Nice car ! 69 ss396 here , however I yanked the motor and stashed it and dropped in a 454 with aluminum heads ,built 12 bolt,th400, naturally aspirated 850 Holley tweaked . I love elcos
Glad your video popped up. You have a beautiful car that sounds great and has plenty of power. I can see why you love it so much. I’ve always been fond of El Caminos. I’ve had El Caminos over the years, but always sold them to get the next car. Just bought a 72 that I plan to keep this time. It’s a driving project car that I’ll work on as I go. I’m always wishy washy about what color to paint my cars. Your car sure makes me want to go black. Man that thing is sharp. Hope you’re still enjoying today. I’ll subscribe and hope to see more of your Elco. Thanks for posting.
Sweet El Camino bud... many years ago I used to have a 74 El Camino... but your is much nicer than mine was. But I did have a 4 speed manual in mine. 1970 was a good year for those. I also have a 2016 C7 Z06 in white! ...and it needs an oil change! Just came from that video!
Just bought a 70 myself last weekend. Plan on pulling the cammed 6.0 put of my 75 malibu and dropping it in the 70 this weekend. Got a killer deal on the 70. I've owned 2 chevelle so I'm not new to a-bodys
Yeah I really love this car not doing much with it right now because my day job has me so busy but sooner or later I will get back on it and post some more videos, I actually painted the car myself in my garage, with help from Dad, didn't turn out too bad for a garage job, lots of sanding
I try to get my big block ‘72 C10 to get traction, not spin out.... it won’t hook up at WOT until 70 mph, at WOT in first or second it is on the rev limiter. Sounds similar to your elco, my Straub spec’d Clay Smith HR cam is a torque beast!
Hey thanks for watching, yeah I was never an El Camino fan until my dad bought A 70 SS 396, then I really fell in love with them and had to buy one for myself
Hey mine to if he couldn't tell from the videos. Thanks for watching and please subscribe to the channel if you haven't already I have more fun yard and house projects along with endless things to do with the cars thanks again
I cringed watching that beautiful black paint that shows every scuff, scratch being washed in the car wash with those crappy brushes, only hand washing for my black vehicle.
Don't suppose you remember the width of your wheels and size of you tires. rims. Is your elco stock height? I just jus purchased a 69 and what wondering how wide I can go. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks
18 by 10 in the rear and 18 by 9 in the front , the back spacing in the rear is very important but I don't recall exactly what the back spacing is, the tire size 285/35-18 rear and 245/ 40-18 front, I think you can actually go a little wider on the back but when I bought my wheels this was as big as I could get
I forgot to respond about the ride height it is not stock I put 2" drop spindles on the front and I have coil over front suspension adjusted even lower, with drop Springs in the back

You know, I was just thinking to myself “he wouldn’t dare use that dirty gritty sand filled wash brush at the car wash on that beautiful paint job..” seems like I stand corrected.. 🤦♂️ you love that car huh? Bet you love swirling in your paint jobs too.
I always take the high pressure spray and clean out the brush before I wash my car but it is just a driver and, I aint scared kid, Thanks for watching and be sure to subscribe if you haven't already.
looks sweet... mines same year. non ss.. orig big block and ac.. power etc...add me on my ch..its need of tranny rebuild atm. but deciding what to do I have 5 other projects...boat.. bikes. suv. etc..
