyable to watch, since ive been watching y’all since 2018. Can’t wait for many more years of videos!

I worked for the Waterways for many years and you guys depicted it so well. It's a whole community and there is always someone willing to help. Well done guys you did great! ❤
Massive grin on my face watching you go through my country’s lovely countryside. You rarely see youtubers go there, but this really shows how beautiful it is. And narrowboating is an institution! I’ve always wanted to do it, and you have reminded me why. Also watching you guys explain cask ales and canals makes me realise what it must be like for anyone watching your vids from that particular country, it’s great seeing you experience it all for the first time!
What can be better at the start of a 3 day weekend than with a new Kara and Nate video? I just love how you shout out Eamon & Bec and Habit and also Craig & Aimee ❤
i was born, and haved lived here all my life and i always let the views that you guys see in this video go over my head because its so normal to me. this video, however, has made me appreciate how beautiful my country can be 💕. thank you for being my favourite travel people on youtube
I have been living in the UK for 9,5 years now and I am just amazed day by day how beautiful the famous British countryside is. Beautiful country for sure!!! I am grateful to be able to live in such a beautiful country :-) I hope I can get to try these narrows boat for a few days too one day it looks so much fun
Yalls personalitys gets me through these weird days im having rn. The little comments like "you did great, you only hit the wall 10 times!" make me laugh so hard. AND THE "KATE AND NARA". Yall also give me the confidence to ask for help. Thank you.
As a Canadian with an English husband, I remember first seeing and learning about the canals. Especially seeing the locks work for the first time. Now when we visit family, I love running on the canal paths, seeing all the green on the sides and boats in the canals. ❤
I feel like there is an entire community of people in the UK that just hang out by those canals and locks just to help out. Everyone is so polite and helpful.
Holy cow Nate! You've grown so much in your freedom to be yourself on camera! Kara is always dang adorable, but you were so funny. All episode was just a lot of fun and both of your happiness really shined! Sending so much love and safe travels to you from Columbia Falls Montana! You came to Whitefish for skiing!❤
Nate seemed especially goofy in this trip and I can see how much Kara adores that side of him. Kara, I love your ability to take uncomfortable moments in life and realize that you CAN do it! It inspires me. 💕💕 What a fun video! 🥰 You guys have seemed to enjoy the last few months so much! Keep the memories going for you and us 😂🥹
I'm too ill to travel anymore so your videos have been a lifesaver and kept me from going stir crazy being stuck in the house. Thank you SO MUCH, Kara and Nate.
Who raise your hand if you’re loving all the canal videos this week- great minds must think alike, since several of my favorite UA-camrs are doing canal videos this year. Loving seeing it all, and how even though everyone may go to the same places, they all capture different things in their videos. Cool to see. 👏❤️
How’s it supposed to be pronounced? In my east coast of the United States speech pattern, those two words sound exactly the same but if they’re not supposed to, I’d love to know how Wales is supposed to sound - I’ve had a pretty good handle on the other one for a while. 🙂
I am enjoying this adventure of yours, my last stab at canal boating was about 15yrs ago when I could still jump off and tie up but now I am wheelchair bound and unable to ever do that again but get enjoyment from watching other vloggers do their stuff-thanks for inviting us all 👍
Your videos make me realize how much joy there is in the world and how much I need to embrace it! Can't wait for my next trip overseas! Thank you for the constant reminders, Kara and Nate!
As a Brit that loves cask ales and spends a lot of time on the canals, I went through a range of emotions watching this video. Firstly, Wales is not a Whale... 🤣 I was happy, that you chose to take a narrow boat out. I loved that you enjoyed the great British countryside. I was horrified that you compared a cask ale to a flat, room-temperature American beer though the beer you chose looked super light, you want to try some darker ales. Most of all, I'm so happy to see my homeland at its best in one of your videos ❤
This is my favorite episode yet!!! My husband and I love watching you two have adventures we'd never be brave enough to do, but this one is something I'd never considered. We love travelling around the UK in the summer (we are teachers in Florida and it's just too hot here). We also love exploring without having to drive. This mode of transportation looks fun and different and we're planning a narrow boat trip now. Show us more ways to travel without driving!
