I wish I could agree with you on this swimjig, but I bought a few to try a while ago and after landing a few decent fish the blades came off too easily. Not a big deal as you mention here in the video, but for less than half the price 6thsense swimjigs are just too good to overlook. Dirty jigs also makes outstanding swimjigs that have the most resilient paintjobs along with santone lures...actually several great makers out there offering more value. warbaits swimjigs are great as well and they probably offer the best skirt colors on the market; their mossback and roach offerings are deadly panfish imitators. I did like your skirt tip here...I typically use thinning scissors to make the skirt irregular but what you did here looks damn good! In any case, great vid!
Hello RB, Been watching you since the early BASS and FLW days. What really has impressed me is the fact that you are one of the pioneers of JDM product implementation! I’m actually in the process of reinventing my rod inventory. I’ve been using GL NRX for years but I have come to the conclusion that there has to be better JDM technology out there. What I’d really appreciate is your input on the single best moving bait (treble hook, bladed jig, spinnerbait) rod in the MB top shelf line. My research has indicated Valkyrie 71mh or the Destroyer Daemos as potential options. The blank specifics I’m looking is probably a glass/composite mix that is crispy (softer tip with a solid backbone). Glad to see the veterans are still going head to head with the younger generation!
Good luck in your tourneys. We will be rooting for you. I would love to take advantage of your lake breakdowns but you guys have done “ZERO” western lakes. Great info as always Randy. I love your vids and am a huge fan of both IA and FTM pages.
I've been throwing a modified Uoze jig with a keitech and they crush it. The only problem I've been seeing is the wire for the blade breaks very easily
I have a question I am a little bit lost I hear some people say they fish jigs with braid and I hear some that they use fluorocarbon but then I hear people say that they use fluorocarbon because the fish can not see it but that is not true because I have fished fluorocarbon and I have seen the but gill bitting at the line so in my mind if the blue gill see it then the bass do too can you please shed some light on this, please
I like the jigs but the blades that are attached are not built for coming through cover... the 2 that I owned ended up becoming 13 dollar swim jigs after the blade arm detached from the lure after a couple hours of moderate use
that blade arm is gonna break off on your second cast. I would know. That being said it runs true and is a really high quality swim jig. Well besides the under spin aspect of it.
@@cooperroy4070 the connection of the wire to the head snapped. I don't know what to tell you. The above comment say's people in japan have the same issue. Its a fine swim jig and if your under spin actually stays on even better, but it shouldn't have this issue.
3/8oz swim jigs in a bluegill or crappie color's work great for me in small lake's I fish that has very few shad and also 1/2-3/4oz wobble head jig's with small paddle tails in the same colors as well... hopefully help you out a little bit, good luck out there!
Good video to bad can’t say the same for the swimjig. Picked up a few 3/16 oz an 3rd cast the skirt came off. You’d think for the price it would hold up. But MegaBass is more geared price wise for people with money to burn not the working man. 😢😢
Love this info but realistically I’m paying a shit ton of money for those uoze swim jigs I’m not cutting off anything or tearing anything. That modification makes sense for him because he’s sponsored. Legit tackle hacks though.

What a dream to sponsored by Megabass!!! Love your videos! Thank you

Another great lesson. Also like the Ghostbusters poster. Good luck at the tourney.
Good luck in the Tournament Randy, and thanks your very helpful.
Me and alot of other fisherman was swimming casting jigs for a reaction bite for years before the manufactured ones where popular
Once again, awesome info! You have also given me a new life goal. A tackle room!
Good luck in your tourneys. We will be rooting for you. I would love to take advantage of your lake breakdowns but you guys have done “ZERO” western lakes. Great info as always Randy. I love your vids and am a huge fan of both IA and FTM pages.
We will work on that!
As a local DFW guy, DO NOT underestimate the Lewisville Dam...
I like the looks of that one, thanks RB!
Thanks for sharing. Will definitely give them a try.
Wow. I need about 5 of those NOW please.

Thinking about getting a couple, but I've heard mixed reviews..
Any issues with the weed guard being too weak or the blade coming off?
I like the jigs but the blades that are attached are not built for coming through cover... the 2 that I owned ended up becoming 13 dollar swim jigs after the blade arm detached from the lure after a couple hours of moderate use
Great content. Thanks.
Only problem I have with the swim jig is the wire breaks pretty quick but it does catchem.
Alternative vid name : destroying expensive swim jigs with randy blaukat
Do you have an affiliate link for this swim jig?

how does that make any sense it works the same way as under spin most under spins are connected the same way
The Megabass ones are too delicate to fish around heavy cover. Ppl in Japan have the same issues as well.

I fish mostly a small lake with very little shad. What jig colors and size
Would be the best 👌

Did yoh put the paddle "down" on purpose?
Dude thank you!!!😀😀

Best swimgjig on the market!
I will say the weed guard on it doesn't make it come through really HEAVY cover the best...
How is the titanium wire attached to the swim jig?
It is cast in the head.

I haven’t seen u do anything to the skirt near the blade do u cut it back any I seen u thin ur skirt with ur fingers but not near the blade?
Better tham osp ones? Swimjigs should able to fish around weed and OSP swim jigs are the best.
