I have a small backyard; however, I planted some leftover red potatoes in a wooden planter hoping to have my grandchildren harvest them along with me. Well, they began to pull and dig out the plants and along came potato after potato! Oh, how excited they were. It was priceless!
Just closed on out home last month. Built your raised pallet bed and the key hole bed. Thank you much for everything you do boss. You're doing more good than you think!!
Got ourselves an acre and a half to grow on. Really gonna get into it. Garlic is going in soon here in PA. Stay awesome out there in Jersey boss. Send Tuck some love.
I’m originally from Jersey and live in Florida now, but I’ll forever be a Jersey girl. I love you, your passion for gardening and especially your baby dog.
I love to see Tuck munching on the carrots 🥕, and watching James harvest fruits and vegetables is definitely my favorite. Wish I have a garden like yours. 👍
My son and I just watched all of the harvest and you brought so much joy to our night! We humbly request that you take a bite of everything as you go! 😂 We were dying to hear the crunch of those beautiful apples!!! Unreal! God bless you and we can’t wait for more! Thank you!
I always watch your videos before I go to sleep. This is my dream it makes me calm despite my stressful work. My little piece of heaven even in just a video. Love love James
Thank you for sharing your lovely food forest! Tuck the boss 🐾 and James the king 👑 of permaculture! We love you guys so much. Your love and inspiration is contagious! ❤❤❤
I also love to plant flowers in the garden. I plant a lot of marigolds for their beauty and they help to keep unwanted bugs out. Zinnias and Salvia are very good too. Give Tuck these hearts❤️❤️❤️
❤❤ I'm growing the zucchinos too. Woo, are they productive. 2 plants, over 60 squash and more still coming. I'll grow them from now on, along with orange butternut from Baker Creek. Basically ignored those this year and got 10 giant squash from 2 plants. Squash bugs don't bother either plant BUT the squash bugs do like to lay their eggs on the zucchino leaves.
James you have such amazing garden, and it has just produced such beautiful veggies and fruits this year. My mouth water when you harvest those big apples. They are huge!! You don’t find them that big in the stores, just shows how good you take care of your garden.
Looks fabulous, cleaning my garden up and removing lots of green leaves to force ripen the rest of tomatoes. Thx for the info and motivation. Hi tuck, what’s up pal?❤️💕❤️💕❤️💕❤️💕❤️💕be cool.
Love love love this! ❤️ we finally have the layout ready, setting up the foundation and starting our first food forest down here in Central Arkansas. Thank you for such informative and inspiring videos! You and Tuck are so very much appreciated, more than you could possibly realize! Much success and prosperity to you!
I may have said this before.. but I would really love more content on how you prepare soil, mulching etc.. your garden is so beautiful and plentiful! I watch all the videos, however even though seeing you harvest (which is great!) I am always wondering about how you do this. Informational content about your work in prep would be great! Cheers!
NICE JOB! James you motivate me. and i am 71 years old. been getting rid of grass , planting food , got 150 zuccinni this year, having fun doing it thanks matty
You have immense passion. The pride and the "high" you get off of harvesting after all this hard work rubs off on all amerure and seasoned gardeners. Love your channel and I hope Tuck is all well ♥️
Hey Jerzee boys! Your harvest is so colorful & flawless! It's amazing the produce you grow! You will never be hungry. And Tuck is such a handsome little guy! Gotta love them Yorkie's! 🐾🐾❤️❤️🌎💚💚🐾 Cool T- shirt!
I like seeing a table at the end with all the food you harvested. Showing your accomplishments in more than just the thumbnail at the opener is really nice.
Zucchino Rampicante - seems very similar to the Tromboncino (Center Cut) squash. After 5 years of NOT growing standard zucchini because of the vine borer, which is a major issue in the Midwest, I had a great season with the "center cut". I had to give it away because it produced so much. ZERO pest pressure and very viral plant. Beautiful plant. Love to see these alternatives. Bucket plants!! Yep - doing more and more of those because of space and portability. Great vid - thanks James and Tuck!
I tried rampicante for the first time this year too. I grew them on a trellis and they went crazy! They are so tender and nice. I'll definitely grow them again next year.
"Hello! What's going on?" So amazing! I have a community-wide food security project garden/forest and I recently was able to get a couple pieces of your summer merch. I'm thanking my volunteers with your fall merch (and a shirt for me too ;) ). SUPER comfortable shirts! Love seeing Tuck! I still want a Tuck Tee! :) What a great doggo he is 💜 Thank you James for your vids, your energy and your candor. You are a gem in that garden as well. Keep up the good works! "We out!"