I watched a series by Downie Live a while back where he traveled the canals by narrowboat and I had never even heard of it before. It looks like so much fun, although a bit scary being the one to maneuver the boat. Your footage was beautiful, such stunning views to take in and what better way than just floating down the canal right in the middle of it. Dreamy Kara had me cracking up! Too cute!!! I really want to stay the night in that unicorn and panda boat, that was so much fun to see. The locks seem terrifying, although I'm sure they're a bit easier than they look. I can imagine the relief you felt when the second lock had two people helping you through. I love that random people just stopped to help with the drawbridge or anchoring the boat to the side at the end of the day. That last aqueduct looked seriously so scary with that drop on the one side, but you two did great, as always. Such a fun adventure and amazing footage.
@DownieLive 's narrowboat series added narrowboating to my bucket list, this video just bumped it to the top! Looks like such a great mix between adventure and relaxation.
Im actually a Brit from Ellesmere! an amazing place. I’ve been watching you guys for years now and Didn't think you guys would come to such a small town! It’s really surprising and lucky to be one of those places that tourists don’t visit much. Safe travels!
I’ve grown up with canal boating as family holidays they are a different level of chill. Watching the world go by at 4mph in the middle of the Welsh countryside. It’s so beautiful and a lovely way to be close to nature. I Love your videos. Keep up the good vibes ✌🏻
The canal towpaths you mentioned are brilliant for easy countryside walks as you don't hit any hills. I also walked down a canal path every day to get to university when I was younger. These waterways are such a staple of the UK countryside. It says a lot how something so well known and ordinary to us as Brits is still fascinating to watch when you guys make a video about it! 🙌
I loved this episode! It feels more like the Travel Videos you guys put out pre-pademic where you weren't always staying at the best locations and going to more interesting places. Keep it up!!!
This is probably one of my favorite videos. Love the scenery of this one. I miss your van life videos and this definitely brought it all back. Thank you for sharing!
So funny watching you guys do something that isn’t crazy fast and risk taking. Just beautiful to see you contemplating and going slow but still sharing such beautiful experiences and scenery. I loved this one. I am old need these kind of inspirations xxx
I am really loving this new content where you guys go on new adventures, letting us know what all new possibilities are there to explore! you guys are literally writing my travel bucket list !! thanks for the work you put in!
Fantastic episode. One of your best. Loved the leisurely travel interspersed with suspenseful antics. Kudos to the locals who provided needed assistance ❤
These latest videos hit home for me! I work for JetBlue and are glad you liked the Mint experience! I also have family in Wales - the weather can be awful but it’s a beautiful land! I dragged my (pregnant) wife on a week of canal boating in 2001- we were like you guys, didn’t know a thing and yet we had to complete a full 100 mile ring in a week (and about 95 locks!) It was an amazing adventure! Liked it so much we did a different ring with some friends in 2007! I also know Llangollen well and have walked (and ridden) across the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct many times over the years…it truly is an incredible feat of engineering and, yes, it is scary! If this were in the US, it would have warning signs everywhere and be completely sealed to prevent people falling to their deaths!
Who else said “Yes!“ when Nate said he missed van life?!? I found this channel during their van life adventures and it will always be my fav and have a special place in my heart.
Brilliant! I’ve been waiting for you to do a ‘proper’ UK adventure. We have a share on a boat on the Norfolk Broads. Very different to the Llangollen canal, but as we are Welsh we appreciate your fleeting visit across the border. Glad to hear you are still in touch with Craig and Amy.
my favorite thing about being a fan of multiple travel youtubers is seeing them try the same thing, you guys all have different experiences and i love seeing how you handle it.
