- I flew on the inaugural Emirates Airline flight to Madagascar 🇲🇬. Is the country worth visiting?
I boarded an Emirates Boeing 777-300/ER from Dubai to Antananarivo. The flight to Madagascar has a brief stop in Seychelles. All passengers received the inaugural flight certificate and we met with a water cannon salute after landing in Madagascar’s capital; Antananarivo.
There are a lot of celebrations at Ivato Airport. The country’s president Andry Rajoelina was there to welcome the Emirates flight. Later on, I met with the President, who spoke about the significance of the new flight to the country.
Madagascar is the world’s 4th largest island but the air transport network is less developed. The country has 5% of the world's biodiversity. Domestically, I traveled on Madagascar Airlines ATR72 from Antananarivo to Ansitranana (Diego Suarez) and Nosy be. Join me to explore Madagascar 🇲🇬.

I work in video editing and not overdubbing translation over top is sometimes called "native". My bad.

I especially appreciate that you journal less common travel locations and show the beauty of all cultures, peoples, and locales. You don't disparage simpler equipment, accomodations, service, infrastrucure, or networks, even though you have experienced the poshest, newest, most technologically advanced and most extravagant .

I departed Madagascar the day before the innaugural Emirates flight started. I' spent 2.5 weeks in the area of Antananarivo. Over the past 20 years I've been West, East, and North. My next place is to go South and see the Bao Bob Trees. As you mentioned, it is rich in history and culture. I love the nation. My flight in was on Air France.
This is awesome Sam! Madagascar is one of those unreal destinations a UA-camr like myself can only dream about! I've just recently added Africa to my been-there list (Tunisia, to be exact), unfortunately didn't get to film either one of my flights (to/from) as they were both in the evening. I will keep this new Emirates route in mind :)

Wow very nice Sam. Those 777 engines are really powerful sounding with that high pitch noise combined with that base buzzsaw tune😊. They sound more powerful than the A380s' engines how about that.
We had some people from this flight come and stay at our lodge! Super nice guests.

Hi Sam, First of all nice Video, Hope you had a nice Flight on EK, Anyway I would like to say welcome to my part of the world where I live, Not Madagascar, the Seychelles, and hopefully you would come back for another visit. With regards to one of our neighbours Madagascar, I'm sure it's a nice country to visit and yes unfortunately there could be places were you will see poverty. Never been there, But I have heard. Sad really, with regards to Madagascar Airlines was it, they are discontinuing their Jet powered operations, just too bad Their B737 aircraft was one of the aircraft I boarded for a holiday back in 1997, it was known as Air Madagascar back then in the Air Madagascar colours. I think it was a dry lease aircraft as it took me, not to Madagascar but to our other neighbouring island Mauritius, MRU was just a one day stop as my holiday was in Australia, where I have relatives, I like to think that it was that first step in my life where my love of airplanes and aviation came from and it's a shame to hear that they have grounded their jet fleet. I'm not sure if it's the same B737 though or whether this aircraft is still there, but yeah such a shame to hear this. I also caught a detail on that Tsaradia ATR of Madagascar Airlines, umm why is the Seychelles flag on it? I'm not trying to cause problems or issues here but I would like to know it's significance.
