I haven't purchased anything since the Alice in Wonderland launch, but this one spoke to me. I think they're unique and perfect for the upcoming fall. I ended up picking six colors and I'm happy there was a lot to choose from so there's something for everyone.

Thank you for being so speedy! I'll never understand the decision to make jelly-based polishes matte. Anyone who wants it matte can throw on a matte top coat, but making it matte means you can never get it back to the true deep jelly look, even with a glossy top coat. 😔
Of course!! And yeah I totally get what you mean, I do like the occasional matte polish but I do think I prefer it when it’s a shimmer vs a more squishy jelly!

great video! i did notice you doing recreations of MC’s polishes with others, just wanted to say that was a good idea! as someone who doesn’t have the money for the polishes, having comparisons of recreations of the MC polishes side by side helps a lot when knowing what polishes to buy to get that similar experience! would love to see this in more future vids ❤

And i’m glad you enjoyed those recreations, its not something I do often (mainly bc its time consuming, but sometimes bc I just don’t have the right “elements” to recreate lol) but i’m glad at least the comparisons to existing shades helps too! i’ll def try to incorporate some more recreations though :)

Yee Haw!! It's Fall (in terms of polish drops) y'all!! So exited!! I've realized I'm not a huge fan of the multichromes/duochromes for myself. I LOVE looking at them but I definitely gravitate to a creme/jelly/holo + all the toppers/sandwich type of mani. And the shimmer/flakie polishes I feel like I can dupe fairly easily. They're all still gorgeous to look at!
lol yesss!!! 🤠🍂 i’m finally starting to get excited for the fall collections now lol! and yeah I’ve always felt the same around multichromes, they’re one of my least favorite finishes to wear myself but I do think some are stunning and for sure just gorgeous to gawk over 🤩

Omg Sand Viper is the first neutral I really like. I also love the browns. The blue reminds me of some of BKL's dark blues buuuut might be different enough to get... just wish Nailland would stock them and not just Hypnotic over here in EU siiigh.... wonderful work on the video as always!

Ironically your swatch of Prickly Pear made me want the polish, despite it being an ugly/pretty color. I was on the fence before but now I really want it.
As always great review with fun presentation and background (that kitty…). I am European and more so Swiss - Rodeo is not part of my culture but I instantly thought of YSL African Collection (minus Moonrise). I am always parted about similar shades in the same collection. Looking from afar it feels oblivious and as if one or more of them have taken the space of a more varying color. On the other hand it‘s an opportunity to give various skintones their perfect match.

I love that you have some PPU/indie shades to pull for comparisons because they make up most of my collection 😂 I have so, so many Pinks with Blue shimmer.. But it's like I can't resist them, no matter how many I aquire 🤦♀️ (I'm currently trying to avoid buying this months Pahlish from HHC for this reason) Moonrise is really calling to me with that super strong Blue shimmer 👀 My absolute for is Midnight rider - there's just something about that Blue-Black holo finish that reminds me of the night sky. It also reminds me of a polish I had as a teen, so there's a hefty dose of nostalgia attached 😂 I appreciate all the comparisons as always 🥰🥳👏

When I first saw these sneaked I was not super stoked. But I actually really love some of the colors! Will be fun for fall. I ended up picking up: Sand Viper, Whiskey Sunrise, Fool’s Gold, Dark Horse, Midnight Rider. I think my fav is whiskey sunrise and sand viper! I can’t get down with prickly pear. 🤪
My thoughts exactly!! I was like huh, okay I guess 🤣 I think bc we’ve gotten a few desert/cowboy collections before it doesn’t feel super unique to me, BUT I do appreciate the mooncat take on it! Yess Sand Viper & Whiskey Sunrise are my top 2 favs!! And prickly pear is an acquired taste isn’t it 😝

It makes such a huge difference to me because I am also cool toned as well so it gives me a better idea of what itll look like on my skin 😊 Im planning on getting the sandy viper it looks nice on you. While I thought rhe whiskey one was interesting its not something Id wear often so I passed on that. While I appreciate the color story they arent colors Id reach for.

