- A quick one this time, inspired by the work of Max Hay.
Saw his recent tutorial and wanted to try out building something out of simple primitives that jjust got more and more complex.
And as always:
Thanks for all the support so far!

As someone who’s just getting into building larger scale things in blender this was super useful to see what tools are effective in building sci if environments.
ok
Yeah! Thanks !
@@OsvaldoPasillas love to see a list of blender addons used… been using blender for fun for awhile now and still learning about cool addons.
@@semi. sure, that May be an upcoming video at some point
One of these days I'm going to figure out how to select that default cube.
Help me! I removed default cube.
Isn't the default cube selected by default? lol
How about trying to make a donut?
Just click over it
these replies be whooshing
This is what Blender masterclass looks like
Haha thanks!
Trying to understand how it came to the final result...
Seriously, it seems unreal because at first it seems like it won't work, I loved the result 😱😱🤩
trust the process🙌
the final touches in photoshop really brought it together
This is a great one! Nice depth going on. Well done.
i think time-lapses are helping me more than tutorials
Haha yeah I agree! I think it’s it’s mainly cuz tutorials provide you the foundation/ techniques do these things but time lapses allows you to see the different ways these techniques can be used. Keep consuming them tutorials and time lapses fellow artist 😤
@@pravitreddy9083 Damn bro, you wrote a whole paragraph
It's a helpful one either way!
Happy to help
Man... All of this work came from years of experience working in this type of field doesn't it? Great Job :o
Thanks! Yeah, it’s been a while haha
Beautiful work!
I've been slowly learning Blender alongside full time work, but I have no idea how anyone manages to fit learning this stuff in!
This kind of stuff pushes me forward, though. I'll make it work, even if it does take me years/decades for a modicum of this skill!
Yeah, you gotta make some time for it and force yourself to do so
Amazing! I love your work. It always a huge inspiration. Thank you!
Thank you for watching!
This is absolute Master Class!!!
Thanks!
@@OsvaldoPasillas ✌💥
Great example of focusing on the end result.
I would spend 3 days making the "perfect" 3d floor model and give up.
Haha indeed
hi man, just wanted to ask if you can list the addons that you use, they're amazing, would like to use them to, thanks.
Sure, I’ll make a video about it soon
Need a movie or game with this vibe please and thank you.
Haha thanks
-- How is it even possible?
-- It just is.
-- How, you skillful digital artist?!
Well, it’s just practice
Very nice render. One small tip is you can add in a circle curve directly instead of trying to make a circle by hand with the bezier curve
Cool, thanks
Beautiful work and scene. Now think of all those people who keep arguing, that you are not an artist, because "the computer does all the work". We all known them.
Haven’t met one of those yet. Thanks!
Just outstanding and Fantastic...💕💕💕💕
great timelapse!
Thanks!
This was beautiful. I personally don't do modelling but this popped up randomly into my recommended and I sat here for the entire duration completely mesmerised. This is a beautiful render I absolutely love it, well done!
Thanks a lot for watching! I really appreciate it
Incredible truly astounding
Thank you!
so much. Can’t wait to start making soft.
All the crazy value adjustments in photoshop have me rethinking doing everything in engine lol
As somebody just getting into 3dmodeling/using blender now, holy fucking shit this is impressive
holy crap, I have so much yet to learn! I want to learn as much as I can! I am so excited to see the things I will make in the future! This piece is absolutely amazing!
Thanks! Little by little you’ll get there
Beautiful! Watched every bit of it! I'll use your video as a learning base!
Thanks! Hope it helps
a delight to watch!
thanks!
Insane amount of work! I respect your craft!
Thanks!
Thank you for making a video explaining all the essentials of tNice tutorials software. You really helped understand the software more, thank you
Ring worlds are a scary but amazing concept. Hear me out:
We’re evolved to perceive “ground” as safe, solid, stable, and secure. The closer you are to ground the closer you are to earth, safe from the empty vacuum of space or the sky for that matter. The key is that gravity pulls us towards the earth.
Artificial centrifugal gravity is the opposite, you are traveling at a constant speed outward away from the ship where you live. Rather than the entire mass of a planet supporting your feet, there’s only a thin layer of metal and polymer containing you and preventing you from being flung into space. And if that floor disappeared or broke then there’d be nothing able to reel you back. That just scares me.
Sadly rotating space stations likely won’t be built because they’d need to be perfectly durable and artificial gravity simply wouldn’t work like natural gravity, but It is an amazing idea…
Great render btw!
