For those of you who want to skip straight to the driving - 3:16
Jimmy Broadbent good job on this 1 jimmer
We Appreciate your work Jimmy!
Love your vids mate
Jimmer 3:16 says i just whooped Nurburgring's ass
love ya vid mate
No Jimmy it's important to know the specificationd of a car specially if you are going to drive it :)
Even without driving i cannot speak that fluently
ikr, jimmer is blessed with racing skills and speaking too
Yes I can't
How he brakes iuu can't sp3ek I a nooooooooooooooooooooooob
When im driving, can't listen my wife on go driver seat without missing every junction we supposed to turn in to😅
This car is so good that Jimmy didn't even say hello to the Rebel Tree
vakvanya1 don’t worry the rebel tree said hi to jimmy instead
McRider 777 that’s why I was worried, hopefully Rebel Tree’s feelings are intact and Jimmy didn’t lose a friend
Sad
Those cars didnt need aero. The weight of the drivers balls kept it stuck
Some Nobody that makes more sense
that's true to shit

How are you not a professional racing commentator? You’re so good at quick details and exciting play by play. Fantastic lap as always
He does some sim racing commentary. I don't remember exactly which series, but yeah, he does do commentary
@@filmandfirearms He commented for the Grand Turismo Sport esports championship If I remember correctly
@@joshua17331 Yes, that was it. Matt Gallagher got to go head to head with Lewis Hamilton
Fun fact: you can do donuts in 2nd gear with traction control on in this thing.
Source: tried it last night
...traction control....???
this thing doesn't have traction controll. If you turned traction control on you put the ingame tc which probably lets you get some slip in a low setting
@@Obi-WanKannabis traction control via a drivers right foot. Its a lost technology regretably.
hahaha, traction control... hahaha.
there’s traction control in the game not the real car........

I would never skip to the driving, love your Intros🔥
I hope someone creates an Intro-Compalation :D
It's the best part. I've seen him 'drive the schleif' tons of time. The intro and first 2 minutes of the track are most interesting.
Dungeon 50 that would be great! 😁
I'd love to see you do some more classic F1 cars, obvious follow up would be the Lotus 49c, see how much difference some wings and tobacco sponsorship makes to the speed!
Dale Barber lotus 72 would be interesting
Absolutely, a different F1 car from every era would be awesome
Cigarette liveries add 200hp
@@scullystie4389 Really? I always found cigarette liveries played havoc on air intake.
@@katrinapaton5283 🤣
Love having you geek out over the car at the start.
A bathtub with 400 hp and no seat belts. With zero downforce and zero safety stuff on tracks.
Brave men then.
Oh yes, the ones who survived.
I remember when you drove the Matra at old Spa: pure madness.
Denis Corazza don’t forget; the drivers chose not to bother with seatbelts because being thrown clear of the car and taking your chances with the ground was considered preferable to being strapped to a car that was probably going to become a fireball. Self sealing tanks, nomex, and the avoidance of using combustible materials (like magnesium alloys) were still many many dead drivers, spectators, pit crew and Marshals away.
Rip Jim Clark
I heard this description in a video from a film produced right after it debuted. Wonder if Mr. Chapman coined it?
Hey Jimmy, this got me thinking, how about a GP Legends stream one of these days?
If the game wasn't a mess to get running on modern PCs he'd probably have done it already
Well there's an F1 super mod called F1 challenge VB which has every single season of formula 1 in it. So you can do a play through from 1950 season all the way to 2018 (2019 is in development).
It's a bit annoying to download if you have slow internet as there's a lot to download. But if you follow the set up instructions correctly, it'll run perfectly well on a modern PC :)
@@Obi-WanKannabis The original GPL is easy to get running?
@@RonniePeterson I have tried multiple times and I haven't been able to make it run fine. Always has some errors, even installed all the patches that supposedly fix it.
Gpl runs best on windows xp, if you are installing any mods though you need to make sure you use GEM+2, which is the program for starting all the mods
A few comments before I'm going to watch this:
- No other car is more terrifying on this track in VR
- You have to be soooo gentle, most of all on the brakes
- Answer to the title question: However fast Jim Clark would make it go

Now this I can get behind.
jimmy broadbent in jimmy clark's car on the nordschleife. what a historical moment to be seen.
*sheds tear*
*shed* s tear
Clark was so dominant in that period as he was smooth with his inputs; you improved from Pflanzgarten onwards as you went back to a more progressive approach.
Bit of a personal connection to this car, Jim Clark was my grans cousin and arguably the best driver of all time!
I want all your "how fast ..." intros like this, jimmer
How about trying the Porsche 917/30 on the Nordschleife? No traction in slow corners and absolute rear grip in higher gears are very scary in the fast bumpy flat out corners.