@@PolishedYogi lol its okay It took me awhile to figure out my undertone. The way I did it was using foundation as a reference I always ended up getting a match in the cool toned swatches. For light skinned cool tones r more pink and warm tones more yellow. Neutral is in between. Its alot of trial and error but it works out.
These nail polish collections are killing me!! Lololol Mooncat, Cirque, Holo Taco... Goodness!! And they're all so beautiful so I had to cop a bunch of the shades from each brand 😂😂
Seriously! I grabbed 1 from cirque to show kelli support and bc its LE. My MC and HT wishlists just got a bunch longer, will be waiting for a sale and/or to pair it with a reward I like

Moonrise definitely reminds me of Ethereal Lacquer's 'Sakura' that was on PPU this year. It makes me very happy considering that Sakura is listed on mercari for $50+ and i will never spend that much on polish 😅
Omgg you’re so right! I think the blue shimmer is a bit more pronounced in mooncat but other than that they’re SUPER similar! And woof at that $50 mercari price tag 😮💨 I’d still be curious to see them side by side though hehe
Thanks for sharing... idk about the first and third ones.. i have never had issues with multichromes streaking just metallic's, and I wish you threw the topper over those two actually feel they would've looked divine with the topper, and I wonder if the topper would hide the streaks ;-)
Yeah those 2 I was bummed I didn’t love more! They look like such cozy shades. Ugh that’s true i shouldve put the topper on over those browns!! The swatches of that look soo stunning 🤩 & you’re right they probably would’ve hid some of those brushstrokes haha! I think i notice it because I usually am heavy handed with my coats 😅
Hi Stefanie, thank you for this. I know what you mean about Dark Horse and Bootlegger, the formula reminds me of Mortals be warned. So far I've resisted any from this collection. There were a lot of releases this year. I like sand viper, but feel can make with a nude creme and HT's scorched earth. I picked up What a brilliant nose, and if you put that over another it can appear more beige. LOVE the comparisons - I have a lot of browns and oranges, eg Cirque's Eye of beholder and Molten (LLP) but I honestly don't wear that much, so nope. I have a lot HT's toppers, and you creating Pricky Pear gave me an idea, I wonder if I could recreate Midnight Rider with a navy creme and Freezer burn or one coat of house of hades ... hmmm! I'd like to see Bermuda Triange next to Moonrise - those are 2 shimmers I don;t have ...

And Midnight Rider too, I don’t remember if I tried to recreate it at some point but Freezer Burn + a holo flakie topper can def give you the same vibes! So glad you compared When the Devil Strikes with Golden Nights. I suspected they’d be nearly identical. Oddly though, when I saw Golden Nights, I was charmed but I had no reaction to When the Devil Strikes. I wonder if it would’ve been this way had Mooncat’s come out before Cirque’s. 🤔 I agree all flakie gold toppers are like 98-100% the same. 😂 That’s why I went for ILNP’s Karma which was the cheapest at $10. The matte finish on this one is unique, though. But tbh I don’t see the point in matte polishes because the only way to make a matte manicure last is to put a layer of glossy top coat over the polish before adding a matte top coat. So with a matte-finish polish, you may be saving a layer and step but you’re more likely to chip and need to spend time repainting in a couple days-I don’t think it’s worth it.
Haha yeah I do think release order has an effect on excitement unfortunately 😅 but at least mooncat is a ml more for $1.50 less! And ohh yeah Karma is a great one too, esp for the price point!! ILNP always wins tbh lol. I love their flakie toppers, funny enough I don’t have Karma either but I really love Empress, Compass & Confetti! I understand what you mean about the longevity of matte polishes. I haven’t done a wear test myself, but I do believe I remember Michelle stating that you can use their matte topcoat without doing the extra step of glossy topcoat first and it’ll last as long. I’m def skeptical but also curious about it!