I don't really see how spinning space stations would need to be perfectly durable to be able to be built.
using the same logic, appartment buildings can't be built because there is only a thin layer of metal / wood / concrete preventing you from falling to your death.
The floor doesn't have to be thin too : the wall of the iss are made of 10cm of aluminium and kevlar, I would trust that to stand on.
also, since the spin isn't slowed done by drag, it doesn't need to be maintained. basically, making a large spinning space station should not be that much harder than building a non spinning large space station. and you can have artificial gravity without the complete wheel, just attach two modules with a rigid tether and spin it.
Let me dream of spinning space wheels ffs!
I know it seems impossible to build it, but I like to believe in the technology of the future. Today, it seems impossible, like the smartphone idea in the 1980s. I hope!
Durability wise, it needs to withstand 1G radially outwards. It's comparable to a steel hanging bridge on earth, but built in space in a circle. It is quite large (oneill ring concept is 8km in diameter) but it can use basic components to increase tensile strength such as steel cables. Each segment of the ring supports the opposite side segment.
The artificial gravity produced is actually a very good analog for real gravity. Just like gravity would, it pulls all your atoms to the floor in unison with an acceleration of 9.8m/s^2.
With the 8km one, it wouldn't need to spin super fast either. A revolution takes roughly one hour. So the rotation is about as fast as the minute arm of a clock.
The downsides are that space have a lot of random asteroids and radiation which makes it a dangerous place to live.
You forgot to say about the internal pressure on the windows =)
Thanks for watching!
Amazing work! Can I ask what plugins you use? I saw botaniq and a few other ones I’d love to know the names of
Also interested
Yeah, I use quite a few. I'll make a video abut it soon
This is rad. Nice modeling skills.
Thanks a lot
Awesome as usual ;) keep doing great work.
Thank you!
Hey! Where did you get most of your human models from? I've been looking for easy to place human models for my vis.
Daz 3D may help you. Character Creator is another good one.
3dpeople.com I think its called
Hey, great work! Im curious though, where did you get the character model from? I'm currently working on something myself but struggling to find assets like that...
absolutely stunning work. i strive to be on that level one day but that task seems impossible.
that looks so good well done.
Thanks!!!
Question, how long did this take to render? Great video to watch!
This would be cool VRchat-world :-)
Yeah, that’d be fun!
Your videos are amazing, great skills thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
great work! how long did it take to create this?
Thanks! Somewhere around 5 hours. That’s all the time I can afford to make this videos
facinating
Thank you
This blender just give me Minecraft build idea :D
That sounds cool 😎 if you do, please tag me so I can see
This inspires me to do more blender, i have been doing it for over 2 years now and i still a noob
Keep going!
Works well!! DANKEEE
i don't even have the patience to watch the entire video
So sad 😞
Subbed - really amazing!!
Thanks for the support
Fantastic work, however I have a question.
At 6:25, with the material preview on the object still looks shaded flat. When I use smooth shading and even auto-smooth my object still retains the shaded-flat look. Any idea how to fix this?
Change your auto-smooth angles. When you click smooth a little box appears in the bottom left - just adjusting that. If not, use bevel. If you have HardOps (highly recommended) you can apply 'sharpen'. Hope that helps :)
change auto smooth angle or bevel the round edges , bevel might have more control
Yeah, what they said 👆👆👆
so creative, fam!
Appreciate it!
Excellent work!
Thanks!
I audibly laughed when you pulled up that google search of the earth lol
Hahaha why?? 😂
@@OsvaldoPasillas I was watching the sculpting, etc. and it was just so sudden and out of nowhere haha. I know it's a common thing in making concept art but it was still funny to me. Anyways, love your art pieces!
@@kanonon1903 oh I see haha! thank you!
Esto se siente de otra dimensión
Gracias!
that's well done
Thank you!
@@OsvaldoPasillas :)
very nice! Is there a reason why you used a curve instead of making a circular array ?
So he could adjust it for better composition. A pure curve, while correct, might not look as aesthetically pleasing.
Yeah, just for better control
@Osvaldo Pasillas
What addons do you use to make your workflow much faster?
I use several, I’ll make a video about it soon
hey dude it is awesome!! can you tell me how much time did it take.
Thanks! maybe around 3-5 hours I think
I want this to be a video game so bad.
Thanks! Could be fun
my god this is art
Thanks!
Looks amazing! What is the plugin for the materials?
thanks! uhm maybe extreme pbr??
