@jeanbonner2451 I've been wanting to get these out way sooner, but life got in the way. Now I have a little more time, so they will start rolling out quicker now! 😊

LOL @ "things are different here".... did you know that most Japanese adults, especially men, do not wear shorts? Shorts are considered the attire of children. I wore shorts to work one day and was met with subtle looks of disapproval from my Japanese co-workers.... I was baffled until my Japanese manager kindly told me that shorts were not considered to be proper work attire.... In the U.S. and in So. Cal where I lived, shorts are year round apparel lol. I also wore loud printed t-shirts and was presented with a traditional work smock. Japanese can be very subtle in their reactions to things that are out of the ordinary for them. My manager was a kindly middle aged Japanese man who seemed intrigued (and perhaps amused) by my attire and behavior and he was overly indulgent but also tried to gently bend me to the Japanese way. I gained much wisdom from him. On my last day with that company, he took me out for lunch at a traditional Japanese sushi restaurant... I had never eaten sushi before but I was curious and grateful for his kind gesture so I tried everything presented to me... including Sake lol. It was an expensive meal, I know this because the menu and prices were also in English, but his generosity allowed me to spend a little personal time with a man I greatly respected. RIP Isamu "Sam" Mitsuhashi.
BTW my favorite was the grilled Eel but it was all delicious. The Chef was obviously a well trained and experienced Sushi Master, he crafted the food right in front of us with skill that I had never seen before.
Japanese cuisine is a main staple of my diet now.
The Japanese work ethic and expectations are entirely different from any place I worked before. It was a real eye opening experience.