I’m so excited, I bought my first apple trees and a grape vine and am finishing a fence before deciding layout. Then plan to make a few pallet raised garden beds
I really envy all your energy to keep your garden going along with harvesting and preserving your fruit and veggies! I only wish my health hadn’t failed me over 25 years ago and I’d be working on a garden like yours too! But having severe pain 24/7 certain zaps all your energy right out of you! But still trying to do least a little gardening now and then . Just not near what I wish I could do!
Gale have you considered trying medicinal cannabis CBD? CBD has greatly helped combat my chronic pain and chronic fatigue, and CBD is also a non-intoxicating part of the plant, but if you want some extra pain relief THC (the intoxicating part) can be helpful in that way too, I believe. I met a really lovely old lady at my clinic trying medicinal cannabis for the first time for her pain, she was a bit nervous but keen to give it a go after trying so many traditional medications.
James, another great video, im in upstate NY and just starting to get into gardening. was wondering is there a particular soil you are using, additives to the soil other than the cococoir you recommend? I just purchased my first birdies rasied garden bed thanks to you and your promo code. Your harvests look amazing. I believe we are in the same region as for weather. I dont have as much space as you do, i believe in one of your videos you mentioned have i thought at least an acre of land. I have a decent size smaller backyard, but dont get a ton of sun due to all the trees I have on my property. Slowly taking some of those out to allow more sunlight. Any suggestions as to crops I can start off with in my new bed? Lol keep doing big things, love your energy of these videos
Oh boy, love, love this!! This is the only video that we watch with a wide smile from start to finish! That harvest is insane! the colour, the freshness, the quality is a credit to you. Love the little boss, Tuck❣️❤️❤️💕 Not trying to be complicated, will there ever be any merch with at least a pic of Tuck's head at least?? We would love him even mentioned in merch,
James, I’m new to your channel this year & your harvest videos have been mind blowing!! I’m going to search your channel but I’m curious, do you have any before and after videos of your back yard and how you developed your food Forrest? Also, do you donate any of your harvest to your local food pantry? Just curious. I would love to see an overhead drone type of shot to kind of get the layout of your garden… it really does look like you’re moving along so fast in just a jungle of food.. for those of us who want to start our own food Forrest it would be nice to see what such a layout looks like. Thank you so much James for teaching us and sharing with us!! You are appreciated! & so is Tuck! 😊🥹
James and Tuck, I received my Tree Forests T-shirt and the Grow long sleeve. I'm so happy with them! Thank You You two have taught me so much. Enjoy all your videos.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
James; love your garden and your enthusiasm. Could you tell me what that is that you have draped over your grapes and where to get it? Tucker ❤❤❤❤ ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hi James. Wonderland. We in Ct. had similar weather problems. I'm thinking of putting a diy tent cloth over my big boy tomatoes with nice sizes but lots of green ones still. It is a volunteer and came up late surprise and gift. I would be just draping cloth from the top of the stake downward. It would be touching the tomatoes though. Do you have any suggestions James? Thanks for the tour.
The older I get the more I love flowers too 🤣 I was never one to plant flowers but last year I added a few "companion" flowers in the garden and then this year I put in a whole bed of perennials. As I inch closer to 50 flowers have started to bring me joy 🤣🤷♀️🤣. I'll definitely be growing more next year and got a jump start by planting cuttings from my favorites and rooting rose stems. 👍
I LOVE watching you. Could watch your videos all day. A true inspiration to me. You are always so upbeat and motivated and excited. Just like I feel about planting. Im hoping to have a backyard like you! I'll keep watching! Indiana here. Zone 6a
Awesome harvest, James! I too have a bumper crop of grapes this year, Red Flame & Concord. And like yours, many of mine get devoured or damaged by the wildlife. The deer strip the leaves off any vines they can reach, raccoons & opossums eat a lot of the fruit, and the yellow jackets this time of year are horrible. Fortunately I've got so many vines there's enough fruit for my family and the wildlife, lol. Also, Tuck is da man!
You said the birds and other critters were going after your food because they need water I was wondering if you could put a bird bath in the garden for the birds and maybe a fountain for the ground critters.
Love your videos! Always great to see you out there, every time a new video pops up I watch and like right away. Good looking guy and good looking garden! My favorite channel. Keep it up!

Keep sowing and growing. We sustain ourselves when we sustain the plants.
Beans and Tomatos are just as easy to grow with little ones!

Tomatoe and cucumber season ready to launch down here in Aus. Let’s go!
Agree about the zucchini rampicante very good taste and no seeds in the stem will forever grow it and vine borer resistant yes and amen
Life is about falling - Living is about getting back up
Just curious, how do you like to preserve your harvests? I know you eat as much fresh as you can but do you prefer dehydrating, freezing, etc.?
Great work James keeping going I have learned so much from you.