Wild, I never thought there’d be a day when Mooncat is more affordable than Cirque Colors. 😅 I’m very into the squishy or glassy glossy look right now, but when I crave matte again, I’ll have to research Mooncat’s topcoat to see if other customers can back up that claim. If it is true, I imagine the matte finish polishes might last too which would be great news.
Moonrise is gorgeous. It wouldn’t look good on me but it’s still absolutely gorgeous. One coat, two coat, three coat-just captivating. But Sand Viper is going on my wishlist. Prickly Pear looks good in 2 coats but I kind of think it’s ugly it in 1 and 3. 😅 Midnight Rider looks more like a starry night sky than any polish I’ve ever seen.

Like Holo Taco, I never got swept up in the Mooncat hype. I appreciate the comparisons, though. Can I just say that I am so tired of holographic flakes in everything? It’s like green shimmer, I’ll be excited about a unique shade and bam! holo flakes and “even green at extreme angles” shimmer.
lol yeah mooncat is def guilty of adding holo or flakies (or both) in almost everything, I can understand getting tired of it 😅🙈 I think there’s a ton of hype for mooncat rn bc they seem to be doing what a lot of other smaller indies do regarding their more “out there” finishes, so its just exciting for people who are only familiar with boutique brands? thats my best guess anyway
I really kinda hate linear holo and even scattered holo if it's too much. Just a light sprinkle will do. Maybe it's the old skool in me but I don't like Metallica either. Right now I like irregular flakies and a warm and a cool in the same polish.
ILNP thinks everything needs holo until a year or 2 ago when customers started leaving suggestions. And I remember how we all were upset there wasn't even a top coat let alone base coat. Don't get me wrong I love their buildable formula. And I want the entire overcast collection

Bootlegger kinda reminds me of the tigers eye stone! Personally I love most of these shades. Only like two I’m not crazy about. Im def seeing the blue in midnight rider changing to a deeper/black color personally.

I actually thought prickly pear was cute. Looked like a nice juicy green and the flakes definitely give prickly vibes. I just wish it was a little more opaque. The blue polish was also so pretty, but I'm also just a big fan of dark blues. Speaking of, right now I'm wearing a sort of experiment. Cirque's cobalt jelly with alexandrite from lights lacquer on top. It went from cobalt blue jelly to opaque, very deep gray almost black, with a kind of subtle blue shimmer. I still want to own a mooncat polish someday though, the house of hades collection looked so dang pretty

Yeah kinda!! They have a similar pink base color but i think the shimmer is more green in Pahlish where its just blue in mooncat, but still absolutely love both lol

I was really excited for the theme of this collection and equally excited when it was teased that this would be the 10 polish collection Michelle mentioned months ago. That being said I'm a bit bummed that there are 3 brown shades that are quite a similar finish (all sorta shimmer multichrome-ish). I don't mind there being a lot of browns cause it's yeehaw desert vibes, but wish there was a bit more formula differences like having a jelly or additional holo glitters or flakies? Maybe I just don't love that 2 of them seem to be streaky from swatches I've seen though... Aside from that I looooove prickly pear, but I'm a green lover so that one was almost guaranteed for me! Also loving midnight rider, and your swatches for sand viper and whiskey sunrise are convincing me I might need them as well 😆 As always, love these release day reviews, it's always great to look forward to!
I share your thoughts about the similar browns. I feel like it’s risky because people may just pick one of the 3. Don’t feel like I’d need all 3 of those.
You know seeing the 3 similar~ browns made me think of ILNP’s Harvest last year, which had 3 similar~ orangey/gold shades! But I ended up loving all from ILNP and sadly only really loved Whiskey Sunrise here. And yeah I do wish they had slightly more different formulas to set them apart a bit more too! (But again interesting when comparing to Harvest and how those had the exact same formulas lol.. I guess the micro flakies are just more popular). I might try sponging on a layer next time I try the other two browns bc yeah I didn’t love the brushstrokes, it almost gave me a Pearl vibe? I’m glad you like those other ones though! I didn’t think that was necessary haha the flakies are very obviously different! I was trying to come up with an accurate recreation, and the gold topper wouldn’t have worked to mimic the pink/orange flakes in prickly pear! 🙈
i would guess not super difficult bc the glitters are super tiny, if anything it might just be messy with getting glitter on your skin lol. i remove my polish immediately after the swatches so its much easier than after wearing it for 4+ days 😅
I really liked Dark Horse (reminds me of a Tiger’s Eye Stone), Whiskey Sunrise (my favorite), Moonrise & Midnight Rider. I agree about the green… I’m a green-lover & that green is a definite pass for me!

