For anyone considering a Unication for monitoring, especially simulcast systems, these devices are great! I’ve purchased two G5’s from Phil, use them almost daily, and love their performance. Audio quality and decoding is far superior to a “scanner”, in my opinion.
I have a G5 that’s driving me kinda crazy right now. I’m hoping it’s just a setting. Every time i enter a menu (settings, playback, etc) and something is broadcast over a TG, it immediately kicks me out of the menu to display the TGID. If I’m in a menu or playing back a message, I don’t want radio traffic to override my current actions. Is this a setting I can change? Any help is appreciated.
The only way around this is to move to a Zone/Key that is fairly quiet and then enter your menu. Anytime there is traffic on a frequency or talk group, it will kick you out of the menu system.

I back this 100%. I have Uniden BCD536HP and SDS200 scanners and they sound far worse in comparison to the G5 on the local P25 system.
Phil where did you get that bumper music. I love it.
you can hold on a channel now you have to set it up in the PPS must be on version 1.3
Thank you for detailing some of the differences between the unication products and a conventional scanner.
How come you don't actually show us anything in the actual video?
Great Video!