917/30 is a beast, it's a bigger work out than going to the gym, done it myself recently (albeit on the PS4 version of AC) it's a larey bugger but good fun
One of the prettiest most amazing cars ever. Glorious!!!!
I agree, the 49 is among one of the greatest designs in F1, along with the McLaren M23, Mercedes W196, Maserati 250F and honestly, the Tyrrell P34
That was pure madness well done Jimmy Without downforce the only thing keeping these cars on the road was the drivers weighty balls! 5 years on I still love that lap still cant come anywhere close to it!
Great drive Jimmy! Not only keeping it quick and on the black stuff, but commentating the whole lap - that's a skill not many have! great job!
That giddy little giggle at 3:29 is what I live for
Now for the 1967 Ferrari 312 in Assetto!
my favourite track-car combo. It's just so raw and enjoyable.
Never unimpressed with Jimmy's driving. I can't keep this car out of the grass or off the wall around the nordschleife. Amazing
9:40 8:44 You're doing a fine job Jimmy. Nobody is suspecting anything.
These kind of old open wheelers are my favourite things to drive in AC. I just love how loose and free they are. You have to constantly dance with the car, feeling it's limits, and trying not to exceed them. Modern open wheelers are cool too, but I find them very razor sharp. When they snap they snap hard AF. These older beasts are more involving in some ways, yet more forgiving at the same time, as even though you lose time when you go over the limit, you can also usually go over the limit quite safely and continue driving. Whereas in a modern F1 car even putting a tip toe over over the limit often ends up with the car facing backwards or in the wall lol.
You should do a video testing out the recently released early '60s 1500cc F1 mod cars. The sharknose Ferrari is a ton of fun to drive. I'd recommend '66 Monaco as the location.
"Man that was hairy"! Way to hang on to it! Nice job.👍
"When you try and force it, that's when you start having accidents"
That's a mantra for life 🤣
The kind of video, along with the Matra around the old Spa circuit, that I keep coming back to just to listen to the engine.
Jimmy I would love to see a 100% series with these classics around the vintage tracks. Especially with the Expanded Wanglecanon, we could watch his grandfather tear around Spa in a Lotus.
Bonus points for the lack of wings, so Grandpa Wanglebork won't have any to break.
I had to stop and go back to the time stamp because I wanted to immerse myself in the noise with the headphones, which I didn't have on for the intro. I liked the intro. Wasn't too long and was full of interesting information.
Haha I love that jimmy is even using the 60s wheel movements
The cosworth DFV was so good on its first race the only thing that happen was a broken timing gear. Once they figure out a timing gear damper the vibration was gone. It was game on. That’s another part still in used in modern f1 cars. The engine was literally unchanged for a bunch of years until the turbo Era where it died out. I love the DFV engine.
5:57 "It's like a salsa full of flare, full of expression" Jimmy, 2K19😂😂
Dang Jimmy, your heel and toe skills are exceptional!
Hey Jimmy love the channel. I've been wanting this game when I found your channel. As soon as we move I will do what you do because you inspire me. Thank you and keep up the good work. Most of all stay well
8:42 Beautiful!
Perfect commentary while driving. Well done!
Driver: How much downforce does it have?
Team: Get on the scales.
JIM CLARK - By far the greatest driver ever - no doubt. He is and was "The Best of the Best" (Fangio, Senna, Prost, Stewart and countless others about Clark). No other driver in history until today was so superior as Clark - No other driver as so much "Grand Slam" - Pole/Win/Fastest Lap/Leading every lap of the race - like him. And all that from just 72 starts... !
This man is the Olymp of driving - the Michelangelo of racing - a dynamic art at the highest level. So smooth, so precise, so fast....simply out of this world. One, who won in Spa by 5 minutes (!) in monsoon rain with only one hand at the wheel (!) because of gearbox trouble...One, who takes back a complete lap (!) in Monza and back into the lead... One, who took pole on the original 22,8 km Nürburgring track by 9 (!) seconds and more....One who won Indy by 2 whole (!) laps...For eternity and by lightyears unmatched in the sport. That`s just four examples of his mesmeric unique genius...
R.I.P. The GOAT Jim Clark.
Keith Duckworth and his DFV V8 are abosulte hallmarks of F1.
That's one hell of a lap you just put down, man. That's sub 7 seconds while testing a car's off-road capabilities! lol I must be crazy, as much of a workout as that lap looked like it was, all I could think is how much fun I'd have driving that thing!
In the sim, of course... I don't need a reason to shit my pants in real life.
Minutes*
Your Lotus 49 lap is 3.76 seconds faster than mine... I'm comin' for you, Jimmer lad.
Did you ever make up that 4 seconds?