I think midnight rider is supposed to be a blue/black multi chrome base, not that the holo glitters are blue/black. It’s like eclipse from ilnp if it was blue instead of red. And that being said…I wish they’d make that at ilnp. I love the shift and depth but I want it without glitters, I can always add them myself later!
OHH ok that would make a lot more sense lol bc im like.. I see the blue and black shift but not in the glitters?? 😅 can you believe I never got into Eclipse 🫣 maybe its one of those i have to see for myself lol, but I def would love to see other versions (blue, purple maybe??) too!
@@PolishedYogi Oh you totally have to see it for yourself. to describe a multichrome as creamy seems...so off, but eclipse is so creamy!! and idk i'm not really into multichromes, i just prefer a shifty shimmer, but eclipse is *cue paramore* the only exception lol it's so deep...and bright? it's magical! i literally only knew that blue/black pigment existed because...ahh this is so off the wall, sryy!! i promise it's relevant haha. but there's this channel that does car customizations, lol, and it's these guys in a shop going bananas over what amounts to the exact pigments we use in nail polish, but they call what we call multichrome, 'hypershift' lol. i was recommended one video and i got sucked in for the same reason i watch nail polish swatches!! one of their videos was a blue to black 'hypershift,' which immediately reminded me of eclipse. so i have wondered why it isn't a nail polish yet XD

great video! i did notice you doing recreations of MC’s polishes with others, just wanted to say that was a good idea! as someone who doesn’t have the money for the polishes, having comparisons of recreations of the MC polishes side by side helps a lot when knowing what polishes to buy to get that similar experience! would love to see this in more future vids ❤

That’s totally fair haha yeah I can see this collection being the usual 5-6 pc instead of 10, but I do like that with more options there’s definitely something for everyone! That’s so funny that we were immediately drawn to opposite “sides” of this set haha 🤣 but yes I’m glad they don’t really do LE collections anymore so there’s no rush to grab anything!
Yee Haw!! It's Fall (in terms of polish drops) y'all!! So exited!! I've realized I'm not a huge fan of the multichromes/duochromes for myself. I LOVE looking at them but I definitely gravitate to a creme/jelly/holo + all the toppers/sandwich type of mani. And the shimmer/flakie polishes I feel like I can dupe fairly easily. They're all still gorgeous to look at!

Omg Sand Viper is the first neutral I really like. I also love the browns. The blue reminds me of some of BKL's dark blues buuuut might be different enough to get... just wish Nailland would stock them and not just Hypnotic over here in EU siiigh.... wonderful work on the video as always!

As always great review with fun presentation and background (that kitty…). I am European and more so Swiss - Rodeo is not part of my culture but I instantly thought of YSL African Collection (minus Moonrise). I am always parted about similar shades in the same collection. Looking from afar it feels oblivious and as if one or more of them have taken the space of a more varying color. On the other hand it‘s an opportunity to give various skintones their perfect match.

When I first saw these sneaked I was not super stoked. But I actually really love some of the colors! Will be fun for fall. I ended up picking up: Sand Viper, Whiskey Sunrise, Fool’s Gold, Dark Horse, Midnight Rider. I think my fav is whiskey sunrise and sand viper! I can’t get down with prickly pear. 🤪

While I thought rhe whiskey one was interesting its not something Id wear often so I passed on that. While I appreciate the color story they arent colors Id reach for.

