    Dear James,
I'm following your channel more than a year. You gave me the courage to start gardening even in a small scale. This January I've purchased a small house with a garden. Only 4 square metre of my garden has soil and grass the rest is raised patio and walkways etc. So in January I've prepared the soil just as you've shown in your videos. I didn't expect anything because I knew this preparation should be done in October.
I have to tell you that everything worked out fine! From the middle of March the worms and other creatures already climbed beyond the grass level. Now I have some Garlic, Fantastic purple onions, Lots of beautiful courgettes and plenty of potatoes. I invested really minimal time and effort, maybe had to do weeding 2-3 times. Also I have a lot of dandelion what I eating too :)
So I would like to thank your work and effort and your priceless knowledge what you share with us!
    Best Regards
    Andras from UK

I am on eastern LI so I can relate to your planting zone/timing etc. and have been converting my 1/4 acre property into a food forest as fast as humanly possible. Very manageable due to wood chip gardening in terms of weeds, watering and very quickly improving soil microbiology and quality. Composting, tea, chickens, and permaculture woven into the property has transormed the place. worms, bees, butterflies, birds moving in fast. lots of fun and i can barely eat conventional produce and even kind of turn my nose up at store bought organic food... there is no going back.

I live in north east England so we certainly don't get the lovely weather you enjoy but I have a large typically English cottage garden with fruit trees, flowers & herbs in abundance.I have been growing organic vegetables in a nearby allotment garden for years & have found that a wildlife pond attracts so many beneficial insects & of course frogs, who gobble up slugs & pests.I wonder if a pond in your beautiful food forest would be possible ?(it would also be somewhere that darling little Tuck could wash his freshly pulled carrots !! Ha ha !!) Are you a fellow vegan by any chance, you seem far too wise & kind not to be somehow ? Much love to you and all your furry & feathered children xx

I love your channel and all the videos you post! I've had challenges with a groundhog (named Phil) in my garden this year as well. Seeing how you've had the same challenges but are still focused on the positive helps me to focus on the positives in my garden as well. Thank you!

James, use marshmallows or cheap cookies to get that groundhog. Animals are like people, we all have a sweet tooth. Place some on the outside, to get them accustomed to the area, and place some on the inside. I always like to bury the trap floor with dirt or something, so animals aren't walking on the woven wire.

And, I always use unscented latex gloves or you can even drape plastic bags over your hands, when working a live trap. You don't want to leave your scent.

I think Tuck is "The Carrot Whisperer". It is so cool how he finds good size carrots for each video!