I’m so grateful for having them to share their experiences with us! I love watching their videos every week both here and on daily drop. Thank you Kara and Nate!
I used to live in a narrow boat for the first six years of my life in England so this video is so nostalgic for me 🥰🥰 hope you enjoyed your time in our beautiful country xxx
The ideal combo is a narrow boat plus bicycles. That way you can explore farther afield if you want to, pick up groceries etc. 2:38 Four mph is 6.3 kph. 4:15 Steering is easier once you realise you're not trying to move the bow but the stern. So to curve to the right you move the stern left by moving the tiller to the left.
Kara shouting I’m not having any fun as Nate gives a maniacal laugh made this the BEST video ever!! Enjoyed your latest adventures so much!! Aloha from Kauai, Hawaii 🌴🐬
You two are literally living the life i wish i had done. Travel and world culture experience is the greatest gift in the world. Thank you for sharing your journey.
I live 5 miles from Llangollen and walk my dogs along that canal, if would of been amazing to see you both. Hope you enjoyed this part of our lovely country xx
You two really mix things up & do such interesting stuff ! This one is in my neck of the woods, good to see you enjoying the Welsh Borders & canal life.
As a Welsh girl who moved to America, I miss it so much! I will always recommend seeing North Wales and the Snowdonia region. I’m from Bala and the lake (Llyn Tegid) is amazing along with the Bala railway! Love seeing Llangollen as well! Cymru am bath!!! 🏴🏴
This is so strange for me to watch, I’ve lived in the Llangollen area my whole life so to have you guys coming to see it is amazing it’s a beautiful place!
This particular adventure seems so accessible to most of us. I've never been to the UK but this would be an amazing part of a trip there. Thanks, as ALWAYS, for sharing your travels!!! ❤❤
I really appreciate and enjoy you putting in the educational/history part of this video. Would love to continue seeing that in the future! Would have enjoyed you doing more exploration of the local towns and less van life parallels (the home-cooked ramen lol), but really really did appreciate the history of what we're seeing you do!
Never heard about this type of trip before and had someone described such a trip to me, I wouldn't have thought it would be something I'd like to do. It looks absolutely amazing. Definitely will be looking into doing this at some point.
Did the Oxford Circle in my much younger days! This brought back so many memories. Bonking (as we called it) into the walls was a frequent occurrence, and not getting the locks closed tightly enough! Actually drained a section of the canal one night! Boy, folks sure were mad the next morning! And they knew it was us because we were the last boat in the line up. Ah, fun times! Thanks for the vid! You two are great!
I actually want to do this now! Thanks so always inspiring us and showing us little places of the world we wouldn't have known of otherwise! You both are really great :)
my nan and grandad used to live in a flat (appartment) alongside that canal and i used to and still do go down to the river and watch the boats come past. so relaxing and one of the best parts of my life hahaha. they live in leighton buzzard!! huge fans of you guys btw!!!!
this may be one of my fav videos from y’all. this was so fun and relaxing to watch! i never even knew something like this existed and now i so badly want to do it😂😂
3:03 I think Nate's super American tash would give you away... Your the second wave of my foreign subscribed to grace the waterways of the U.K., I'm going to see someone from UA-cam eventually on my travels one day.
Ahhhh another Saturday Kara and Nate cartoons! Looks like such a fun experience! The bloops at the end always make me laugh bahaha! I watched the daily drop video too and it was fire- like always 🫶 excited to read todays newsletter! Thank you for sharing this weeks adventure! Not gonna lie yalls UA-cam videos are like an art and comedy show to watch all in one 🩵🩵
They all yes on UA-cam This is their job,do they yes when they go too another country it is for work or something else when they tick the reply, Quister box.😮😮
So much fun! We spent two weeks on a canal boat circling through England many years ago. I think seeing folks living in the boats was what got me interested in van life.