@@PolishedYogi lol its okay It took me awhile to figure out my undertone. The way I did it was using foundation as a reference I always ended up getting a match in the cool toned swatches. For light skinned cool tones r more pink and warm tones more yellow. Neutral is in between. Its alot of trial and error but it works out.

Moonrise definitely reminds me of Ethereal Lacquer's 'Sakura' that was on PPU this year. It makes me very happy considering that Sakura is listed on mercari for $50+ and i will never spend that much on polish 😅

Hi Stefanie, thank you for this. I know what you mean about Dark Horse and Bootlegger, the formula reminds me of Mortals be warned. So far I've resisted any from this collection. There were a lot of releases this year. I like sand viper, but feel can make with a nude creme and HT's scorched earth. I picked up What a brilliant nose, and if you put that over another it can appear more beige. LOVE the comparisons - I have a lot of browns and oranges, eg Cirque's Eye of beholder and Molten (LLP) but I honestly don't wear that much, so nope. I have a lot HT's toppers, and you creating Pricky Pear gave me an idea, I wonder if I could recreate Midnight Rider with a navy creme and Freezer burn or one coat of house of hades ... hmmm! I'd like to see Bermuda Triange next to Moonrise - those are 2 shimmers I don;t have ...

So glad you compared When the Devil Strikes with Golden Nights. I suspected they’d be nearly identical. Oddly though, when I saw Golden Nights, I was charmed but I had no reaction to When the Devil Strikes. I wonder if it would’ve been this way had Mooncat’s come out before Cirque’s. 🤔 I agree all flakie gold toppers are like 98-100% the same. 😂 That’s why I went for ILNP’s Karma which was the cheapest at $10. The matte finish on this one is unique, though. But tbh I don’t see the point in matte polishes because the only way to make a matte manicure last is to put a layer of glossy top coat over the polish before adding a matte top coat. So with a matte-finish polish, you may be saving a layer and step but you’re more likely to chip and need to spend time repainting in a couple days-I don’t think it’s worth it.
Haha yeah I do think release order has an effect on excitement unfortunately 😅 but at least mooncat is a ml more for $1.50 less! And ohh yeah Karma is a great one too, esp for the price point!! ILNP always wins tbh lol. I love their flakie toppers, funny enough I don’t have Karma either but I really love Empress, Compass & Confetti!
I understand what you mean about the longevity of matte polishes. I haven’t done a wear test myself, but I do believe I remember Michelle stating that you can use their matte topcoat without doing the extra step of glossy topcoat first and it’ll last as long. I’m def skeptical but also curious about it!

Wild, I never thought there’d be a day when Mooncat is more affordable than Cirque Colors. 😅 I’m very into the squishy or glassy glossy look right now, but when I crave matte again, I’ll have to research Mooncat’s topcoat to see if other customers can back up that claim. If it is true, I imagine the matte finish polishes might last too which would be great news.
Moonrise is gorgeous. It wouldn’t look good on me but it’s still absolutely gorgeous. One coat, two coat, three coat-just captivating. But Sand Viper is going on my wishlist. Prickly Pear looks good in 2 coats but I kind of think it’s ugly it in 1 and 3. 😅 Midnight Rider looks more like a starry night sky than any polish I’ve ever seen.

