I have been messing with my G5 off and on for a couple years trying to figure out how to do what this video shows - setting up multiple locations and using the Zones - after at least 30-40 hours total looking at videos and countless days, evening and weekends playing with the PPS, this one 16 min vid showed it all where it was extremely easy to understand - I also is using the new PPS 4.0 where you can see it unlike David of Unifications that is too fuzzy for me to read anything - thank you, thank you Sir -

Really enjoying my G3. Finally figured out the CPS and got it working exactly how I want. Thanks for for turning me on to this. So much easier to use and lighter than the SDS100.
Great to hear! It's in my EDC now. Way easier to clip on the belt or stick in a pocket. I ride with it clipped to my visor in the truck.

It's an awesome scanner/pager.
I'd love to have a p25 scanner.. but I only have one p25 system in my area that I'd like to listen to.. So kinda hard for me to justify buying for the one system.. But this looks like a really sweet lil scanner.. CPS looks great as well. Thanks for sharing !

Right!?? Any of the trunking scanners are priced like gold. Not just this guy, but any of the Uniden SDS series are not budget friendly either.

I could use some help brother. I set up my g4 zone 1 i have my local pd witch works geeat. But wen i add say dps, central, Sherriff to diffrent knobs i cant hear nothing. I even tried creating a diffrent profile just for those and still wont hear anything just my local pd
Thanks for these great Uni videos, Jim. Appreciated!! Have you found any work-arounds that would allow normal scanning the single p25 conventional knob freq's in one zone... Like setting knobs 1-7 as single bands and then knob 8 as the scanning. Can we simulate a trunking feature in any way through other settings or the like? Thanks in advance! ~Sean
Interesting question - I'm not sure I follow completely though. If you mean put one freq on one knob position, I'm sure you can. All the systems I have in the scanner are all trunks though. I could have one knob setting with all those systems, so like local/ORL/Dayton/H'ville all on one knob?
Thanks for responding. I have 7 p25 conventional frequencies in a zone. Knob 8 is set to normal scan with those 7 other knobs in the grouping box to scan. Each single knob (1-7) will pull a signal, but the normal scan (knob 8) will not. I'm being told it's because it's conventional not trunking. So wondering if there is another way that you may have found to do this. The other zone/and scan groupings set up the same way for just conventional (not p25) frequencies works just fine.

I currently use social media and scanner apps. Was thinking of setting up my old fire pager or a newer type unit. Looking for some advice

I don't really know. I'm not affiliated with any system, so I couldn't tell you. I suspect it can, and as far as getting bricked, well YMMV.
programming wants a username and password but no place to set them up
there is a default, if I remember it's "admin" and no password. Might just be blank on both. I don't keep a password on mine. It's in the docs somewhere, I probably googled it at that screen.