I love every single one of your videos! You both are such a cute couple!!! Thank you for continuing with the travels. ❤ don't ever stop. I won't know what to do with my Saturday mornings
I've been following you since your Trans-Siberian railway videos which got me hooked. This is another one of my favorite videos of yours. So unique and with a real sense of adventure!
Delighted to see you have had so much fun. I live in Shrewsbury, not at all far from Wem. Great to see you enjoying the beautiful Shropshire and Welsh countryside. My husband and I have run a few times along part of the stretch of canal you have travelled. It's made me smile to know you have visited and enjoyed somewhere so close to where I live. Happy travels....I would love to see more van life travels from you x
This was one of our favorite videos y’all have done! And we now want to own a narrowboat and travel through the canals for a year haha 😂. I also love Nate’s sense of humor in this one lol
Love this... the Llangollen Canal was the first canal my family did over 20 years ago, we then went on to do a canal holiday every year and even brought a boat 13 years ago
Aww this video was amazing! Seeing you guys Enjoy some of my home towns was a pleasant surprise, I've always loved Canal boats and funny enough I've been on that exact one you guys rented, Hope you enjoy your stay in Wales our country side is beautiful :)
That was so entertaining and I think you guys should do a longer canal boat trip through England Wales or Scotland and join up with "Craig & Amy from Kinging it" and then you could take turns and compete in challenges like you've done before! That would make an epic vlog for both of your channels! And hopefully a bit of an adventurous holiday too! 💕💕👍😍🇬🇧🏴🏴
Hi Kara and Nate, great canal trip. You guys really did good. Beautiful country side, so pristine, like an oil painting. The boat you rented was a little claustrophobic but the perfect 🤩 size. You guys did an almost perfect 👍 job of piloting the boat, haha. Just enough bloopers to make it so funny, loved it guys. You two are the best. See you on the next adventure.
That was a super fun video and one of your best (and that is saying a lot). You guys really know how to put them together and edit them. A canal boat holiday is way up near the top of my list and in the UK too. Ive done a river/lake one in Ireland and that was a great experience. And yes I know all about steering and parking issues 😁. Kara's British accent is actually improving!! Look forward to your next one.
Cruising the Cut is a great UA-cam channel that introduced me to narrowboating. The sound of the engine and nature make it great nighttime video before bed
I could totally relate to Kara freaking out when Nate left her to get a snack 😂 I would be freaking out too but it’s good Nate gives her that kind of push!! You got this Kara!!
That’s what we’ve been trying to tell everyone for years! There’s more to England than London, Manchester and Birmingham. Our towns and villages are beautiful too.
I have been watching you for years now, and I can’t believe you’re in my home country of Wales 🏴🏴🏴 hope you enjoy all that there is on offer ❤

Its called the canal and river trust
There are people who man them all year round and they have houses beside them too
Yep, they're called Lockies x
The official CRT lockies are volunteers but just regular people like to help as well. It's a way to socialize, get exercise and help out all at once.
Gongoozlers. Seriously... The word actually means people who like watching the activity on the canals.
As a Welsh person this made my day “WHALES” I understand that you don’t know what it is but it’s spelt like WALES
Omg I had to scroll through way too many comments before seeing someone write this!!! Fellow welsh person here and I was like 😂😳

This was brilliant! So glad you got the sun for it too. The boat rental guy was lovely.
You'd love the countryside here just like we love your beautiful country. Love Italy especially Lake Garda... beautiful place in the world.
Come on over. Great scenery, food, people
I really appreciate and enjoy you putting in the educational/history part of this video. Would love to continue seeing that in the future! Would have enjoyed you doing more exploration of the local towns and less van life parallels (the home-cooked ramen lol), but really really did appreciate the history of what we're seeing you do!
Whales. This made me LOL
Love you guys!!!!
Never heard about this type of trip before and had someone described such a trip to me, I wouldn't have thought it would be something I'd like to do. It looks absolutely amazing. Definitely will be looking into doing this at some point.
