Hi Carla, I just came across your Channel and subscribed. I am planning on retiring in 3 1/2 years and have been researching 55+ communities in the Sunbelt. I did visit Sun City for a few days in 2019 and was favorably impressed. I may plan another visit for 2022.

With low housing inventory in the Sun Cities, unfortunately it’s pretty much impossible to relocate there from the Midwest. One would have to stay several weeks in a hotel waiting for a decent house to go up for sale. And of course hotel stay is not cheap.

HI Van, thanks for your comment! I agree it would be challenging to relocate when inventory is low. One option would be to book a vacation rental in the off season, which would be in the summer. The cost would be lower. Or if you're brave you can come to visit to see what it's like here... and purchase long distance from home. Have you been to Sun City to visit yet?

@@suncityazhomesbycarlayoung Yes Carla I have been to the Sun Cities twice in the last few years. The first time a realtor showed me a few houses. I also looked at the nice Rec centers. Unfortunately now the houses are probably 50% more expensive.

@@vansmack4972 You're right... prices have gone up. If it helps at all, prices in Sun City are lower than any area in Phoenix.. and there are lower taxes here. If you'd like to explore options in Sun City, or have more questions.. you can email me at carla@carlayoung.com Thanks Van!

Carla can you clarify something for me? I was looking at "The Villages" in Florida and it is a combination of different towns and villages. But, I'm confused. Is Sun City is an umbrella term for the surrounding cities that include amenities for anyone in the area? If so, what towns are included in "Sun City'?

Hi Katie, thanks for your question. Sun City is on its own. It is one community which includes single family homes and townhomes. There are 7 recreation centers here with many clubs and you can use all of the recreation facilities as a resident of the community. If you're a golfer, we have 7 golf courses here you can also use. I hope this answers your question Katie :)

Hi Carla, is Sun City, and Sun City West one in the same or are there different fees associated to each one? If you buy a house or townhouse do the fees very?

Hi Terrence, I'm sorry I missed your comment earlier. Sun City and Sun City West are different communities with different fees. Most of the single family homes are not in a condo association, but the townhomes are.. and the fees vary depending upon the HOA it's in. If you have more specific questions, I can be reached at carla@carlayoung.com. Again, I'm sorry I missed your comment earlier.