Its very cool dude
Thanks a ton
Excellent job.
Thanks!
great detail!
Thanks!
You're a legend!
Thanks!
i guess this process can be used to create good animation background as well. thanks for the video!
Yeah! Thanks for watching
It is great
What add-ons do you use?
I have quite a few I think I’ll make a video in the future where I talk more about it
So fucking nice
me encanta, esta super
Gracias
The whole thing is great but the music feels like a bee drilling my eardrums.
Yes. Sorry about that😅
Which plugin did you use for the plant scattering?
I'm not really sure, but I believe it's Botaniq.
@@higorhanschen word! I’ll check that out. I’ve always used graswald but it seems to run a little clunky with the latest build.
I use both botaniq and scatter
@@OsvaldoPasillas excellent! Thanks for the reply!
@@FlewitMusic Thanks for watching
buy the way there is a checker deselect option in blender so if you want to only select every second face just use that
oh wow, nice to know. Didnt know it existed
El mago lo volvio hacer :), firme mi wacom porfavor jeje
beautiful, any chance of full length tutorial? (one can hope)
Maybe sometime in the future
Amazing skill and taste.
Thank you so much 😀
@@OsvaldoPasillasHow long do you using blender? I see that you have also good skills in photoshop. I have been using blender since already couple of years, but your works looks better. Where do you learn?
@@LepszyNikt I started using blender more seriously with the 2.8 update a couple of years ago. I just watched youtube videos and started playing around with it
Which pluggin does he use for materials ? Is it good ?
I use one called extreme pbr. Its good enough
Great video and beautiful artwork!! :D if you don't mind me asking, what lut's are you using in photoshop?
i did not see him use any luts.
@@TheDomis4 20:16 you can see that they're using some color lookups in photoshop :)
@@ArtNativeYT ah, you're correct, i was propably skipping over it. From looking at the frame its "Azure" from someone called "@benn_tk" and its in his "Sony - Cine 4" Lut pack. Dunno if thats publicly available though. Good Luck!

My computer would explode cause I’m running on a dell inspron upgraded windows 10. Overall great build
the headphones plugged in but the soft still cos though the computer speakers . It really should be because bluetooth has a delay
Wow😯
Thanks
Awesome work! How do you make the geometry follow the curvature of the floor? I'm new to Blender. Thanks for the help!
It’s just a array modifier mixed with a curve modifier. By creating a path you can tell the object to follow that path
@@ManningMoo Thank you!
Yes, what James said
amazing
Do you sell scenarios in blender?
I dont :)
Hello! What’s your blender version and your asset addon ??
Hi, I’m using 3.2 I think, and it’s not an add on. It’s the asset browser, comes with blender
amazing!
Thanks!
As nice as it is, all I can think about are the engons you made
Ngons are love haha
wow, you recreated the picture from my dream
That’s great. Thanks for watching
Do you use Quixel Megascans for your projects like these too?
Yeah, I think the first grass texture was from quixel

Why's your interface different and more blue-ish is it an addon ? Curious would love to know!
To create extra work spaces you go to the top left corner of a space, the cursor turns into an arrow then you can click and drag. As for the blue, if you're referring to why each object is a different colour, in the drop down arrow for viewport shading you can set the colour to random.
It's not an addon, you can change the way pretty much everything in the interface looks even down to the rounding on different types of buttons, by going into Blender Preferences > Themes. What they are currently using looks like the deep gray theme but edited to be darker/more contrasty and colourful. Personally I added colours to different things like lights to make them easier to see and distinguish in the viewport.
No addon, changed the theme. Watch my 10k subs video for more info
How do you get to have a new color for every new object that you add to the scene ?
I forgot the name of the setting but it‘s under the Settings for the Solid mode
viewport shading>colar>random
What they said 👆👆👆
did u learn?
How do you lign everything up so well
Well blender does most of the work for me. Orthographic views are useful too
Midjourney! You look this sh*t. Yes draw. DRAAW MIDDO DRAAWW
nice job.
What's the name of the add-on you used for the plants ??
Scatter and botaniq
Nice job ! What modifier in 10:42 ?
Boolean modifier I think
you should totally recreate the planet from Prometheus where all the aliens died in that ash
That’s a nice idea, maybe I’ll try something like that later
🔥
Thanks!
What can u do with this scene after finish ?
Render it, post it and never open it again
so dope
Thanks!
What's the plugin for trees?
Botaniq