Like Holo Taco, I never got swept up in the Mooncat hype. I appreciate the comparisons, though. Can I just say that I am so tired of holographic flakes in everything? It’s like green shimmer, I’ll be excited about a unique shade and bam! holo flakes and “even green at extreme angles” shimmer.
lol yeah mooncat is def guilty of adding holo or flakies (or both) in almost everything, I can understand getting tired of it 😅🙈 I think there’s a ton of hype for mooncat rn bc they seem to be doing what a lot of other smaller indies do regarding their more “out there” finishes, so its just exciting for people who are only familiar with boutique brands? thats my best guess anyway
I really kinda hate linear holo and even scattered holo if it's too much. Just a light sprinkle will do. Maybe it's the old skool in me but I don't like Metallica either. Right now I like irregular flakies and a warm and a cool in the same polish.
ILNP thinks everything needs holo until a year or 2 ago when customers started leaving suggestions. And I remember how we all were upset there wasn't even a top coat let alone base coat. Don't get me wrong I love their buildable formula. And I want the entire overcast collection

I think Sand Viper can be very similar to Essie "Last Night", which looks truly amazing with matte top coat, a perfect neutral.

I actually thought prickly pear was cute. Looked like a nice juicy green and the flakes definitely give prickly vibes. I just wish it was a little more opaque.
The blue polish was also so pretty, but I'm also just a big fan of dark blues.
Speaking of, right now I'm wearing a sort of experiment. Cirque's cobalt jelly with alexandrite from lights lacquer on top. It went from cobalt blue jelly to opaque, very deep gray almost black, with a kind of subtle blue shimmer. I still want to own a mooncat polish someday though, the house of hades collection looked so dang pretty

I was really excited for the theme of this collection and equally excited when it was teased that this would be the 10 polish collection Michelle mentioned months ago. That being said I'm a bit bummed that there are 3 brown shades that are quite a similar finish (all sorta shimmer multichrome-ish). I don't mind there being a lot of browns cause it's yeehaw desert vibes, but wish there was a bit more formula differences like having a jelly or additional holo glitters or flakies? Maybe I just don't love that 2 of them seem to be streaky from swatches I've seen though... Aside from that I looooove prickly pear, but I'm a green lover so that one was almost guaranteed for me! Also loving midnight rider, and your swatches for sand viper and whiskey sunrise are convincing me I might need them as well 😆 As always, love these release day reviews, it's always great to look forward to!
I share your thoughts about the similar browns. I feel like it’s risky because people may just pick one of the 3. Don’t feel like I’d need all 3 of those.
You know seeing the 3 similar~ browns made me think of ILNP’s Harvest last year, which had 3 similar~ orangey/gold shades! But I ended up loving all from ILNP and sadly only really loved Whiskey Sunrise here. And yeah I do wish they had slightly more different formulas to set them apart a bit more too! (But again interesting when comparing to Harvest and how those had the exact same formulas lol.. I guess the micro flakies are just more popular). I might try sponging on a layer next time I try the other two browns bc yeah I didn’t love the brushstrokes, it almost gave me a Pearl vibe? I’m glad you like those other ones though! i would guess not super difficult bc the glitters are super tiny, if anything it might just be messy with getting glitter on your skin lol. i remove my polish immediately after the swatches so its much easier than after wearing it for 4+ days 😅

I think midnight rider is supposed to be a blue/black multi chrome base, not that the holo glitters are blue/black. It’s like eclipse from ilnp if it was blue instead of red. And that being said…I wish they’d make that at ilnp. I love the shift and depth but I want it without glitters, I can always add them myself later!
OHH ok that would make a lot more sense lol bc im like.. I see the blue and black shift but not in the glitters?? 😅 can you believe I never got into Eclipse 🫣 maybe its one of those i have to see for myself lol, but I def would love to see other versions (blue, purple maybe??) too!

i literally only knew that blue/black pigment existed because...ahh this is so off the wall, sryy!! i promise it's relevant haha. but there's this channel that does car customizations, lol, and it's these guys in a shop going bananas over what amounts to the exact pigments we use in nail polish, but they call what we call multichrome, 'hypershift' lol. i was recommended one video and i got sucked in for the same reason i watch nail polish swatches!! one of their videos was a blue to black 'hypershift,' which immediately reminded me of eclipse. so i have wondered why it isn't a nail polish yet XD

Totally fair! I’m not really into country stuff but I do think it’s a fun theme for polish haha. Midnight Rider is gorgeous though!!