Wow that was a great vid such fun to watch. Completely cannot see what’s happening in the shadows just wonder if he’s still got control! Would be amazing to see this car driven for real
One of the best laps here! awesome video!
That was a nice time, just 7sec off form the WR, not easy to achieve trying to tame this beast. Good driving Jimmy 👍
I love how clearly I can see individual trees in the play button reflection lol
Nice! its weird i haven't driven this car in AC in forever and i take it for a spin yesterday and you upload a video of it too!
That sound is fucking unbelievable.
One of my favorite cars ever :)
Jimmy really spoke truth modern f1 is like operation while old f1 is like dancing
I'm a new subscriber. Great video. What are the various components of your sim rig? I'm researching sim rigs to buy one and this video had me on the edge of my seat just watching. It all seems very, very realistic.
My favourite F1 car ever and I love driving it around this track. I've been waiting for you to do a video to see where I can pick up time. Looks like I can't!
3:28 gotta love that giggle
Would be cool to see a picture-in-picture of the lap replay from a broadcast perspective, to really see you battling the car and getting around the course...I know that's mega editing but it would be interesting, especially in a car like this
Great video. The DFV was designed for the 49!
I was just driving a Ferrari 312 67 at this track. I opened up UA-cam and found this. Awesome!
"Big Brit™ attempts to collect Life Insurance."
Wicked lap.
Nice driving in this legendary car!
Im one of those who drove it for hundreds of hours in gpl back in the day. It seems more forgiving to drive in asetto corsa. F**king awesome lap however impossible to do a lap under 7min in gpl. That lotus 49 had lots of more understeer. If u missed an apex u would have an accident. Much more poisonous backend which was easy to take over the limit. In this speed u would have gone of several times in gpl. Jackie stewart once tried the original and said it was really close to the real thing 😊
But a great performance drive Jimmy 👍👍
Now we're talking. I learned this track using these cars in PC2. Crazy fun to drive in VR.
Please do more classic f1 car laps like a Tyrrell
The Six-wheeler!
oh also the fan cars!
Who else greeted the rebel tree while jimmer had his hands full with this lotus? Lol. Love what you do man!
9:20 Jimmy doing some lawnmowing there 😉
Love your videos, especially the ones like this, with old F1 cars
Those first few years of 3 liter cars were piloted by absolute madmen.
Hey Jimmy Awesome lap !!! Can you tell us what is your diff setup for Nurburing ?
I love driving this car in VR. Amazing experience.
Jimmy you really should do a Nordschleife lap in reverse (just disable penalties so you don't get teleported in the pits)
I love how that beast keeps spinning the rear if you rev up too high in first n second gear
hell ya. one of my favorite cars to (attempt) to tame. its such a monster, what with wanting to be driven ever so slightly sideways due to the old bias play tires but making very difficult with that big surge of power at the top end.
I’d love to see the McLaren MP4/4 around the nordschleife. There’s a mod for it online.
The most talkative driver ever !
Curbs at the Nordschleife send you into orbit
I swear his outro is the best. I love the music.
Great lap Jimmy
Jesus you're fast. Just got done lapping this got a 7:31 🤯🤯
Was just reading a comment about this as a request on the Donington Park video, that's some nice timing
That car would be one hell of a Salsa partner 💃
This is so awesome! I'm new to this, so sorry for the stupid question, but what sim is this?
Thank you Jimmy.
O man the sound of that engine!
I think I’m a competent fast driver until I try to match Jimmy around the green hell. Something to aspire to.
Hey !!!!!! Brand new i love your channel since 1 week !!!!
0 dislikes 🏅👏😱😱😱
😟 not anymore
One of my favorite cars to drive, even with a G25
Enjoyed that, cheers Jimmeh
Hi Jimmer, why you give throttle when you shift down? Sorry for the ignorance but I'm a beginner and I want to learn more. :) Lovely car in an amazing circuit.
Hey Jimmer, any chance you can upload some reply's so we can.get the cinematic experience? Thanks for everything!
I know the F1 geeks always say fangio was the best driver in F1 ever but I always thought it was Clark. The type 49 had the speed of the golden age of F1, and the instability of the previous era. It was quite literally a rocketship on wheels.
would be even harder if the track was of the same era as this car , without the red and white kerbs to know what way the track goes , and trees right to the track edge
Yes Jimmy!!!! Long time waiting!
what about a lap on the lotus 25?
I tried driving the 67 ferrari in ac, that car is so hard to drive yet so fun
That vr headset makes you look like a Borderlands 2 character
Would be amazing to see the Brabham BT46B fan car! If you want downforce, you'd have it with that car!
The best car and best track to learn racing from.
Trip hop Jimmer in the intro
Fckn crazy,pass the moonshine!