Check out DownieLive's multi-part series on narrowboating, too. I've wanted to do this for 25 years... maybe someday!
*Wales like the place not the massive sea creature. So cool you came to the UK!
I actually want to do this now! Thanks so always inspiring us and showing us little places of the world we wouldn't have known of otherwise! You both are really great :)
I’m from a tiny village south of Wrexham.. not too far from Llangollen.
Thank you for showing everyone how beautiful our country is 🏴🥰
This is absolutely amazing! Didn’t think foreigners enjoyed our crusty old canals!
That was so much fun to watch. Hope you do more UK adventures x
my nan and grandad used to live in a flat (appartment) alongside that canal and i used to and still do go down to the river and watch the boats come past. so relaxing and one of the best parts of my life hahaha. they live in leighton buzzard!! huge fans of you guys btw!!!!
I’m from the UK so it’s so cool to see you guys in the country !! and show that there’s more to England than just London 😂
this may be one of my fav videos from y’all. this was so fun and relaxing to watch! i never even knew something like this existed and now i so badly want to do it😂😂
3:03 I think Nate's super American tash would give you away... Your the second wave of my foreign subscribed to grace the waterways of the U.K., I'm going to see someone from UA-cam eventually on my travels one day.
I love that you two actually seem to genuinely LIKE each other. Not all vanlife / travel couples do.
lol wow
@@jj-if6it um, what?
@@DawnAgran what travel/van life couples don't like each other?!
@@jj-if6it lol, did you take that personally?
@@DawnAgran weird comment that's all

You guys are in my home country but it’s spelt Wales 🏴 🙈
Although they are there, I doubt they have a Work Visa.
They all yes on UA-cam This is their job,do they yes when they go too another country it is for work or something else when they tick the reply, Quister box.😮😮
Spelled
@@MEEE.com. is there any need? Also, I live in the UK… and we spell it… spelt
Wales is my home country to❤😊
So much fun! We spent two weeks on a canal boat circling through England many years ago. I think seeing folks living in the boats was what got me interested in van life.
You are on such a high adventure roll right now 😍 super great travel ideas and video ideas!!! Really love it! Thank you for awesome content! 🤩🤩🤩
DownieLive did this weeks ago and his video was amazing!! He was very informative and showed how beautiful the canals were!
Nate is so funny, I'm used to seeing a more serious version of him but this one, he was a but chaotic and im here for it
Delighted to see you have had so much fun.
DownieLive recently did this and it was a hoot! Thanks!
Whales? The welsh are gonna come for you 😂
Aww this video was amazing! Seeing you guys Enjoy some of my home towns was a pleasant surprise, I've always loved Canal boats and funny enough I've been on that exact one you guys rented,
Hope you enjoy your stay in Wales our country side is beautiful :)
Just want to give props to the increase in your vlogging/youtubing skills. The effort really shows and pays off.
this is so crazy seeing kara and nate near where i live and doing things that ive done! hope you guys had a good time
its so crazy that I have watched you for years and id never thought you'd be 30 mins away from me at any point!
Wales! The welsh dragon will take revenge I’m sure. 😂
Dang, the Walsh folks randomly in chatting or helping out just made my heart so happy. Love it!!!❤❤❤❤
I'm in the UK and a Cask Ale drinker. Nate's description of it was incredibly accurate 😂
As a narrowboat fan, love this video
That’s a lot drinking a whole cask
This was like something out of post-card! I never thought England could be so gorgeous. Now I just have to go there and live this adventure!
The Welsh bits were lovely too.
That’s what we’ve been trying to tell everyone for years! There’s more to England than London, Manchester and Birmingham. Our towns and villages are beautiful too.
I have been watching you for years now, and I can’t believe you’re in my home country of Wales 🏴🏴🏴 hope you enjoy all that there is on offer ❤
seeing you two so happy and relaxed was such a joy to watch
