App state beating Michigan, 6 different #2 ranked teams losing, South Florida, Kansas, Mizzou all being top 5, LSU lost twice in 3OT as the #1 team and still made it to the National Championship and won.
It was a wild season, one of the best ever.

And you left out this Kansas team losing to Missouri and finishing ranked below them but yet the BCS still chose them as one of the at large teams over Missouri. Truly was one of the oddest years in CFB.

Had a little something for everyone. Even as a Michigan fan, and how bad things started out, the team pulled it together and beat Urban Meyer and spoiled the Tebow party in the Citrus Bowl after he won the Heisman

As a Mizzou fan, I can tell you we were all pretty well extremely hyped. Nothing compares to everything (seemingly) riding on winning against a long-time rival like that. National respect, that vaunted no. 1 spot, everything just felt so surreal watching that year.
I really hope future generations get their own version of '07 to tell their kids about. Maybe it'll happen eventually...but it's sure gonna take a lot of amazing and straight-up weird stuff to happen to make a comparison with that magical year possible.
God when I go to KU in a few years I will be extremely happy if we even get a mediocure football team setup by then

2007 NCAA football season was full of surprises. Michigan starting 0-2 for the first time in generations, Illinois going to ROSE BOWL, Kansas going to Orange Bowl and going 11-1 and WV romping over OU.

There is literally no evidence that KU has the talent to be much better than what they are. It's not like they've been beating the bad teams they've scheduled the past several years.

That upset is overrated to death considering Michigan finished 8-4 that year, so it's by like Appalachian state beat a legit top 5 or even top 15 team.

I was at that Mizzou vs. Kansas game at Arrowhead Stadium. It was great to chant “we’re number 1!” after the game, even if it only lasted for a week. Chase Daniel, Chase Coffman, and Jeremy Maclin. What an offense we had back then.

I'm a Mizzou fan and I live in KC so there are KU and MU fans a plenty. I remember the MU-KU game well. There was so much hype the week leading up to it. It truly ignited the MU-KU rivalry like no other game has. Now Missouri is in the SEC and it's like this rivalry never existed. The good old days...

Todd was never given a chance to play in a game, even in the CFL pre-season. I think that he could have played well in the NFL, but given his size, no coach would take the gamble.

I remember his team! As an OU fan I follow the Big 12 closely. I was stoked to see a random team like Kansas get good all of the sudden. I was a bit of a Todd Reesing fanboy. Kansas hadn’t recruited well, they hadn’t had any signs that would lead you to think they’d be good. They truly came out of nowhere. If it weren’t for Mangino’s controversial interaction with players, they may have been good for a while. What a different college football world we could’ve lived in.
