6:40 that is a Shako shomeisho sticker, and it's essentially a parking permit as every car in Japan must have a specific parking space that it can belong in that's not on the road (you can't even buy a car if you can't prove you have a space for it)

Couldn’t agree more about what Luke said. There are better cars out there, but nothing will compare to the feeling you personally get when driving it. I had the same feeling driving my classic mini, many years ago. Get it out on a narrow, winding country lane and you just can’t beat that feeling 👌🏻. Great vid chaps ✊🏻❤️

I love my 1990 MX-5. It’s a Canadian import to the States with nothing but power brakes. No AC, Cruze, Air Bags, abs or power windows and steering. It’s the closest thing to a street legal go cart and it’s just the business. Only aftermarket kit is the canvas soft top and flying Miata 1.5 suspension which makes it so much happier in most conditions.
v2 channel way better than normal channel lately.. I always said a mx5 is the sort of car I'd love my Mrs to own.. so I could have the pleasure of driving it without admitting I owned one..
My mate has one of these Eunos Rosters in a similar colour. I used to drive it once a week to a local car meet for him before he had his full licence. I used to think a Honda Jazz was a small car till we pulled up next to one in the Eunos, and the Jazz looked massive. This model MX-5 is my sisters dream car but will never own one as she can't drive manual, I took her for a spin in my mate one, and she loved it
Quality guys! I love MX5's I've had 3 of them all 1.6, 1 was MK2 other 2 were MK2.5's. fantastic cars bulletproof engines but very underpowered. Hilarious to drift round in the rain 👌

I had a Eunos Roadster V Special about 6 years ago, absolutely great car. I had a Boxster, 911, SLK320 and CL500 afterwards and I'd definitely have another MX5 and not the others.
As a fellow tall MX5 owner, if you want even more space and comfort with standard seat I gained a full 1.5 inches on top of the foamectomy, try this: Remove foam, with the seat in place, use a lump hammer to massage the tin of the bottom of the seat to better fit your posterior, put back together. Done

“Something that handles better” .. you’re gonna have a hard time finding something that does that for less than Porsche money !! I’m on my third NA mx5 because nothing feels the same and I keep going back !!
Taylor and Luke are great to watch. Good humour, gentleman manners, great taste. Rory's camera work and comments are spot on. I would not compare Autoalex and V2- they form a perfect synergy- cool to watch as entertaining videos, useful for car guys, especially those who are into youngtimers (some name them soulful sh*tboxes).

Getting out looks like me with my Scirocco. Great once I'm in it but swine to get out of and the doors are HUGE. Do like a MX5 but thought one maybe too big a challenge as a daily at 55 😂

Had a 1.6 marina blue eunos too. loved it and was a great daily, if a little slow getting left for dead by the local diesel taxis off the line. sadly got written off by a drunk driver who joined a roundabout at speed! moved on to mk2 mr2 and never looked back

I've never seen a Miata rust despite having lived in the Detroit area for years. If you don't know they use salt in the winter like they are trying to cure the roads. Now I have seen quite a few with time released natural speed holes since everyone knows lighter is better.
I owned a 91 Eunos Roadster and planned to fit a supercharger from a Mini Cooper (they were really cheap at the time), so I fitted a Megasquirt ECU which could be mapped for boost and which also eliminated the mechanical air-flow meter and added a proper throttle position sensor. The car performed so much better after replacing just the ECU that I decided not to bother with the supercharger.
They're glorious cars and I couldn't be happier with my S-Special! I'll pile on the miles and take good care of it, though I am very very jealous of Luke's paint that he has on Kurt there. I'd never even driven an MX5 before getting it and it just feels perfect, though there's still some ways to go before its truly mine.
Its really pretty, the color and the wheels and the meat on them. If it were me I'd have a bit more ground clearance, more suspension travel.., a bit softer, just a tiny bit.
I think a certain French Blue Renault Clio needs to go to Yorkshire Car Restorations….. Can’t believe the suspension didn’t move when the two big lads got out !
You should consider looking at the MG TF. Its a worse miata (but mid engined) competitor that is half the prize, and nobody ever talks about them, because they kind of fall under the old people cars.
I am by no means an mx5 guy, but I've somehow ended up with a 200k mk1, although its not been smooth sailing, but when its good its as good as tbey say
I had a green eunos roadster my ex took it too Saint Helena after our break up I got her back and rusted due to sea air! But my god when I got her back and put some love to her she was ace! Unfortunately she was stolen and burnt out 😢
I work on and build mx5 race cars for a living, mk1's too. i can only see race cars with these now, its strange to me seeing them on the road and with a roof and lights lol
I do believe that sticker is the parking sticker that you get from the police station once you prove to them and a police inspector comes out to verify that you do indeed have a parking spot for it 😂 yeah it’s a pain and another reason K cars are popular cause they don’t need one. Mine sits somewhere in my clove box I think or it might still be in the document folder 😂
